THE CURE
Galore
Fiction/Polydoor
(Four Stars)

ANY Cure fan worth their salt will own all but one of these tracks, the new, closing song, Wrong Number. So why fork out again for for 17 songs you already have? For starters, it makes an ideal companion to The Cure's last proper "best of" - Standing on The(sic) Beach: The Singles. It also brings together the many moods of The Cure, the heartbreak and poignancy of Pictures Of You, the frivolity of Just Like Heaven and Friday I'm In Love, the claustrophobia of Close To Me, the simple joy of a(sic) Mint Car. Who said they were just sad goths? And, throwing this into the CD player sure beats the hit and miss of shuffle playing through the whole collection.
