I was suposed go to a tailgate (sorry Diana) but on my train trip down from santa barbara, there was a derailing near fullerton, so we had to take a bus from LA to Santa Ana and were forced to wait in Santa Ana for over an hour...i finally got home about two adn i called my friends in Irvine who were going with...they got to my place about 4:30ish and we left. we got there at like 5:30 or so and parked by some buses (not goo) and stood in line, which wasn't very long...at around 6 they opened the doors adn i convinced my friends to go to the floor. We were down there lik 2or3 rows of people from the floor and this guy that i was talking to in the will call line was there(hi ben) next to him and his girlfriend there was some space and he said he wanted a real fan to be there so ...i got even closer....the opening bnads were ok....the first one was great (lucky 7) then this band "nathan"- something -played adn the lead singer thought he was kurt cobain..they were okay... then fono played and the lead singer had a john rzeznik haircut...lol, and they were pretty cool...then "gun busters" came out--they were alright...but the guitarist threw his pick down my shirt...(i'm not sure if that was good or not-:P ) tonic rocked!!! the guitarist cracked me and my friends up cause he was hot and he knew it and kept coming to the edge of the stage and the girls would scream...kinda funny....tonic closed with you can only see adn it took like 40 minutes for the goo goo dolls to come on...they finally did and it was cool..i think it was diana whose wig Johnny wore...but was it diana? if so i was like 5 feet away from you!!! thier set was pretty great, though you could tell they were exhausted...poor guys...johnny was pretty cool with the crowd -who ever wrote the "Johnny Rzeznik is a puss tease" - that was hilarious!!! After teh show, i got my friends to go back by the busses..that was pretty cool, though the goos didn't sign any thing, it was still cool..... OH i almost forgot....about 2/3 rds of the way through the concert, johnny threw a pick like rickt to me - it bounced off my hand and landed on the floor -no one got it, but after the lights went up at the end -I FOUND IT!!! sorry i am just overly stoked by my Johnny Rzeznik guitar pick...lol Well - that's all folks!!:) Alyssa __________________________________________ NetZero - Defenders of the Free World Get your FREE Internet Access and Email at http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Nov 1999 19:42:33 EST To: goo@mailinglists.org From: Buxworth75@aol.com Subject: question:especially 4 goo_goo18 but all please read Message-ID: <0.4d45de94.256899f9@aol.com> pk. this is seriouse. some major bit*hes WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS. PROMPTNESS QUALITY ITEMIZATION (you got what they said they'd send) FAIRNESS (fair price, fair trade) COMMENTS So if you are a trader and you'd like to be included in the list email me at carolanne_goo@email.com and I will add your name to the list and if you've got feedback about someone you've traded with email me as well and I will post a weekly list. This way everyone will know what to expect when trading and they'll have sort of a scorecard to work from. Okay this is all I have come up with for the moment. Message-ID: <0.e8110018.2568a7f5@aol.com> Hi Everyone, I don't post messages on this list very often, but the recent occurrences of people leaving this list concerns me. Many people on this list are providing services for other Goo fans, including myself. This is one of the true benefits of being on this list, because there are people out there that want to help out their fellow fans. Some people are in other countries that don't sell Goo stuff, and they rely on this list for it. It's a shame Addie is leaving the list, because she was just someone trying to help out her fellow fans. Really people, if she gets 100 requests to copy something, do you think she's going to be able to get it out to you in a week or 2, or even a month? No. Our lives do not revolve around this list. Believe it or not, there's more to life than this list. I'm sure Addie has done her best to get you what she promised, and you need to exercise a little patience. You need to realize that people have personal lives, and that's one of the best things in life to enjoy. To Addie, and anyone else that plans to leave the list: I personally want to ask you to stay, for the benefit of those that can benefit from your input and services. You should not be the ones to leave. The impatient and unprofessional people that flame you and harass you should be the ones that leave, not you. If you're leaving because you don't like all of the e-mails, well, there's really nothing that can be done about that- but hitting that delete button is really easy, and you can really benefit from all the information and services this list brings you- so maybe you might want to reconsider. For everyone else: we are just a small part of a huge family of Goo Goo Dolls fans, and we need to treat each other as a family- with love and respect, because that's what the Goo Goo Dolls would want us to do. That's what makes this world a better place. Many friendly