1989 Jed! The most mocked of GGD albums! Go listen to it anyways! While on an adventure with another GGD fan last year, I had the opportunity to see the original painting of the album cover. The right is the illegal photograph I took while unnamed other fan was on lookout. Up for download today: Toronto, ON 1/9/1989 audio. The setlist is: Torn Apart Out of Sight Different Light Up Yours Love Dolls No Way Out Don't Fear the Reaper Misfortune Road to Salinas Laughing Seventh of Last Month Come On My Girl Livin' In a Hut I'm Addicted Gimme Shelter http://www.mediafire.com/?c502uc7m72lubcc This is actually a very decent recording considering the circumstances. It is not PC at all so if you are sensitive to certain topics, this is your advance warning. (Someone, let me know you can download this. Mediafire apparently hates Canadian bootlegs)

Aw dang... Why didn't they ever play James Dean? When I went to their concert in Iowa this past May, my friend and I kept yelling out for them to play James Dean. They were probably thinking, "What the hell? Someone still LISTENS to Jed?"

They did play James Dean at times. But when they were sort of on a major record label, they were apparently encouraged not to play it. You can hear constant 'PLAY JAMES DEAN' in many older bootlegs. John would sometimes play it and either not sing the last line or tell the audience to sing it.

1990 Hold Me Up is released! The GGDs get called sell outs for the first time! Today's media: Hold Me Up press video. I looked on Youtube and there were only about 3 minutes of the video uploaded so I uploaded the full thing. I hope this is new and interesting for some people. I tried to put it on Youtube but it came out muted so here's the download instead. http://www.mediafire.com/?iwra1qb4rucaoeg Story time! I call HMU my favorite album. I wouldn't say any songs on it stand out as my absolute favorites but I love this album as one complete piece. It all fits together and flows nicely (if a little jarring at times). I feel like it gets ignored frequently because some people lump it in with the first two albums and write it off, but I think the difference in maturity and musicianship between Jed and Hold Me up is way more significant than between any other 'neighboring' albums. This was the third album by the Goos I owned (November 1998 ). I had owned DUTG and ABNG for about two weeks when I bought HMU. I instantly loved the first two and couldn't really appreciate HMU for a long time. I bought SSCW a couple weeks later and instantly loved that too. Then, I was bedridden with pneumonia for the entire next summer and HMU just happened to be in my portable cd player. I was too sick to even change the cd so I listened to nothing but HMU for about 3 months. HMU is sort of the soundtrack to a really bizarre portion of my life.
