Are people excited about Last Hot Night in America just because it's a new song or because they actually like it? It seems when I read AG and YT people are very excited about that song, but it's probably the first song I've heard by them that I just don't care about at all. I would be fine with never hearing a studio version. For some reason it just doesn't excite me.
I can understand if people are just getting excited to hear new music, but if they actually like the song I want to understand what they like about it. The chorus is boring and makes no sense, the song itself seems like it wants to be energetic but never quite gets there, and the guitar is lacking. The only thing I like about it is the drums, but I think even these could have been better used in a better song. And for goodness sake, John, play your guitar for once.
Hopefully I will change my mind when I hear the studio version or hear it live...at first I thought I wouldn't like Nightmares and Dreams but it became one of my favorites on the album...but at this point I don't care to ever hear this song. I don't want to be negative, but as much as I try I can't get myself to like this. What are other people's thoughts?

Shade, I really don't like it thus far either. Which is fine! I just feel like I am less excited about a song, because I usually only buy the albums.
That being said, I love the song "All That You Are" - I am excited for the next album. I really hope there are some acoustic songs on the album, since Sympathy is my favorite song, and Gutterflower my favorite album.
