Comments
The cover has a picture of bob onstage wearing a sweater. No booklet. This is a pretty good audience recording, not much noise from the audience. The cover doesn't say where the show was recorded.

These disks give a good idea of what the Prayer tour sounded like. Homesick is followed by Untitled, but Untitled is not a separate track, nor is it mentioned on the sleeve (dumb bootleggers !!). The concert is recorded somewhere in Europe, as sometimes, between songs, audience conversation can be heard that is definitely not English but some European language. Why Can't I Be You doesn't quite make it into Lovecats.

In the middle section, Robert starts to babble about Everyody wants to be a cat... but never actually makes it into any Lovecats lyrics. He does try to communicate with the audience occasionally: If only... (Just Like Heaven), That was a good suggestion, we might to that one later, yeah... (Fascination Street), Well, that would be close, it's from around the same bit... (Cold) and ...no, this is for us... (Homesick).

There is some evidence of The Cure being bombarded with shoes at this show, as evidenced by the announcement of The Walk. Ahh, the other shoe.... Overall, this is a solid disk, great track selection, although the encores seem to have been cut a bit short. The levels of Robert's six-string bass fluctuate a bit in the beginning of Lullaby, but otherwise things are pretty much OK. Not an outstanding show, but worth the buy to hear the Prayer Tour (although other better disks do exist).

Recorded in Essen 11 may 1989 !!!

Not Colmar 1989 !! (I've got the 2 shows, at the Colmar one, Robert sometimes (try) to speak in french...

I'm sorry again to tell that the recording is not complete (see some fews bootleg reviews from 1980, 1981, 1982) but last song "Faith" is missing on this double cd. NEVERTHELESS the sound quality is better than original audience recording (it was very well improved)...

For an audience recording this sounds pretty damn good! I'd recommend it to anyone. While it probably isn't the entire show, it's a great example of what the Prayer Tour sounded like. Buy it if you can find it!
