The band can also be seen on two of MTV's most popular series, BIOrhythm and Fanatic. Scheduled to air on June 29th, BIOrhythm will give viewers an in depth look into the life of Goo guitarist/singer Johnny Rzeznik. The half-hour show will include never before seen photos, interviews and concert footage of Johnny and the band. On July 14th, the Goo Goo Dolls will be the subject of MTV's Fanatic series, where a lucky fan meets and interviews their favorite band. The show was taped in Las Vegas earlier this year. The Goo Goo Dolls are currently on a European tour and will begin a headline North American tour on July 16th in Phoenix, Arizona with special guests Sugar Ray and Fastball. Goo's band members Rzeznik, Robby Takac (bass) and Mike Malinin (drums) will be joined onstage by guitarist Nathan December and keyboardist David Schulz. Tour dates are attached. During the upcoming tour, the Goo Goo Dolls will help MTV promote their Fight for Your Rights: Take a Stand Against Violence campaign, whose aim is to enlighten young people about reducing violence in their communities. A special CD/Action Guide that contains an educational CD-ROM and includes music and recorded comments on violence from popular recording artists, will be distri- buted to audiences at every concert. A special Goo Goo Dolls T-shirt will be sold at the PAX booth with all proceeds going directly to PAX in their effort to end gun violence in America. As with their successful Spring tour food drive, the Goo Goo Dolls are again asking their fans to bring canned and other non-perishable foods to their shows for people in need. Volunteers from U.S.A. Harvest, the nation's largest food delivery organization, will pick up the food and distribute it to shelters in local communities where the band is performing. During the Spring tour, fans donated over 30 tons of food, an amount equal to130,000 meals! The Goo Goo Dolls have had three No. 1 singles in a row: "Name" from their 1995 album A Boy Named Goo and "Iris" and "Slide" from Dizzy Up the Girl.
