The Cure--Galore ( Fiction ) ***

A chronological collection of the Cure's last decade of singles, from the Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me album to last year's underwhelming Wild Mood Swings with one electro-influenced hard rockin' new song, Wrong Number.

It's 18 tracks work out to be a sprightly, rampantly tuneful album. A reminder, too that for a band whose name has been synonymous with miserablilism, they have sure poured out a bunch of infectiously sunny singles, whether the cascading Just Like Heaven, the jaunty Close to me or the giddy Friday I'm in Love. That makes this probably the only Cure album good for barbecues.
