12/5/01 - We'd like to extend a very big Happy Birthday to John Rzeznik, who turned 36 years old today!!! He's a very gifted and talented songwriter and musician, and probably without Robby Takac helping to bring out these talents in John over the years, we would have never known who the Goo Goo Dolls were. They now stand as an incredibly popular band with an illustrious career of big hits in popular music. John has been playing guitar with the Goo Goo Dolls since the beginning.

The Goo Goo Dolls are probably in their last couple days of finishing up their next album, Gutterflower. By the way, when did it go from "Gutterflowers" to "Gutterflower"(plural to singular)? I had to pause and reread it when I saw it in the Daily Goo.

Speaking of the Daily Goo, there is supposedly going to be big announcements coming up very shortly, including announcements about Buffalo(maybe a Christmastime or New Year's concert or something of the like), so don't get too far away from your computer in the next few days.

GOO GOO DOLLS PUT FINISHING TOUCHES ON GUTTERFLOWER FOR 2002 RELEASE; JOHN RZEZNIK’S PONTIAC GTO DONATED TO VH1’S SAVE THE MUSIC FOUNDATION’S HOLIDAY AUCTION.

Warner Bros. recording artists the Goo Goo Dolls are in a Los Angeles studio putting finishing touches on their seventh album, Gutterflower. Band members John Rzeznik, Robby Takac and Mike Malinin have recorded twelve songs for the disc which is due out in 2002. Gutterflower is being produced by Rob Cavallo (Dizzy Up the Girl.)

Beginning December 2 and concluding December 17th, John Rzeznik’s 1967 Pontiac GTO will be put up for bids on VH-1 and eBay in connection with VH-1’s My Music Awards (Dec. 2 at 9:00 PM ET/PT). The classic car is white with black interior and is being auctioned off with other one-of-a-kind rock collectibles and memorabilia, with proceeds benefiting VH1-s Save the Music Foundation. The Goo Goo Dolls took part in three recent benefit concerts for victims and families of the September 11th terrorist attacks. On September 21st, John Rzeznik appeared on the worldwide televised event, “America: A Tribute to Heroes” performing Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” with Limp Bizkit. On October 20th the Goo Goo Dolls performed at the Concert for New York in New York City’s Madison Square Garden, and on October 21st, they performed at the United We Stand concert at RFK Stadium in Wash., D.C. Performances from A Tribute to Heroes will be available for purchase on CD, DVD and video December 4th. The Concert for New York CD is in stores now. All three events helped raise millions of dollars, and proceeds from audio and video purchases will also benefit victims of the tragedies.
