Durst-Radiohead "Are Dope"

Radiohead have forged a meeting of minds with one of the biggest bands in the world, after it emerged that Fred Durst is a big fan of their new album, dotmusic can reveal.

In a perhaps unlikely turn-of-events, Durst, frontman of the nu-metal figureheads Limp Bizkit, has told fans to check-out the forthcoming long-player 'Amnesiac'.

Speaking on the band's official website, he revealed: "Check-out the new Radiohead - it's really dope".

Meanwhile, Durst has also revealed that 'Dallas', the boy he has fathered, will take on the baton from his father and "carry out the Durst legacy".

As reported on dotmusic earlier this week, the nu-metal icon is expecting to become a dad for the second time in October, but he has assured his female fans that marriage is not on the cards.

Durst, speaking on the band's official website, explained: "Hey now, don't be freaking out because I'm having a child. It happens, you know, and I believe I need a boy to carry out the Durst legacy.

"It was not planned, but is still a blessing. I'm not getting married or anything like that, but I am going to support the child."

Durst has described the moment of conception in none too romantic terms: "The girl lives in Minnesota. We humped early along in the 'Anger Management' tour and now she is pregnant.

"She is a beautiful, smart, normal girl who will have an amazing child. So be happy for me if you can, because life is full of surprises and Dallas is one."

Durst, who already has a daughter - Adriana - concluded: "Now ladies, don't be thinking no crazy shit alright. It's all good."

Fred Durst to Be a Dad?

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is expecting a new baby, according to a report published today in British tabloid The Sun.

The paper says that Durst's current squeeze, former Playboy Playmate Jennifer Rovero, will bear the rock star a baby boy in October. According to an unnamed source, the singer plans to name the baby Dallas, after the U.S. city where the little nipper was conceived.

"He's always wanted a little boy he can do guy things with," the paper quotes an unidentified friend as saying. "Him and Jen are very close, although [they] don't see each other a lot because of work commitments."

Durst has a 10-year-old daughter, Adriana, from an early marriage that ended in divorce.

Limp Bizkit plays in Antwerp, Belgium, tonight as its European tour continues. French officials prohibited the group from using its massive onstage pyrotechnics display in Paris last night, citing safety concerns.

Fred's Talking About His Generation

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has described his band's music as "timeless" and has bemoaned the lack of fresh talent in nu-metal.

Speaking to nme.com at the launch of his Flawless record label at The Supper Club in Amsterdam, he said: "I'm here for longevity. I'm not here to make a statement. I'm here to make timeless music."

Durst plans to spend this summer directing the feature film 'Runt' and is expected to follow that with a teen thriller, 'Life Without Joe'. He said: "I'm working on a couple of films I want to direct that are exciting and need to be made. One of them is 'Runt' - it's about an underdog in high school."

Durst has been working on the ideas for the film with help from David Fincher, director of 'Seven' and 'Fight Club'. The frontman also revealed that the whole band would be involved. "We're going to score the film and we're going to do the soundtrack," he said.

Durst also said the band were trying out new ideas in soundchecks for the follow-up to 'Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water'. "If the film doesn't come through, we're hoping to write all the new Limp Bizkit record," he said.

The singer also talked about Bizkit's return to the UK for summer dates, which culminate with their show at Milton Keynes Bowl on June 24.

For tickets, ring the NME 24-hour Ticketline on 0870 1 663663. Calls are charged at national standard rate.

Durst told NME.COM: "Before, we were scared at Reading [Festival, where they played last year], we were scared because we didn't know what people were going to feel. So now we've sold the shows out, we know the energy's there and everybody's anticipating it. And we feed off energy. So if the energy's not there we'll be shitty, if it is there we'll be great."

As previously reported on NME.COM, Limp Bizkit's new single will be 'Boiler', as voted for by fans on the official website, and will feature a "Pink Floydy" video.

Durst Apologizes to Fans

Nu-metal heroes Limp Bizkit were forced to pull out of a festival performance in Madrid on Saturday (May 19th) due to safety fears.

The band were all set to perform at the Festimade Concert in Mosteles but backed out at the last minute when their management decided that the security standards discussed before hand had not been met.

A representative from The Firm, Limp Bizkit's management, said in a statement: "The Festimad promoter had signed a contract and rider that specifically outlined every safety requirement.

"The barricade the Festimad Festival's promoter had intended for use was made specifically for indoor arenas. It is completely inadequate for outdoor conditions. . . Limp Bizkit is totally focused on the safety of their fans."

Meanwhile, leading man Fred Durst has expressed his sadness at having to disappoint Spanish fans. He said: "Everything we do is for our fans. We deeply regret that they have been robbed of an opportunity to see Limp Bizkit. The inferior security measures of this festival could have caused harm, and nothing is worth risking the safety of our fans.

