Wes Ponders Side Project and Acting

Apparently, putting together one of this year's most hotly awaited rock albums isn't enough for Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland.

As frontman Fred Durst lays down vocals in a Los Angeles studio for Limp's upcoming album, Borland is trying to decide which direction to take his career next year. While at the Hollywood premiere of "Mission: Impossible 2" last week, the guitarist revealed that he's either looking to act or go out on tour with his side-project, Big Dumb Face.

"It's kind of like Ween. It's kind of up the stupid music," Borland told MTV News of the side project. "It's comedy music. It's not really even close to Limp Bizkit. It's completely the opposite side of the spectrum." [RealVideo]

Come January, Borland plans to either hit the road with Big Dumb Face or act in one or both of Durst's impending films, titled "Nature's Cure" and "Runts."

As for Limp Bizkit, the group's album, tentatively titled "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water" is slated for release in August.

Eminem, Limp Bizkit, Korn, More For Weenie Roast

The annual southern California modern rock fest known as the KROQ Weenie Roast will have a decidedly hip-hop flavor this year, as Eminem, Cypress Hill, and rap-tinged rockers Limp Bizkit and Korn will round out the bill.

Those acts will join more conventional alt-rock choices like Creed, Everclear, No Doubt, Godsmack, Incubus, Lit, Third Eye Blind, Stone Temple Pilots, The Offspring, and Moby when the Los Angeles-based radio station stages its annual shindig on June 17 at Anaheim, California's Edison Field.

Ticket information has not yet been released by the station, but announcements concerning sale dates and ticket giveaways are expected to float out over the airwaves over Memorial Day weekend.

The West Coast radio event always draws a who's-who of modern rock, and past years have seen Kid Rock, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Blink-182, Green Day, The Wallflowers, Prodigy, Oasis, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Garbage, The Fugees, Kiss, Hole, Rage Against The Machine, White Zombie, The Ramones, Beck, Counting Crows, and a host of others take the stage.

Creed, Limp Bizkit, The Offspring, Stone Temple Pilots, Moby, Korn, and Everclear are all making return trip to the Weenie Roast this year after playing past incarnations of the festival.

For Eminem, his inclusion on the bill speaks volumes about the saturation level of his current hit single, "The Real Slim Shady," the first offering from his "The Marshall Mathers LP." The album hit stores last week and is expected to make a big splash when its first week sales figures are released next Wednesday.
