liner notes

xfm was formed in 1992 to provide young londoners with a commercial radio station playing the best in new and alternative rock music 24 hours a day. having been twice unsuccessful in securing a permanent licence from the radio authority, xfm will apply for the frequency of 104.9 fm which is to be offered by the authority in spring 1996.

during its five monthly broadcast xfm involved dozens of artists with interviews, concerts and live broadcasts. xfm is deeply grateful to them for their support and especially to those who have been able to provide the unique recordings contained in this album.
