Settled in London
London's been cool so far. A couple of us went to see Stone Temple Pilots play the other night here, and last night some of us got to go to the U2 show as well. We're in the studio finishing up the title track to our forthcoming album "Rock Steady" with producer Nellee Hooper, and mixing of the album is just about to commence any day now.

TOTP

Friday BBC's Top of the Pops will air the performance of Gwen and Eve taped at a Las Vegas studio. For more info, look at Appearances

This is from the TOTP site:
"It seems that sisters are doing it for themselves in this week's charts as this marriage of rock chick hip and Hip-Hop momma go straight into the charts at No.4!

It seems that the luscious ladies had a lot of fun making this song, which was produced by the notoriously scary-to-work-with Dr Dre.

As Gwen told TOTP Plus: "It was a whole different story and I seriously had a sore bottom when I left 'cos that guy really kicked my butt! Literally two and a half hours of singing the same thing over and over again. I was near tears and I almost walked out. When we were done I walked into the studio and thought: "What am I doing this for? Why am I torturing myself?" and he said: "You sounded amazing. You should have seen Eve do it!" He always has people walking out, but I made it through!"

Looks like it was well worth the hard work, Gwen... "

Timbaland helps
No Doubt

Aside from his Interscope imprint, another project that tickles Timbaland pink when he thinks of it is his work on the new No Doubt album.

"Gwen [Stefani] is so adorable," he said, laughing to himself. "I talk to her like a real person, not as no industry cat. She needs Phil Jackson sometimes too. Her rhythm is different from my rhythm, so she'll be like 'I'mma go in there Tim and get the rhythm that you talk about.' The whole band is crazy."

Like he does so often, Tim said he switched gears with his production on No Doubt, the Beat Club projects and on the work he did on upcoming albums by Ludacris, Petey Pablo and Jay-Z.

CHART MONSTER GOBBLES UP *NSYNC

The unstoppable "Now That's What I Call Music" series has claimed another victim.

This time, Vol. 7 of the killer album series has rolled over the world's biggest boy band, knocking *NSYNC's "Celebrity" down to the No. 2 slot on album-sales charts.

"Celebrity" also saw a whopping 80 percent drop-off from its first-week sales, with 188,000 units sold.

"When you open so big, you have no where to go but down," says Billboard charts guru Geoff Mayfield, noting "Celebrity" has sold a remarkable 2.3 million albums in two weeks.

"Now 7" sold 620,000 in its first week out, according to SoundScan, which tabulates retail sales.

The hits compilation includes tunes from Janet Jackson, Eve and Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and other chart busters - including *NSYNC's "This I Promise You."

The "Now" series has been a smash hit overseas for decades and only began here in 1998. The fourth in the series, released in July 2000, was the first compilation ever to hit No. 1 on the top album charts.

Albums in the "Now" series, which are released approximately every four months, regularly make their debut in the No. 1 slot and hover at the top of the chart for weeks.

"Now 6," released in April, still sits at No. 40, with a total of 2.9 million albums sold.

Single info
Source:
No Doubt may not be hugely popular here in Holland, but Eve's new single with Gwen is really doing well here, so we get to see the video a lot and Gwen is getting some attention, she is on the cover of a Dutch magazine.

"Let Me Blow Ya Mind" is TMF's Superclip, (www.tmf.nl) that's means it gets played once every 2 hours.

It is requested a lot on TMF and on the radio and has been in the top 5 for the last week now.

I hope when the single comes out next week it will climb the charts to a high position! It's already at number 9 in the Clipparade, the most requested songs of the week on TMF.
