This show was broadcast on MTV. The cd also contains the 5 min.interview by Ray Cokes before the show began. The cover is a shot from the '13th'-video

There exists another cd (Strawberry Kisses) with the same show plus 3 tracks which they played at the MostWanted show and 3 tracks from Modern Rock Live

The layout of 'New Songs' is great! It has lots of pics shot at the show in London and other funny pics (band with pets, bunnys, and hearts ... strange pics!!)

One of my proud acquisition. I really like that so-called "secret gig", because we've got an historic document of one of the very first public appearance of the Cure on stage since the recording of WILD MOOD SWINGS, and it shows a great deal. Let's just mention Robert's goof-up in the lyrics of WANT ! The interpretations of the new material is as usual of premium quality, no complaints. NEW SONGS contains WMS-only songs. In fact, it's almost WMS in its totality (too bad tracks like NUMB, GONE ! and THE 13TH are missing from the set - or just missing from the recording ???). The only weak point of NEW SONGS is the latest track, called INTERVIEW. It is an interview alright, but I just can't stand the stupid bloke conducting the interview... and I don't mention his dumb reflections about The Cure, Mint Car single and the Robert Smith Solo Album (to be release after his death...). To enjoy New Songs at its most, please program your CD player in a way that it will automatically skip that uselessness !!!
