Limp Bizkit, Eminem To Headline Tour With Papa Roach
Official spokespeople aren't talking, but Limp Bizkit and Eminem are currently hammering out a co-headlining tour that would see Papa Roach opening up for the acts.
Interscope Records, the home of both Limp and Em, wouldn't confirm the tour, but sources close to the trek say that Limp, Em, and Papa Roach are in the planning stages for a fall road trip tentatively set to kick off this October.
Sources also tell MTV News that Limp and Em will co-headline the outing, with each act rolling out a 60-minute set. While both Limp and Em are currently on the road, both acts are said to be cooking up new productions for the fall tour.
Darryl Eaton, booking agent for Limp Bizkit, told MTV.com's sister site Sonicnet, "We're in the very preliminary stages right now. I don't know how long Eminem is going to be able to stay out [on the tour]."
Papa Roach frontman Coby Dick also talked to Sonicnet about the tour, saying, "We've got ourselves mapped out through December, going out with Korn, and then Limp Bizkit and Eminem at the end of the year." He added that the Limp-Eminem tour was "not set in stone yet, but it should be soon."
Em is currently making the rounds with Dr. Dre's "Up In Smoke" tour, while Limp is getting fans fired up about its upcoming third album, "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water," with a Napster-sponsored free tour. That trek finds Limp plying its trade behind a 16-foot high chain link fence, an idea that Limp frontman Fred Durst admits was not his own.
"I got it from Ministry," Durst told MTV News at the tour's launch in Detroit earlier this month. "I saw a Ministry show back in the day, and they had no barricade and no security in the front of the show. They just had this fence up on the stage. That was the only thing separating the fans, us, from the band, and that was it. You could go up to the fence. It was, like, unbelievable. It was so long ago. I just wanted to bring it back in a different kind of manner."
Limp and its fence will hit Atlanta on Monday, Chicago on Wednesday, and Kansas City on Friday.

Limp Kicks-Off Free Tour Without A
Hitch
Limp Bizkit kicked off its Napster-sponsored free tour
without incident Tuesday night at Detroit's State
Theatre.
Over 4000 fans had lined up as early as midnight
Monday with hopes of being among the
approximately 2500 fans admitted inside the theater
for the show (see "Limp Bizkit Hands Out First
Batch Of Free Tickets").
Following opening sets by Detroit's female punk trio
Broadzilla and tourmates Cypress Hill, Limp took to
the stage and launched into a set that included
"Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored
Water," "Show Me What You Got," "Just Like This,"
"Stuck," and "Counterfeit."
Traditional concert barriers were removed and
replaced by a 16-foot-high chain-link fence, enabling
fans to come face-to-face with the band. Two eager
fans attempted to scale the fence; one made it over.
Durst pulled another fan through the fence to perform
Method Man's part in "N 2 Gether Now," which was
the first time, according to Durst, that he's performed
the song without the Wu-Tang Clan member.
The band rounded out the set with its recent addition
to the "Mission: Impossible 2" soundtrack, "Take A
Look Around," as well as "Faith" and "Nookie."
Tuesday night's show was the first in a series of free
shows by Limp and Cypress Hill. The tour is
scheduled to visit 19 cities, with Limp announcing

Limp Bizkit Hands Out First Batch Of
Free Tickets
With hours to go before Limp Bizkit kicks off its
Napster-sponsored free tour Tuesday night at
Detroit's State Theatre, it's a case of so far, so
good, as tickets were handed out to thousands of
fans without incident.
Thousands of fans are expected to descend on
each stop of the free tour, prompting some to call
the tour ill-advised at best, and a disaster waiting to
happen at worst. As anticipated, Monday's
announcement that Limp's Detroit show would be
at the State Theater sent fans rushing to the venue,
with more than 4,000 turning up by midnight.
In addition to wristbands that gain fans admission
to Tuesday night's show, Limp Bizkit dished out a
few other surprises as well. After Monday's
rehearsal, the band ventured outside the venue to
greet fans, and the first 500 would-be concertgoers
in line were given "I Waited For The Nookie"
T-shirts.
Tuesday night's show will be the first in a series of
free shows for Limp and Cypress Hill. So far, the
groups have lined up 19 dates in eleven cities for
the trek, which will see Limp announce venues for
each city within 24 to 48 hours before each show
(see "Limp Unveils More Cities As Free Tour
Launch Looms").
Tuesday's show will also see the Detroit-area
female punk-metal trio Broadzilla opening for Limp
and Cypress.

Limp Unveils More Cities As Free Tour
Launch Looms
Detroit's State Theater will be the first venue to
test-drive Limp Bizkit's free tour prototype when the
Napster-sponsored trek begins on Tuesday.
On Monday, Napster revealed the venue for the first
two dates of Limp's free tour with Cypress Hill,
prompting fans to descend on the State Theater
with hopes of making it in to Tuesday night's show.
While dates and cities have been announced for
part of the tour (see "Limp Bizkit Pushes Back
Free Tour"), venues are not being announced until
24 to 48 hours before each show. Wristbands are
then being handed out to fans on a first-come,
first-served basis before each show.
In announcing where Detroit fans can catch Limp
for free, Napster also announced eight new cities
that will see the tour roll into town. Limp had
previously announced plans to hit Boston and New
York after Detroit, and now Napster has revealed
that the tour will go on to hit Jacksonville, Florida;
Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; Kansas City,
Missouri; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Dallas, Texas;
Denver, Colorado; and San Francisco, California.
Napster also notes that additional Southern
California dates have yet to be announced.
The open offer of free Limp Bizkit tickets is
expected to draw tens of thousands of fans to each
stop on the tour, and with the outing expected to
hit venues that hold only 3,000 to 5,000 people,
many are saying that the tour is a disaster waiting
to happen.
"I think if you're putting that kind of energy
out, it's a bad thing," Limp frontman Fred Durst
told MTV News' Brian McFayden on Monday in
Detroit. "I think that our fans, our generation,
we're not those kind of people. You put people
in an environment like Woodstock, and
something like that might happen, but not
here. We're giving them water, food, taking
care of everybody. People are bringing their
own food. Everything is going to be fine. You
know, no problems here, just Cypress Hill and
Limp Bizkit rocking the house for free."
If you would like to have your house rocked for free,
