Who are these Foo Fighters ?
The Foo Fighters consist of Taylor Hawkins on Drums, Nate Mendel on Bass, Chris Shiflett on Guitar (post TINLTL) and Dave Grohl on Guitar and Vocals.

What are Foo Fighters ?
Near the end of WWII, the U.S. Air Force patrolling German airspace encountered highly maneuverable balls of light in the area between Hagenau in Alsace-Lorraine and Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in the Rhine Valley. These unidentified flying objects came to be referred to as "Foo Fighters", or "Kraut Balls" by those who believed the objects were a secret German weapon.

Who are these Former Members I keep hearing about?
Well as the band first started out, William Goldsmith was the drummer. However in 1997 during the recording of The Colour and The Shape Goldsmith left the Foo's. Pat Smear left after the first half of the 1997 tour and was replaced by Franz Stahl. Likewise, Franz, who toured with the Foo's during 1997/1998 left the band during the recording of There Is Nothing Left To Lose.