relationships have started because of this list, and we all know it's better to have more friends than enemies. Well, that's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it. THAT'S A LONG TIME! therefore, I thought I would write some concise...not rules, but SUGGESTIONS for the list, because we're a nice list, but we need a few guidelines. okay, try to only send one email a day. get all your thoughts together before you write. don't reply to the whole list if what you're saying only applies to one person. that would be sooooo helpful. don't send an email that says "yeah, I agree." I haven't seen much of that, but really, it's kind of pointless. and also, if you're bored, NO ONE ON THE LIST CARES. go to a chat room or something, don't clog up mailboxes. don't complain if you don't like someone's opinions. because then it just leads into some big long tiring thing that hurts everyone's feelings and gets on everyone's nerves. bite your tongue and let it pass. keep the language kinda mild. we've already talked about this. stay on topic. NO MORE "ABOUT ME" THINGS. ok, I filled one out too at the beginning, but people are getting tired of them. read all your mail before you send to the list. that way we won't get a lot of repeat emails. that's about it. I'm not pinpointing individuals here, these just seem to make sense to me as guidelines. just try to have a little consideration for other members. Steph P.S. if you are going to Buffalo on the 3rd, PLEASE EMAIL ME!!! The other listers who were there who were not over 18 like me (the oldest in the group at 23), they had to fill out a special form saying they weren't an adult yet. And by the way, anyone who saw those, I was in the segment where Matt PInfield was asking why we had gotten to the show at 11. Even though in reality, it was after 4. I was right behind Matt wearing my homemade Goo shirt, wearing glasses and holding a Goo pic. Man am I tired. I wanted to first say that the show itself was completely incredible. The Visalia convention center was no where near packed, in fact I only think there were less then a thousand people there. I loved the show, so much energy. Tonic was AMAZING. I was in the photo pit the whole time for them and that was very cool. Man Jeff is a cutie pie. Got 6 rolls of film of them. The Goos I was able to film the 1st 3 songs only and got 4 AWESOME rolls of film (they turned out SOOOOO good) It was awesome to meet Dani, Linda and Jenn and her sister...way way cool people! Dani and I went together and got there after pouring down rain and a huge accident. It took us about 4 and a half hours from the bay area. But it was well worth it. When we got to the hotel John was in the lobby and some girls started freaking out, which was annoying and they started screaming after he signed stuff for them. Saw Dave and spoke with him and Nathan as well in the lobby. At the show we saw Robby in the lobby and that was cool. Linda and I got to speak to Mike and Nathan a little after the show also. Mike took photos with us. Dani and I also took photos with Emerson and Jeff from Tonic which was cool. I gave the guys all Christmas stockings full of candy and a beanie baby and they all loved them. Nathan said he especially loved the Tobblerone chocolate orange! I still wished they would have played the bay area but let me say it was an amazing time! I will trade/sell photos also if you are interested. Also, about Addie, I have traded with her and she is reliable and has awesome stuff. Great quality and all too. Anyone going to Buffalo have fun! I'm really surprised I managed to get that much out of it. I actually missed entirely some of the songs Erika caught, and the songs I did catch were in snippets. Message-ID: <0.13a8f1c3.256977c0@aol.com> Hi, Was wondering if anyone taped the hard rock live. Exactly what is this show, is it the Rock for MS that was aired on VH! Earlier this year? I would be interested in purchasing a tape that has this on it if it is different. I also need their footage from the MTV spring breaks, the CNN thing that had G. Patroth, and the Fly 2k commercial. If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it. Oh, I also need a the I'm Awake Now video if someone has this and the quality is really GOOd. I do have some things I could trade DUTG flats, RS Mag and Guild Gallery. I could also print out print out pics from the AMA's on Kodak print paper with my Z51 Lexmark printer. When someone refers to vinyl, or to an LP, they are referring to a (usually) music record. Ya know, the old skool flat black plastic thingys that your great great grandparents used to play their Frank Sinatra discs (ok, so I'm being a little dramatic!). Vinyl in general refers to all the forms of record (7 inch, 12" inch, EP, LP, etc etc), where as LP tends to just mean a full length album on record. The abbreviation is the same as on your VCR. . .Long Play. . .as opposed to EP (again, same as on your VCR) . . . Extended Play. Every once in a while when vinyl singles pop up as conversation on this list, we have a very amusing chat about "b-sides" so I'll throw that one in as well! Just like on a cassette, a vinyl record has two sides, usually