Britney, Limp, Others In "Class Of 2000" Poster

In a bit of last-minute business before the Grammy Awards are handed out on Wednesday night, many of this year's bumper crop of Grammy nominees got together on Tuesday in Los Angeles for a unique photo op.

Britney Spears, 'NSYNC, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Puff Daddy, and Limp Bizkit were among the artists who joined "Total Request Live" host Carson Daly for a "TRL Grammy Class of 2000" portrait snapped by noted fashion photographer David LaChapelle.

Tyrese, Destiny's Child, the Goo Goo Dolls, and numerous others also sat for the portrait, which will be featured as a poster available at MTV.com. Sales of the $6 poster will benefit various charities, including NARAS' music education initiatives and groups working with MTV's anti-violence campaign "Fight For Your Rights: Take A Stand Against Violence." The poster is available at the MTV store at www.whatshotnow.com.

Limp Bizkit Defy MTV

Limp Bizkit are squaring up to MTV and challenging them not to play the video for their controversial track 'Break Stuff'.

The song was attributed with sparking the mayhem that blighted last year's Woodstock riots and, consequently, the influential music station refused to play it. The band, whose high-energy stage show was singled out as the catalyst which led Woodstock 99 to disintegrate into rioting, arson and rape were warned that if they made a video to support the track, they'd be wasting their time and money.

Nonetheless, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has gone ahead and filmed a video.

Durst has apparently already shot a skate culture-styled promo for the track which insiders claim will be irresistible to MTV programmers and fans alike. The question is, will MTV stick to their guns and play Republican moral guardians or bend to overwhelming public demand and air the 'Break Stuff' promo?

Meanwhile, the band has been confirmed to record the theme track for the forthcoming Tom Cruise film, Mission Impossible 2. In competition for the job with eight other acts, including Metallica, Limp Bizkit are said to have been the favourite of the film's star, Tom Cruise. The resulting track will be released in Europe, though not in America where executives fear that it would take the heat of the band's phenomenally successful album, 'Significant Other'.
