From m.v@sympatico.ca Thu May 07 14:56:21 1998 Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew why the new song by the Dolls is called 'Iris'. I really love the song. Maria From googoodolls@musicfanclubs.org Thu May 07 16:03:08 1998 Maria, I asked the guys about this, and the response from one of them was that he really didn't know, he thought Johnny just thought it was a pretty name. -- googoodolls@musicfanclubs.org http://soong.heinous.net/~goo/index.html From zipdrive@iname.com Thu May 07 17:46:38 1998 Maria, I never gave that any thought!! Good question...maybe it has something to do with the movie? I haven't seen the movie so I don't know. I'll be interested in seeing what the others say. Karen lavalamp23@iname.com From ptmcnee@aol.com Thu May 07 20:00:28 1998 Maria, I had wondered the same thing, especially after seeing the movie because I couldn't see any connection to the movie itself. And during the entire movie, I was trying to figure it all out! Good (but sad) movie. The great thing is the play a LOOOOONG clip of the Goo's song. You can't miss it even though it is the slower version. So Alex, (it was you that posted that other response wasn't it?) Johnny just likes the name, huh? :) Theresa From googoodolls@musicfanclubs.org Fri May 08 15:39:57 1998 Theresa, Yup, that's what one of them told me! From pkalenik@acsu.buffalo.edu Sun May 10 08:34:08 1998 This is just my take on this one here guys. Ya listen to the lyrics, and, mind you I haven't seen the movie, you hear "and I don't want the world to see me, cause I don't think that they'd understand, well everything's made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am." Now, looking at that, you think about what you would use to see a person, but looks canm be deceiving, and you just want the person to know who you are, or truly see you. That's my take. Later Pete From aamerlo@aol.com Mon May 11 09:30:29 1998 does anyone havre the lyrics and possibly a a simple acoustic guitar version of the song "iris" i'd like to sing it to a girl that i'm crazy for. please send it if you got it to aamerlo@aol.com. thanks a whole bunch!
