Slide is up to #6 and Iris is still at #9 on the VH-1 Video Countdown. On the radio Top 40's, Slide was up 2 spots to #4 (past Jewel) on Casey's American Top 40 and still at #6 on Rick Dees' Top 40.

Kristin sent me Johnny's answers from the March 1999 Twist magazine test! There is also an article about Johnny in Entertainment Weekly (issue date: February 5,1999 on page 67) There is a picture and info on the Grammy's!

1/28/99 20:30:17 - On the Billboard Charts for the week of 2/6/99:
- Slide is down two spots to #11 on the Hot 100 Singles Chart, up one spot to #7 on the Modern Rock Tracks Chart, and up one spot to #5 on the Adult Top 40 Chart
- Iris is down 4 spots to #32 on the Hot 100 singles chart and down two spots to #10 on the Adult Top 40
- Dizzy Up The Girl is down four spots to #27 on the Top 200 Albums Chart
16:16:02 - Here's confirmation and ticket info on the London gig! The show is at the London University Student Union. Ticket are #8 ($12 US). You can get them in advance by calling 0171 664 2030, Stargreen at 0171 734 8932, Ticketmaster at 0171 344 4040, and at HMV and Tower Records throughout London and the south east.
10:23:41 - I've heard a rumor that the Goo's will be playing a show at the University of London Union in the UK on March 12! I don't by any means have this confirmed, but if you hear anything, let me know at [email protected]!
1/27/99 17:54:12 - Tickets for the Syracuse, NY show (3/30) at Goldstein Auditorium go on sale this Friday at noon! Tickets are available via TicketMaster!
I also have confirmation that the Goo's will be playing a show at the Worker's Club in Newcastle, Australia on 2/18!
1/26/99 22:33:01 - The Auckland, NZ show is confirmed! Stacey tells me they are playing at the Powerstation. Tickets are likely $NZ 37.90.
1/25/99 07:34:53 - There is a new buyer for House of Blues - Myrtle Beach, SC tickets on the Ticket Trade. This may indicate that show is close to or completely sold out. Let me know at [email protected] if you can find out for me!
In other show news, the Hofstra, NY show is unfortunately a Hofstra-student only show. Students must have a current student I.D. to buy tickets and get in.

On the radio Top 40's:
- Slide was up 1 spot to #6 on Casey's American Top 40 and still at #6 on Rick Dees' Top 40
- Iris has finally fallen out of the top 40 on both charts. It spent 36 weeks on the charts, peaking at #1 from 7/25/98 (the World of Goo's 1st birthday) to 8/15/98.
- And in Australia, Slide is up 7 spots to #38 on Rage (Thanks, Strider!)
11:39:53 - I have many reports that Johnny and Robby are on the MTV program "Ultrasound: Money for Nothing". They talk about their money problems and stuff they bought. It will rerun at 2:30 and 8:30 Eastern today!
00:30:09 - Randall tells me that www.99x.com in Atlanta will be broadcasting a 30 minute taped acoustic set from the Goo Goo Dolls on Sunday night at 9 pm Central. You can listen via their real audio broadcast!

1/22/99 00:15:31 - In an interview on STAR 98.7 in Los Angeles yesterday, the Goo's said that Black Balloon will be released as a single in the spring. The song is also leading the pack in the current Goo Goo Poll!
1/21/99 15:18:47 - Stacey from New Zealand reports that she heard on the radio there that the Goo's will be playing a show in Auckland, NZ on 2/22!
On the Billboard Charts for the week of 1/30/99:
- Slide is up one spot to #9 (passing Shawn Mullins) on the Hot 100 Singles Chart, is down one spot to #8 on the Modern Rock Tracks Chart, and is up one spot to #6 on the Adult Top 40 Chart

1/18/99 12:35:16 - Rolling Stone is reporting that the Lollapalooza '99 tour committee is "eyeing bands in the mold of Collective Soul and the Goo Goo Dolls". There's no indication that the Goo's will play Lollapalooza '99, but this definately shows the influence and trendsetting ability the Goo's have!
1/17/99 20:48:23 - New show date! Word has it that the Goo's are doing a concert at St. Bonaventure University in New York on May 2! (Thanks, Anna!)
Also, don't forget about the 2 dates I posted earlier that mysteriously disappeared: March 24 at Hofstra USA in Hempstead, NY and March 30 at the Goldstein Gym at the University in Syracuse, NY!
00:28:13 - MTV has yet another story on the Goo's, this one about all the performances last week and another about songs appearing in movie trailers on the Rolling Stone Network!
The Australian radio station Triple-M is having a contest where if the listener who is picked rings up the station when they tell you and names all the announcers, you get to have a BBQ at your house with the Goos as special guests!! (Thanks, Fiona!)

Also, I heard a rumor about the Dizzy video being available on the music channel The Box. I checked the website and my local listing, but didn't see it. If anyone does, let me know via email at [email protected]. It's worth checking out, at least!
01:31:07 - A little tour news! The Europe tour starts 1/23 (although I don't know if this is a concert date or a leave-the-US date) and will be for two weeks! Also, this source says that Johnny is not considering doing a solo album right now, but said If I was going to do a record by myself, you know, I'd probably call these guys to play on it anyway."

1/13/99 12:27:06 - Bad news -- It looks as if the Goo's may not be performing at the Grammy's. According to NARAS czar Michael Greene, "Why, with all the wealth of talent, would we ever put on an act that the public had just seen? It's not good television." Read more on E! Online.

00:31:15 - The Goo's were on Extra! yesterday! Correspondents were going the American Music Awards around asking the stars who they thought would be a good replacement for Debbie Metanopoulous on the View. John mentioned how it would be great if he were to replace her, for a "male perspective".

1/12/99 08:20:22 - New tour date! PollStar is listing a Goo Goo Dolls concert for 1/28 in Hamburg, Germany, at the Grunspan! Hopefully there will be more European tour dates coming soon!
The Titanic soundtrack beat out the City of Angels soundtrack at the AMA's last night, but the Goo's performed "Slide" and sounded great! The camera effect was a little tiring though.

1/10/99 12:22:06 - Check out this interview with the Goo's from the American Music Awards site! (Thanks Kristi!) Included in the interview is info that the Goo's will be playing in New York in May and after the Stones tour, they will tour the US until the end of the year!!

The Pop-Up video of Iris that came out yesterday was very uneventful. Aside from misspelling Rzeznik (a common theme lately), there really wasn't anything new in it. Check the Upcoming Goo Appearances for rerun dates if you missed it!
If you want to vote in a Grammy poll, support the Goo's at the Jam Music polls! At the time of this posting, they were 3rd for Song of the Year and 4th for Record of the Year. A bad piece of trivia is that the last time a group won record of the year was 1980, when the Doobie Brothers won. Hopefully the Goo's will rewrite that trivia!
Kyra let me know that Johnny is in the latest Guitar One magazine with a good interview! Also, Cindy from South Africa sent me her pic for the Goo Fans' Photo Album!

1/5/99 11:29:16 - The 1999 Grammy nominations are out and Iris is up for Record of the YEAR!!! Iris (Johnny Rzeznik, songwriter) is also up for Song of the Year!! Iris is ALSO up for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal! Rob Cavallo, who produced both Iris and Dizzy Up The Girl is up for Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical! Way to go, Goo's!
The 41st Grammy Awards will be awarded February 24 and will also be webcast from www.grammy.com!
1/4/99 21:39:23 - Roxanne tells me that the Iris will be on VH-1's "At First Sight" special, airing an noon Eastern, Friday, January 8. The show will countdown the year's top 10 "love songs", with Iris taking the #5 spot.
