Interview with the Goo Goo Dolls in KIIS radio in the Naval Basis

BAND INTRODUCTION:
John: "I'm Johnny, I play guitar and sing"
Mike: "Mike..play drums"
Robby: "And I am Robby"

HOW DO YOU GUYS FEEL?

John: "I feel like..ugh...really..it's kind of a weird rush cuz I've never 
been on a [ship??] this big"

WELL, I GOTTA TELL YOU GUYS SOMETHING WHEN I CAME IN THE HELICOPTER TODAY 
AND YOU SEE THE JFK OUT THE WINDOW, YOU ARE KIND OF FREAKING OUT, YOU THINK 
'THIS IS PRETTY AWESOME,' YOU SEE THE SHIPS AND EVERYTHING. WHAT WAS THAT 
FIRST RUSH FOR YOU?

John: "Well, the first rush was seeing everyone in military gear, that was 
the first rush for me"
Robby: "I don't know man, it was weird. It sort of came around and it snuck 
up on me. I turned around and was like WOW! it's huge!!!!"

SO WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST THING ON TOURING FOR YOU GUYS SO FAR?

John: "Its just been really cool. We have seen stuff that we wouldn't have 
been able to see before you know? I think the biggest rush was seeing 
everybody having a good time and hanging with the guys and the girls after 
the show and you know..just have them say 'hey thanks, its really cool you 
came out here'. Cuz you know, we are in the middle of nowhere.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE WE ARE, WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN OCEAN SOMEWHERE.

John: "No, we are in the Persian Gulf, you've heard of it probably

YEAH, I'VE SEEN THE ROAD SIGNS. I AVOID THEM AND STUFF LIKE THAT. NOW I GIVE 
YOU GUYS A LOT OF CREDIT. I'VE MET YOU BEFORE AND I KNOW YOU GUYS PROBABLY 
DON'T REMEMBER BECAUSE IT'S SO TOUGH GOING FROM CONCERT TO CONCERT..

John: "Yeah, we did the Levis wall"

OH YEAH, YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME. THE THING THAT I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH IS THAT 
I HAVE INTERVIEWED A LOT OF BANDS, WHOEVER IS HOT NOW. BUT THE THING WITH 
YOU GUYS THAT I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH IS THAT A LOT OF BANDS WOULDN'T  TAKE 
THE TIME TO DO WHAT YOU ARE DOING, BUT DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING..GOING 
AROUND, IT'S GOT TO GIVE YOU A SPECIAL FEELING INSIDE

John: "Yeah, it's cool. We did some shows in some bases back in the States, 
they were awesome, amazing to play for and my opinion about the whole thing 
about coming here and playing for them..I would imagine that all these 
people would probably be coming to our shows if they were there but they 
can't be there because they are doing their job here so....go there.

YOU LATEST ALBUM, HOW IS THAT DOING?

John: "Uhm...we just went tripple platimun"

THAT IS PRETTY DAMN GOOD ISN'T IT?

Robby: "Yeah" [laughs]

NOW WHERE ARE YOU FROM ORIGINALLY?

John: "Buffalo, NY"

YOU ARE FROM BUFFALO TOO?

Robby: "Yeah"

EVERYBODY FROM BUFFALO?

Mike: "No, I grew up in Miami"

MIAMI??!! HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED?

Robby: "He was around Buffalo.."[ dj interrupts]

ARE YOU ALL BUFFALO BILL FANS?

Robby: "Uhhh...we are sort of busy.." [laughs]

John:  "I am more a fan of the Saviors I think"

ARE YOU REALLY?

John: "Yeah.."

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELVES 10-20 YEARS DOWN THE ROAD?

John: "Well...uhmm... I can't see really being a 43 year old Goo Goo 
Doll....

[Robby laughs]

John: "So...I think the most important thing is that we hang on to it for 
now, its going really good and you know, I figure in 10 years I can have a 
couple kids and probably do a lot of writing for film and stuff like that"

DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL DREAMS, ANYTHING THAT YOU REALLY WANNA ACOMPLISH IN 
LIFE?

Robby: "Well, the really special dreams we can't talk here on the radio, 
they would involve Jennifer Lopez, most of them".

[DJ TALKS ABOUT DOING SOME SHOW WHERE HE HAD TO PRESENT JENNIFER LOPEZ AND 
HE CAUGHTS HIMSELF LOOKING AT HER 'TUSH'

John: "You know, she is famous for it."
