Another good place to try is http://www.gemm.com which is not really a record store, but more like a giant online music swap-meet. Not much can't be found there. All four songs were released as US promotional singles (often with edits or remixes, but, no fancy B-sides or artwork). Those also, turn up often at ebay, or gemm. When it comes to out of print or generally hard to find stuff like that, you are usually best off checking with your local used record stores first, they tend to be much cheaper than having to buy online. After you informed the list that the majority liked the jokes, it seemed like they took that as an invitation to post quite a lot more often than they used to. Now, that may be great for some people, but that kind of stuff doesn't belong on this list, regardless of who wants it, you know? Santa's Bad Day One particular Christmas season a long time ago, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip, but there were problems everywhere. Four of his elves got sick, and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule. Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her mom was coming to visit. This stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven knows where. More stress. Then when he began to load the sleigh one of the boards cracked, and the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered the toys. So, frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered that the elves had hidden the liquor, and there was nothing to drink. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider pot, and it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found that mice had eaten the straw end of the broom. Just then the doorbell rang, and irritable Santa trudged to the door. He opened the door, and there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said, very cheerfully, "Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't it a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?" I just joined the list this week because I wanted to be on a list where there were so many Goo Goo Dolls fans. I would have to say that most (around 70%) of the posts I have received so far have had nothing to do with the group. They have been posts about some inside joke that involved a handful of people or they have been one line posts along the lines of "I agree" or "me too." I wish this list was moderated so rules would be set in place for everyone to follow. Rules aren't necessarily a bad thing. They can create order where there is chaos. It makes it more bearable for all those involved. I belong to other GGD mailing lists and I have never seen the types of remarks that I have seen here. I know that there is a mixture of all age groups on this list, but young or old, some sort of maturity needs to be applied. Any and all flames should be kept OFF list. There are of no consequence to anyone but the person who chooses to flame someone else. If someone agrees with someone's post, please email them directly. Please do not post "I agree" "me too" "you can say that again" to the list. These remarks, if really needed, should go directly back to the person you are agreeing with. Just so you know, there are rules on this list, but at times' these rules need to be enforced a bit further to discourage such actions from occurring. Although I make a strong effort not to post, I felt very strongly regarding this issue that I decided to clarify a few things as well. One additional note, would be to not involve yourself like the other person had wrote in the earlier post. Just try to be aware that when an email has been directed to an "individual" no other person should take it upon themselves to send that email to anyone else; especially a list. This is not only impolite, but it takes away from the confidentiality of those two people involved. This can only lead to further problems for all those involved regardless if it is voluntary or involuntary. Luckily, this situation has not gone completely out of hand, thus far? I suspect that this will be the end of it. The original two people are currently working this out between themselves and I must say, I really have a great deal of respect for them for doing so. Therefore, if they can let it go, why shouldn't we? I had left this list many times because of such craziness in the past, and I have only been back for a only few days and regretfully I think I may have made a poor choice? But I hope to be proven wrong. But I will tell you this much, there are some really terrific and generous people on this list and we should be most grateful to those who make it worth our while. This is also a great common place for all those people (regardless of their age, nationality, and/or anything else for that matter) to gain insight and pertinent information. If we can all try to keep in mind of something which I have always stated and firmly believe in, this too shall pass. "You don't have to love someone, you don't even have to like them, just always try to respect them." We really do have a great list; one where people who are interested in maintaining a bond with others and who truly care about the music from a talented band which has given us a great gift. Sometimes we tend to loose sight of that very important fact and we all make mistakes, its OK to be human. Remember too, that everyone is entitled to an opinion, regardless if we believe that opinion to be right or wrong.
