From rphpeet@nf.sympatico.ca Wed Jul 08 09:12:47 1998 Hey guys...what are your feelings on this.... << Now, with success and the subsequent shift in stature comes other changes, one of the most notable being an additional member. There will now be four Goos on stage -- the band has hired a touring guitarist, breaking the three-man format that has been standard for the last eleven years. >> From ntdecember@aol.com Thu Jul 09 01:40:08 1998 Ah, touring guitarist. And to think my father wanted me to go to college. Hi folks - Nathan here. I was as surprised as anyone to catch that little Rolling Stone blurb (interesting that the author can't seem to decide whether I'm a 'fourth member' or a 'touring guitarist'). You know what I think would be a good job title? How about 'lifelong fan of the band'? How about 'just glad to help out'? Let's all remember: the written word can come off the page in funny ways sometimes. We all know that one of the most awesome things about the Goos has always been the power of their whole three-piece situation, and how honestly their music has come across, based on that set up. Anybody who thinks that excellence is going to be compromised is sadly mistaken. For me, it's just an honor and a pleasure to be able to help out, but I hope there isn't going to be some 3-piece vs. 4-piece shitstorm over this; it just isn't worth the energy, is it? O.k., I'm done venting like an amature. Later, Nathan From mickeymoto@aol.com Thu Jul 09 09:48:04 1998 Dude You rule!!! You made me laugh this 'morn!!!! From rphpeet@nf.sympatico.ca Fri Jul 10 10:20:25 1998 Nathan Rocks Ass!!! Long Live the Goo!!! From ptmcnee@aol.com Thu Jul 09 18:20:11 1998 Nathan, You are too funny!! :))) We are thrilled that you are working with the Goo's!!! And whoever isn't happy about it.......well.......their opinion doesn't count, thats all there is to it!! ;) The Goo's are such an amazing band, and they just get better all the time. I don't understand why it would matter to anyone how many band members there are. And I'm sure its an honor for THEM to have YOU working with them as well. :) Keep up the good work, and I'm looking forward to seeing you at one of the upcoming shows. Theresa From fabfay@aol.com Fri Jul 10 05:10:31 1998 Hmmmm. . . we could think of lots of names for you, Nathan! "Luckist-Guy-on-Earth" comes to mind quickly!! You KNOW there will be a GREAT deal of discussion about whether you'll be the fourth Goo or already ARE the fourth Goo. That's a given! Whatever your "official" title, we're all happy that you've become our Nathan Goo! Fay