referred to as the "a-side" and the "b-side." Often on singles (7 inch or 12 inch), the song on the "b-side" is a song that isn't available on the full length album (CD). Because of that, a non-album song (such as "Nothing Can Change You") is often referred to as a "b-side" even if the song was never pressed onto a vinyl record. Any more questions, feel free to ask! The first reason for this is the pile of work on my desk now that the concerts here are over and the second but more important reason is I need to make an ammendment to the club requirements... It's great to be a fan, but always and first you have to be a good person...John himself doesn't put up with the jerks in the audience treating those around them disrespectfully with the pit action..and we should follow his example... Who wouldn't give anything to spend 5 minutes in a dark closet with John?! Cut off your right arm (just an expression) no problem...but where I draw the line is when your desire and greed to get close to the Goos we love the most; is more importanmt than the respect and acknowledgment of a fellow fan. This is really long because I tend to ramble...sorry! Excuse the dumb sentences and grammatical errors..(ie: She was nice, it was fun, we talked.) Hopefully, I won't be compelled to say them, however I can't guarentee that. I got to the venue around 2-2:15. It was supposed to be around 1:30 but my mom and I got lost for 40 minutes 'cause she refused to go the way I told her to go ("I'm driving! I know where UC Irvine is!!!!") until there was nothing left to do. There were already 20 people or so in line. I spotted Emily, a friend that I met online 'cause of goo, but turns out lives 15 minutes away from me , in line already with three school friends (bad memory, the names have slipped.) We got in line with her, and I also met a nice lady named Tiffany right in front of us. I spotted Tiffany (a different one), whom I met up with in July at the Greek Theatre. She was about 8 people in front of us. Emily and I desperatly needed to use the restroom so we got out of line...immediatly getting sidetracked by the MP3 booths. We got toooons of free stuff from them, including t-shirts, bubbles, Raisin Bran Crunch, beef jerky , and key chains. We also stole 2 of the MP3 Goo posters taped all over the campus. We went back in line and handed the stuff to my mom and Emily's friend so we could trek over to the restroom. Inside we met a lady also going to the show who gave us a hint at where the buses were. So of course we head over to where they are. Tiffany (the one I met in July), was already there along with about 5 others. We were standing on some grass next to the parking lot. There were about 9 buses in it already. After repeatedly promising Emily I would keep the Goos here if they came out, she went to get her friends and to tell my mom where I was. Jackie, another girl I met in July, showed up at the buses around then. When Emily and her friends got back we decided to make friends with the random people in the parking lot...the first one being the parking lot attendent who was really a student at UC Irvine trying to make extra cash. She was very helpful and nice and told us the Goos were not going to be there until around 5pm and are coming in a blue car. We told stories and attempted to play charades and listen to Emily's monologue, but nothing could really keep our attention. We yelled out to some members of other bands but felt bad 'cause we didn't know their names. We did make friends with the Billy, the lead singer of one of the bands called GunBurner. He told us he was from Florida , and was really enjoying touring. He promised he'd say hi to us during his band's set! Finally around 5, the blue "car" , showed up with the Goos in it.....and right behind followed 40 screaming girls. Needless to say the band was scared away by the flock of people and only waved and said hi. The few people like me who had been waiting forever were disapointed. We knew they weren't coming back out so we went back to the line after failing miserably at trying to convince someone to let us backstage or let at least our cameras backstage so they could take pics of themselves...hehehe. So we get back in line and all of a sudden the guards inform us that cameras are not allowed because the band had their images copyrighted!! We were angry because we were so excited about being able to for once! Many peopel suceeded at sneaking them in, and the Goos didn't mind 'cause they saw many people taking pics. Some people failed though, two of Emily's friends got their cameras taken away. I didn't want to take the chance with my nice camera so I put it in my car, along with all the free stuff and the Guild Gallery mags that they had there. I kept one of the free shirts to take into the venue and wrote stuff on it 'cause I had forgotten my posters. It took me a while to figure out which one of the things I wanted to write on it, but I finally settled on "Come Sail Away With Me, Dave!" on one side, and "Can I Sing With You?" on the other. Emily and I wrote stuff on our arms and hands, too. Around this time Cathy Goo arrived with stuff to give to Tiffany and