Subject: York Goo Review show From: fabfay@aol.com (FABFAY) Date: 1997/09/12 Message-ID: <19970912115301.HAA10294@ladder01.news.aol.com> Newsgroups: alt.music.goo-goo-dolls [More Headers] Here's the review I posted on my website about the concert in York, PA on Wednesday night. The guys looked fantastic! I have the first photo up on the site--it's of all of us! The rest I'll put up tonight along with some additional info. It's hard to put it all together when my feet are barely touching the ground! ***** FabFay and the Goo Goo Dolls York County Fairgrounds, York, PA September 10, 1997 I just got home from the most INCREDIBLE experience! The Goo Goo Dolls concert at the York County Fairgrounds in York, PA. The rain in York, PA is unbelieveable!! Around 5:00 p.m. I was beginning to wonder whether the show would be held or not, but the rain stopped long enough so the Goos could put on an awesome show! The crowd was crazy about their performance which included many of my favorite songs like "Lucky Star" and "Burnin' Up." I think everyone was on their feet and a large number of fans moshed and slam danced. I was right in front of Robby--the perfect place to be at a Goo show! For the fashion conscious: John wore a black t-shirt and his hair is short. Robby was shoeless :)) and wore a black t-shirt from the Continental. His hair was about shoulder length. Mike had on a #91 jersey from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mike had arranged backstage access for us which was really cool. For those of you who have never met Mike, he is PERFECT!!! Tall, handsome, and easy to talk to. He's well aware of what going on Goo-wise on the Internet. He knew about the bands who are listed in the Support Your Local Bands area of my website (he mentioned Angry Salad) He even mentioned Goo fan, Catherine Gallager by name. Mike is a doll!!! He's definitely the Goo Goo Dolls untapped treasure! John seemed preoccupied, but was pleasant and signed everything and stayed for pictures. I asked John if he likes his hair shorter or longer--he said "shorter", then pointed to a picture that I had and said he actually liked it when it was "like that" (chin length). The photo that John pointed to was one sent to me by Andrea from the Edgefest show in Buffalo in June, 1997. Robby is ADORABLE!!!!! He called out my name "FabFay" when they first came on stage and smiled at me throughout the show which made it very special for me. Robby is the "spark" of the Goo Goo Dolls. He's relaxed, easy-going and fun to be around. Aside from family stuff, we talked about my website and he thanked me for all the promotional work that I do for the band. Did I mention that he's adorable? :) The photo of FabFay and the Goo Goo Dolls turned out great! We all look drenched and sweaty! It was the greatest Goo experience anyone could ever have!!!!! I LOVE THIS BAND!!!!
