()= Delay Repeats
%= Repeat X times

Notes: The main sounds of this song are produced by a delay pedal. For the intro
Tom Morello has the it set for two repeats, as the () show. The bass keeps the
groove, keeping it simple. For the "thud and string raking" sound, Tom uses
the delay and a wah on. As he hits the strings he simply pushes in the wah.
The freakish scratch sound is made by a slide (or allen wrench or glue stick
or whatever) slid over the strings above the pickups. Then he plays some blues
licks with a different delay setting. I can't figure it out, but if anyone does,
please post it.

The rest of the song is much the same, except he does the string raking thing during
the verse at the end. Then he does some more scratching on the higher strings. Email
me anything else you know, especially the solo licks. I read in a Guitar World that
for this particular song he used a guitar that had a built in phaser, and gives this
song the weird sounds for the solo stuff.
