Message-ID: <380BBF05.A06D67DF@1coolplace.com> Hey, I just wanted to tell you that I sent a SASE to the Goos a week before they were going to play (I forgot where! - the concert date was Oct. 8, I think). Actually, I did send it earlier, but I got the envelope back because of insufficient postage =P whoops, so I had to resend it again, this time much closer to the concert date. Because of this, I didn't think the envelope would make it there in time, since I do live in Canada. But, last week, the 14th, I think, I got the magazine picture I sent them back with their autographs. I just posted this because I thought that sending stuff to venues, although it is risky, there is still hope your stuff will be returned. And yes, I think it is really good advice that you send something that you don't mind (that much!) losing. Just my thoughts! If you are familiar with what the 1st vinyl (thats the plastic thing that you puut on a turntable, better known as a record player) looks like, it is very similiar. It has the red cover on the front, and the 3 pictures of John, Rob, and George on the back in the bar. I have pictures scanned from my copy of the vinyl on my website. Not exactly sure on the exact address because I am still in the middle of redoing the site, but it's at www.pce.net/joejr and then go to the albums section. I seen a copy of that cd go on ebay for 80 or so bux... Not bad, i myself like my original vinyl on Mercenary, signed too :) (sorry, not for sale) Hopefully that answered the question. jOegOo joejr@pce.net GooGooDollsOnline www.pce.net/joejr -----Original Message----- From: World of Goo To: Kristyn VanOrden Cc: Goo List Date: Saturday, October 16, 1999 8:52 PM Subject: Re: [GOO] Question....Important! >Yes, there is really a CD like that. Anyway, I've NEVER spoken to the guy before, so i figured he was just gonna ask me about some English homework or something. So i was like, Yeah?. And then he asked me to the Junior Formal. I was really surprised, so I told him I'd let him know, and spent the rest of the day and all of Sunday stressing about it. Before the Goo tour, he was in a band called Careless with Mike. After that broke up (right when Mike joined the Goos), he toured with REM on the Monster tour. After that, he had a band called Holy Bulls of which I believe he was the frontman. Now he's touring with the Goo's, but that doesn't mean he's not working off stuff still.... - Alex AOL IM: WorldOfGoo ----------------------------------------------- The World of Goo http://www.musicfanclubs.org/googoodolls/ ----------------------------------------------- On Mon, 18 Oct 1999 DizzyEyes@aol.com wrote: > Is Nathan with any other band, or just the Goos? > > Caity > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: goo-unsubscribe@mailinglists.org > For additional commands, e-mail: goo-help@mailinglists.org > > ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Oct 1999 18:14:33 -0400 To: From: "Michele Zemel" Subject: Re: GGD at Towson Message-ID: <013601bf19b6$2b5caf60$a38aaccf@mzemel> ------=_NextPart_000_0133_01BF1994.A146F720 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I'm going to see the GGD at Towson this Friday. I'm not replying to this privatly 'cause a lot of people ask this question. The question was about how to sneak in cameras. Here's how I did it: I bought two disposable cameras for 10.99 at Sam's and one was hidden in my friend's bra....no one's gonna check there...and the other we dressed up in the wrappers with tape for Always Maxi pads. lol. We dressed it up in two and left one of the thin pads in it so if you just looked at it and touched it it just felt like a thick pad. lol. It was quite funny, but it worked!! Anyway, on to the next thing: Can anyone going to the Irvine show on November 17th please e-mail me? Why do people seem to think that if they = put "Not Goo Related!" in the subject line of their emails its okay if = they post them? This is a mailing list about the Goo Goo Dolls. And = frankly I am tired of having to delete hundreds of messages that aren't = about anything even remotely GGD related. Maybe some of you can = sympathize - I don't have a computer at home. I have to participate in = the list through my email at work. Can you at least appreciate that = because of this I can't spend lots of time scanning emails? I know that = people are just going to say "What is the big deal about deleting = something?", and well, if it were a few here and there, it wouldn't be a = big deal. But it is NOT a few here and there. It is SEVERAL on a daily = basis. I know there have been arguments about this before. I have been = on this list for about a year, and I have always tried to stay out of = those arguments. But as the number of ridiculous emails increases, I = find I can't keep quiet. Can we PLEASE, PLEASE keep this list GGD = Related?? Please don't reply to the list if you have a problem with = this. Even if you agree with me, don't reply to the list. Reply to me = - tthurke@jfahern.com Let's let this be as far as it goes. Just a = reminder what this list is for. Not homecoming ideas, not "I'm having a = bad day, just thought you should know", not "I don't have a date for the = dance", and such. Not even "I heard 'Slide' on the radio!" . I hope I = am not coming across as a mean person, but someone had to bring it up = AGAIN. I know this is something technically not Goo Related (maybe I = should yell at myself) but it does affect all of us. Thanks, Teresa=20 ------=_NextPart_000_0113_01BF1A55.7E9FD6D0-- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 18:22:54 EDT To: goo@mailinglists.org From: "Kristyn VanOrden" Subject: READ! Message-ID: <19991019222256.51417.qmail@hotmail.com> Hey Peeps, Sorry for posting twice today. For all of you that got the address for me thanks! I'm gonna use the Philadelphia one though. I had someone that got that one for me instead. Okay I want to send (since i have two copies of Guild Gallery) both my copies of Guild Gallery (one for me and one for my friend in israel) to the venue where the goos are gonna play to have them sign it for me. Okay now what i want to know is should i just send it to just the venue or should i send it to Goo Goo Dolls c/o and then the address of the venue? I need to know this ASAP!!! Thanks to whoever helps me with this! Also there were a whole bunch of people who were getting either MRL or Rockline or both from me and i know i told you you can just send the money and i'll send you the tape....but could you email me if you're positive you're gonna get one or if you already sent the money cuz i wanna get started on making the tapes. So, if there are any of you who want MRL 8-8-99 and/or Rockline 8-16-99 email me and you can pay or we can work out a fair trade. I'll make copies for anyone who wants them....we can always work SOMETHING out.
