Pictures at bottom...
The Seattle Goo Goo Dolls concert was hands down the best concert I've ever been to. Of course, as I'm 17 and only been to 6 concerts in my life, that in and of itself doesn't say much. Anyway, I got sick the day of the concert, so for awhile it looked like I wasn't gonna be able to go, and then I decided I HAD to go... so I took enough Tylenol to cure an army and drove to the theater.
My friend and I got there 3 hours early so we could get good seats. It wasn't raining (luckily!) but it was cooooold. So, anyway, we stood there for awhile, and then Johnny and Robby and Mike walked from the bus to the back enterance of the theater and I didn't see them at first, because I was reading a book I brought to keep myself entertained for the 3 hours, so I didn't get a picture or say anything to them. Oh well. So, we stood there for 2 hours and then they opened the doors to let us in. We had tickets for the 2nd balcony, which kinda sucked, but oh well, but because we got there so early, we got in the front row, so we had a clear view of the stage.
We sat there for about an hour and were kinda bored, but that's alright. Then the lights went out and Buffalo Tom came on. I'm not familiar with them, so I don't know what songs they played or anything. But they were pretty good. Not as good as the Goos, but good. Although, their sound system was messed up or something, and I could barely understand a word they sang or said. Anyway, they played for about a half hour or 45 minutes, and then there was a long intermission.
Then the lights went out again and the spot lights aimed at the audience started flashing like strobe lights, which was a cool effect, but it kinda gave me a headache. The Goo Goo Dolls took the stage and ripped right into Dizzy. In the middle of the song, Johnny said "hi everybody!" and the crowd screamed... it was really funny. Anywayz, the Goos played an awesome set, and John told a hilarious story before Name... he is SO FUNNY! The story itself wasn't really funny, but the way he told it... if he wasn't successful in rock he could be a comedian I think. lol...
So, anywayz, they played Dizzy, Long Way Down, Lazy Eye, Slide (BIG crowd reaction when the first chords started), Black Balloon, Bulletproof, Naked, Name, January Friend, Fallin Down, Full Forever, Broadway, Flat Top, Iris (another huge crowd reaction). Then they left the stage and came back for a long encore consisting of: There You Are, Burnin' Up, Just the Way You Are, Hate This Place, and Two Days in February.
All in all it was a GREAT concert... I loved every minute of it. The best parts were when Johnny was just talking lol. He is one funny guy. Anywayz, it was a wonderful concert... the songs were practically flawless, his jokes were timed perfectly, and I would love to go to many more just like it!
