Jen tells me that Iris has been released in Ireland now!
The Total Request Live Kickoff Party from Spring Break will rerun on MTV this weekend! Look for the Goo's playing Slide in the last 10 minutes or so! Rerun times are 5 pm eastern on Friday, and 12 pm eastern on Saturday! The Goo's will also be on the Best of Hard Rock Live on VH-1 at midnight eastern on Saturday, performing Iris.

Slide dropped to #5 on the VH-1 countdown, #4 on Rick Dees' Top 40, and stayed at #4 on Casey's American Top 40. Also, Tamsin reports that Slide is down to #37 on the UK Pepsi chart, but there is talk that they will re-release Iris in the UK.

Kelly sends word that the Goo's will be featured on a 2-part MuchMusic spotlight on April 7 and 8! In other MuchMusic news, she says Dizzy has entered the countdown at #26!
The Goo's will be on MTV tomorrow - first on the Spankin' New Music show at I believe 9 am and 4 pm Eastern, and then 120 Minutes will debut the video at 12:30 am Eastern!

Naoko sent me some cool pics! Check out: a flyer for the Japan shows, the Name EP Cover, the Name EP Back, the guys in Japan #1, the guys in Japan #2, and Johnny. The Name EP, as well as the previously pictured Dizzy EP, are Japan-only releases, so you'll have to look to local and internet music stores to import them for you.

The Goo's UK Label, Edel Records, is beginning to push them in Europe. The Slide single was released in the UK yesterday! (Thanks, Rune!)

John is interviewed in the latest Entertainment Weekly! There is a picture and a quote or two from him regarding the new MP3 technology. He says:
"It can be a powerful promotion tool with sound clips, live webcasts, and things of the like. But mp3 raises some questions about our rights as musicians. We can't have every song available for the taking. This is our job, after all. We deserve our paychecks."(Thanks, Erin!)

The latest info I've seen, by the way, says that DUTG has sold 1.4 million copies so far.
And on a fun note, Dizzy became the "Supreme Champion" on 106.5 The End in Charlotte, NC's Rock Wrestling (meaning they were the caller's choice 5 times in a row)!
17:33:59 - A link from Monica to pics from the backyard barbecue the Goo's played in Australia!
Tickets for the Midtown Music Festival in Atlanta, GA the Goo's are playing on 4/30 go on sale 3/12 at 10 am. I don't know if this is Ticketmaster, so you'll have to check local outlets. One day passes for Friday (Goo day) and Saturday are $25 and for Sunday it is $30. (Thanks, Kimber!)
In Germany, you can look for the Goo's in March issues of Guitar and Visions! Visions critics give DUTG 10 out of 12 points!
09:09:31 - David from Scotland tells me that one of the newspapers there reports that the Goo's will open for Aerosmith at Wembley Stadium in London, England on 6/26/99! Other acts include: Lenny Kravitz, the Stereophonics, and the Black Crowes. This would be a HUGE venue and GREAT show for the Goo's!