"We love the city of Madrid and the fans we've met here. We definitely plan to come back as soon as possible."

Back in January a 16-year-old was crushed during Limp Bizkit's set at the Australian travelling festival 'Big Day Out' and died later in hospital. A post-mortem report has recently revealed that it was a lack of oxygen to her brain that had killed her.

Durst Speaks on Bizkit Cancellation

Limp Bizkit have issued a statement on their last-minute decision to pull out of tonight's (May 19) appearance at a rock festival MADRID, NME.COM can exclusively report.

As reported earlier on NME.COM, the band decided not to play their headline slot at the Festimad event, where there has been rain in recent days, because of safety fears.

Now the band's management, safety consultants have explained exactly why they made the decision - and Fred Durst has apologised to let-down fans, promising that they will return "as soon as possible."

A statement just issued by the band's management company, The Firm, reads: "The Festimad promoter had signed a contract and rider that specifically outlined every safety requirement." The band's security and production managers added: "The barricade the Festimad Festival's promoter had intended for use was made specifically for indoor arenas. It is completely inadequate for outdoor conditions. Limp Bizkit is totally focused on the safety of their fans.

"Further major concerns about the barricade's ineffectiveness arose due to the adverse weather conditions in Madrid as it had rained heavily the previous night."

Frontman Fred Durst added: "Everything we do is for our fans. We deeply regret that they have been robbed of an opportunity to see Limp Bizkit. The inferior security measures of this festivals could have caused harm and nothing is worth risking the safety of our fans. We love the city of Madrid and the fans we've met here. We definitely plan to come back as soon as possible."

Limp Bizkit Pull Festival Show in Spain>

Limp Bizkit's festival appearance in MADRID tonight (May 19) has been pulled due to safety fears, NME.COM can reveal.

The band, who were due to appear at the Festimad just outside the city tonight, had requested their usual T-shaped safety barrier. But it has emerged that the barrier has not been provided, and the band are putting safety first and at present they will not be taking the stage.

As reported earlier today on NME.COM, details emerged in the Australian press of the autopsy report into the death of a 16-year-old girl during Limp Bizkit's set at the Big Day Out festival in Sydney in January. It has been found that Jessica Michalik died from lack of oxygen to the brain during the crush at the front of the stage.

While negotiations are currently taking place to see if the situation can be salvaged, NME.COM's reporter in Madrid said that at press time it looks unlikely their performance will happen. It has been raining heavily in the city and the ground is believed to be very muddy.

The band, who move on to Portugal on Monday, as scheduled, are expected to make a statement later. Click back for further updates.

Slipknot, Manic Street Preachers and Muse appeared last night. Backyard Babies and Jerry Cantrell are also on tonight's bill.

Earlier today, before the news emerged that their safety precautions had not been met, Fred Durst and Wes Borland took part in a press conference at the Hyatt Hotel. Durst, sporting a sparkling large diamond cross and lavish diamond earrings, spoke about his film project 'Runt', slamming soppy US movies such as 'American Pie' and saying there were too many of that ilk. His will be about the outsider kid who gets beaten up in school. In an amazingly Spinal Tap-esque statement, Borland revealed that he had been "experimenting with vintage plectrums" while working on the band's next album, as it will be "a lot darker".

Limp Bizkit Do It Their Way

Limp Bizkit kicked off their European tour in Amsterdam last night (May 16) with a spectacular show at the city's Heineken Music Hall.

However, according to The Sun newspaper this morning, the show was in danger of not happening at all until the eleventh hour. Limp Bizkit employ a huge pyrotechnical display throughout, and Health and Safety officials were worried the fireworks posed a danger to the band. However, following a late inspection officials gave Limp Bizkit the green light.

As soon as the band hit the stage, 20ft flames were set off with frontman Fred Durst baiting the crowd, asking "Do you like fire?'" The displays continued throughout show. Running through a selection of hits including 'My Generation', 'Take A Look Around', 'Rollin'' and new single 'My Way', Limp Bizkit also invited several fans onstage.

The crowd lapped up the entire performance and showed no animosity towards Durst, despite his vitriolic attack on their hometown. Yesterday (May 16) he told nme.com he thought the city was "disgusting'" and "putrid".

The tour will continue in Madrid on Saturday (May 19).

In other Limp Bizkit news, Durst has also revealed he was bullied at school.

"I've been an underdog all my life. It stems from being at school. A lot of songs are about getting sick of being bullied and pushed around," he told The Sun, adding, "We're standing up for bullied kids around the world."

Durst Catches 'Runt' for Directing Bow

Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst, eager to become a movie director, is now eyeing a different project on which to make his debut.

