sorry about that "imp's" outburst. t'wasn't me.
I guess the story I was thinking of when I said
that Jesus doesn't like money/wealth, was the one
where the old poor lady donates her only penny in
church and it makes him happy, but the rich man
who donates a bunch of gold doesn't impress him
at all. Also, Jesus just didn't focus his life on
the pursuit of gold.
About him being wealthy, I don't think i've ever
heard that he was especially wealthy, upper
class, but he did have considerably more money
than the poor people he was trying to help, and
this supports what i've been saying.
People should be free to earn money, unrestricted
by the government or social stigma. What needs to
change most is not the economic system we live
in, but the system of human interaction and
compassion that we participate in. Jesus was
great, not for economic reasons, but for reason's
of compassion and actions.