Jackie. Jackie was in line with us now so Cathy and her friend joined us. I talked to her a bit , but mostly talked to her friend. They were both really cool! Finally 6pm came and after being patted down and checked by security guards we ran to the floor. I lost Jackie and Tiffany in the crowd, but managed to get second row. Emily got first row, and her friends were on my left. I was right in front of Robby's microphone =) The crowd was pretty harsh. The two girls in front of me and one of Em's friend were very rude. We are both very short and we couldn't see and they kept pushing us back even though we weren't even touching them and they kept purposely moving the the left so we couldn't see, so finally Em's friend complained and one of them said, "Look, I didn't stand in line all day so you could be in front of me!" and I said, "We're not even trying to get in front of you, we're trying to see the show. We're short...there's no need to be rude and pushy!" and some lady next to them goes, "It's only gonna get worse so deal with it!" and I say, "I understand it will get worse, but there's still no need to be rude, or be the starter of the pushing!" In my mind I was thinking, "The only reason it'll be getting worse is because of people like them!" but I didn't say that out loud. My mom had it even worse. She was in the 4th row and couldn't see most of the time and got pushed around a lot. I kept checking on her to make sure she didn't get stepped on but she refused to sit in the seats even though she complained about not being okay. The place really filled up despite there not being many people by 6....lots of late-comers. I was sore for two days after the show because of the pushing and stuff...but I didn't get hurt badly. I imagine the people int he middle got it much worse. Now to the music~ a few minutes after getting into the venue, the first band came on. There were a total of 6 bands that played and here's my opinion of them all: the first was called something like White Lie..It was White something. They were good, I enjoyed their set....especially their awesome bass player. The second band was Justin Clayton: They were alright. They wouldn've been good if you could understand a word they said. They were so quiet and mumbled, even while singing. Third was Fono. They really got the crowd going and many felt they were the best band, but I liked the first band better. The crowd really got into their set, though. After Fono was GunBurner. Billy said "hi" to us! Yay! His band was okay...lol. After GunBurner was Tonic. I was not expecting much from Tonic. I had heard 2 of their songs, one not all the way through. I liked those songs but they didn't stand out to me as exceptional. Man, was I in for a surprise! They were AMAZING! I was so incredibly impressed, as was my mom. The lead has a beautiful voice, and their music is very heartfelt and special. I need to buy their albums, man, they were amazing! They had good vibes all around...in very good moods and just had a good time. After Tonic, of course, came the Goos! They were awesome!! (well duh...) They were so great and energetic even though the bags under their eyes indicated an extreme need for a goodnight's sleep. I've wondered every time I've seen them where they get the energy to put on such an energetic show night after night. Robby from the Goos and all the other bands saw the stuff written on my hands! He was jumping around, smiling, screaming, being his jolly self the whole time! He made faces and pointed at people and was soooo adorable! Ahh! John was awesome as well =) In case you don't know about Dave and "Come Sail Away," it's a great song and is one of Dave's favorites. A year ago he'd start playing it at shows and John and Rob would get angry 'cause they hate the song. So when John started to talk I decided I'd throw the shirt I wrote on onto the stage. He picked it up and read it out loud and said, "Ahhh. This thing is for Dave, give this to David Schultz." I was happy. Then one of Emily's friends threw an elmo doll she bought onto the stage. John was gonna' pick it up when Mike got up and ran towards it. He picked it up and put it in front of his bass drum fo rthe rest of the show =) It was so cute! People threw various things on stage including two bras. John picked 'em up and said, "wow, these are nice bras. You must've payed $20-25 bucks for these." lol. He told the crowd about giving them to "big-breasted women in third world countries." When one of the girls repeatedly flashed him he said, "You know, i could sell you one of these bras here." He told both the Lottery joke and the Ricky Martin joke. They broke out into "Sweet Home Alabama" in the middle of "Flat Top" and ended of course with "2 days." They also did "Cuz You're Gone" with "A Thousand Words." It was my first time hearing it and I loved it! I was ready to scream, "Shut up! I've never heard 'A Thousand Words'," to the screaming crowd. At the end Robby smashed his bass against the floor once but John just dropped his. The set list was the same as the other shows. Robby didn't sing as much as he should have, but it was still awesome. Afterwards we went back to the buses and waited