Daily Variety reported on Monday that he would shoot "Life Without Joe," a thriller described as "Deliverance" for the younger set. But Durst told Daily Variety on Tuesday he wants to launch his career with "Runt."

"'Runt' needs to be done now," he said. "I made a band so I could direct videos and then direct a movie."

The $10 million project is the story of a teen who is endlessly taunted and persecuted by a trio of bullying jocks. When they kill his dog, he decides to avenge the loss before realizing he must break the cycle of violence and move forward with his life.

Durst said that he plans to begin pre-production as soon as he returns Stateside at the end of June after a Limp Bizkit tour of Europe. He has directed music videos for Limp Bizkit as well as for Korn, Cold and Staind.

Universal Focus, the arthouse arm of Universal Pictures, will handle the film's domestic release. David Fincher, the "Seven" director who cut his teeth on music videos for the likes of Madonna and Paula Abdul, will executive produce.

"Life Without Joe" is one of a number of films Durst is in negotiations to direct. The story follows a group of teen football players who stop in a nowhere town, where an odd character accuses them of running over a cat. The teammates soon find themselves running for their lives through backwoods populated by some scary locals.

Another project vying for his attention is "Wannabe" (aka "Hoodfellas"). The film, written by "CSI" creator Anthony Zuiker, is the story of a young man who is injured, loses his chance to become a professional baseball player, returns to his Yonkers neighborhood and gets involved with the Mafia.

Durst intends to promote his productions across all media platforms. This includes Limp Bizkit providing the soundtracks and scores, as well as promoting the projects on the band's heavily trafficked Web site, on concert tours and through MTV appearances.

DJ Premier Remixes Limp Bizkit

Hip-Hop's most revered beat-maker, Gang Starr's DJ Premier has contributed a remix to Limp Bizkit's forthcoming release of 'My Way' dotmusic(.com) can exclusively reveal.

Primo joins William Orbit and the Dubpistols as the producers reconstructing the track for its release in June.

No stranger to the band, Premier previously produced the inspired Method Man collaboration 'N 2 Gether Now' from Limp Bizkit's second album, 'Significant Other'.

The remix will reinforce Premier's growing reputation in the UK charts, following Blacksmith's successful plundering of his beats for their remix of Craig David's 'Rendezvous'.

Bizkit Buffs Choose Single

Devoted Limp Bizkit fans have selected the band's next single from their hit album 'Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavoured Water'.

Nu metal lovers have chosen the track 'Boiler' and did so via the band's official website www.limpbizkit.com.

Frontman Fred Durst posted a message yesterday (May 19th), which revealed that he was going to co-direct a "dark and Pink Floydy style" video for the song alongside Dave Meyers, who was responsible for Missy Elliot's impressive 'Get Ur Freak On' promo.

According to a record company spokesperson the video will be shot in Lisbon, Portugal while the Bizkit's are on tour in Europe and it's set to include clips of live footage as well as "concept scenes".

'Chocolate Starfish..' has already spawned the two successful singles 'Rollin' and 'My Generation' and the band are set to release 'My Way' in the UK on June 11th.

Durst has also announced that he intends to start filming his big-screen directorial debut 'Life Without Joe' this autumn. The movie will be a teenage thriller about a travelling American football team.

Durst To Direct Teen Thriller 'Life Without Joe'

Big-screen directorial debut slated to begin filming in September following Bizkit's return from Europe.

It'll be his way or the highway when Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst gets behind the camera to direct the feature film "Life Without Joe."

Shooting is slated to start in September following Bizkit's return from Europe, where they're to play several festivals and headlining gigs with Godsmack. "Life Without Joe" is expected to hit theaters next spring, according to co-producer Mark L. Lester.

Written by Brent V. Friedman ("Mortal Kombat"), the teen thriller concerns a group of traveling football players accused of making road pizza of a cat in a rundown rural town. Creepy locals eventually chase the kids through the woods in a plot descended from such films as "Deliverance" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

Casting for the $10 million movie is expected to begin next week, said Lester, who hopes such high-profile friends of Durst as Ben Stiller, Stephen Dorff and Scott Caan will lend an acting hand, though none could be confirmed at the moment.

Although Lester claimed "Life Without Joe" would be Durst's directorial debut, another film, "Runt," is also in the works, and it's unclear which film will come first on Durst's docket, according to an Interscope Records spokesperson.

In a note posted Tuesday (May 15) on Limp Bizkit's Web site, the singer made no mention of the teen screamer, stating that he'd either start working on "Runt" upon returning Stateside or begin preproduction on his band's fourth album, the follow-up to last year's Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.

Durst began writing the new album while on tour, he says in the posting, insisting "it's time to lay it on the line and get seriously ill on an overdriven level."
