Brooks Wants To Sell 100M Albums

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Garth Brooks has no plans to rest in his assault on the 100 million-album mark.

His new ``Garth Brooks Double Live'' album sold 1,085,373 copies during its first week of release, starting Nov. 17, according to SoundScan, a company that monitors album sales.

``I wish I could enjoy it, but you know me,'' Brooks said Wednesday at a news conference at the offices of his record label, Capitol Nashville.

``Probably for about five minutes, we'll sit here and celebrate,'' said Brooks, who last week was named country music artist of the year at the Billboard Music Awards ceremony in Las Vegas.

Brooks wants to sell 100 million albums by the turn of the century, and first-week sales of his double-live album pushes his career total to 83 million. He wants to release three albums next year.
