Yesterday at Pleasure Island it was open stage, the audience space wasn't too big, so everyone in the back got to enjoy the concert equally, I think. Of course I got to enjoy it twice as much because I was in the first row. I must say it was a REALLY amazing concert, quite an unforgettable experience seeing the Goo Goo Dolls live for the first time, and so close! Plus it was my first live rock concert, so this was a very meaningful experience for me.

The band Athenaeum opened the show, they played for like an hour, and they weren't bad at all. They sounded fair, and most important they set the right mood to welcome the Goos. But the whole excitement began when Johnny jumped out of darkness into the spotlight and sang 'Dizzy.' It was breath-taking, heart-stopping motion going on the stage that made your whole body go totally dizzy! At that point my body started pumping blood faster and faster at the beat of the music, I swear. Robby just made everyone laugh with his funny facial expressions. His head-banging was wild, and I thought he looked so cool (and scary) making those monster-like scenes to spice up Halloween night.

Johnny couldn't look any better, the whole female audience was going crazy at his messy hair moving all over the place, seductive staring eyes, and beautiful voice of course. I think he looks like a porcelain doll with all that make-up. He was wearing the same clothes he wears in the 'Iris' video. He was the center of attention altogether truly... Mike was hiding behind the drums, I couldn't see much of him throughout the concert, but he is a strong backbone for the band. Anyway, I was having incredible fun. At the same time I was concentrating on my camcorder, making sure these guys came out their best in my video. I don't know how I did it, but I was singing, cheering, dancing, waving my arm, and recording at the same time.

These guys definitely have an electrifying effect on their audience. They were enjoying themselves up there, singing, running all over, sweating, talking to us... and their smiles are the warmest I've ever seen on a stage! :) Their charm is quite contagious... I took my sister along, (who thinks they suck). Obviously she admitted she was wrong, and admitted the Goo Goo Dolls are the coolest band at performing! She even had a few favorite songs she asked me about. The concert lasted about three hours, and these are a few of the songs they played for us:

Dizzy
Long Way Down
Burnin' Up
Slide
Black Balloon
Bullet Proof
Name
January Friend
Full Forever
Broadway
Flat Top
Iris
There You Are
Hate This Place
... and others.

My favorites were Flat Top and Long Way Down. I never imagined how exciting a live concert can get as time goes by. I must admit I didn't get enough Goo Goo Dolls, so I can't wait for the day when they will come down to perform in MIAMI...if they will. I'm a brand new fan of them, I hope they would visit a wider range of cities in the U.S.

Well, finally, I'd like to say that it was the greatest PLEASURE I've had in my life to attend this Goo Goo Dolls concert!! So far... I sincerely wish them the best of luck where ever they go!

I LOVE YOU GGD!!!