a while. My mom didn't want me to buy anything from the show 'cause of the crowd..oh well. Dave and Robby snuck into the bus. After an hour John came out and was about to sign stuff when the security guards held him back and he got back onto the bus. We pretty much knew they wouldn't come out so we left. Jackie, who stayed, said they did indeed stay on the bus and left at 12:30. It was a great night despite getting there the earliest I ever have and not being able to meet them. My mom was so good about this and I can't believe her tolerance for me...she's such a good mother she makes me wanna' cry. I feel bad for her, lol. Anyway, this is my last goo concert until the next album's tour! Ugh, I'm gonna' miss 'em! Wow, this past year has been the most Goo-ey year since I've been a fan in '95, no doubt because of the list and people who've been with me since I came online like Fay and Alex and Andrea and all those wonderful people! Thanks so much. I need to get me to a record store and by Tonic's cds. Jackie and I didn't get to give the Goos our gifts, oh well. Oh, does anyone know a place online where I can buy the MP3 concert T-shirts...'cause my mom wouldn't let me at the show. Thanks! Wow, if you read all this you're insane =) I sure as hell wouldn't. Now, since you did, you probably have read mail from the past week..I deleted it all...what's going on? Can you give me a brief update? Thanks!!!!! Love ya'll. I'm finally rested enough to actually get on my computer to give a review of these fine shows that happened in California. Looks like everyone else is just as wiped out as I was. Let's get on with this-- First up this show was held at the Bren Center and we were told in advance we were allowed cameras so everyone had brought one and things were looking pretty good for a positive evening. My roomie (who posted earlier) and I got on the scene around 1:30 p.m. I want everyone to know that she has been my friend for 10 years and our relationship is in so many ways paralle to Johnny and Robby's that I don't know what I'd do without her. NOW ON WITH THE GOOS :) We hung out around the village and bus area for the first 4 hours we were there just hoping to get a glimpse of the band. They finally arrived at 4:30 pm but were rushed into the building seeing as they were kind of late getting there. So once everyone saw them go in we all went back to the line. Not too long afterwards we were informed that all our cameras were'nt to be allowed in after all the security said it was cool as long as there was no flash so that really made people mad. There were a few of us who did sneak them in but some people were told to hide them in the bushes and come back for them later and when they did they were gone so I thought that was wrong. It turned out the GOOs TOUR MANAGER threw a fit when he found out they were allowing cameras so he fought with them for AWHILE until they made the place say no they even wouldn't allow backpacks it was pretty crazy how much wasn't let in so that was cool fine we all started to get let in. Taking our places along the stage, we were one row back behind some really cool girls on Robby's side The opening band were pretty cool the best being Fono from England, the singer was trying to be Johnny if you ask me but he worked a crowd great. We had 4 opening bands and then Tonic who were really cool to see too. Then the GOO GOO DOLLS!!! That's when the fun started. They took the stage with Dizzy and within one minute of the show a fight had broken out when this guy started slamming into another guy who had brought his 7 year old son to see the show who were up front on the rails. When the dad pushed back this guy went crazy and started hitting everyone around him including my roomie who was a trooper and stayed threw it all with a bruised kidney. They finally got hold of the guy and pulled him out and in doing so pulled him over another fan and she got hurt enough she had to be taken out too. The thing I love about the GOOs so much was that during all this they stopped singing and were SO concerned for their fans I couldn't believe the look on Johnny's face. Noone can say that he doesn't care.. He ran over and handed the chick a guitar pick when they pulled her over and when they saw it was over they went back to playing. My roomie was hurt but didn't play up any sympathy from the band but Robby gave her a look of "Are you going to be alright?" and when she said Yeah he went back into the show as well. After that it was great the band was pumped they rocked the roof off, Johnny was very playful at this show and told plenty of his "imfamous" jokes. They also got alot of things to read and then a girl threw her bra up onstage and he was like "You know we're not going to let these go to waste. We're starting a bra fund for 3rd world countrys who can't afford them." ((LAUGH)) He holds them up and looks, then contunues the song. During one a girl flashed John her bare chest and he goes and says " Hey I can sell ya a bra!" He was in such a good mood and Robby was playing around all over the stage and at one point a girl threw her Elmo doll onstage and the guys fought over it. Robby held it over John's shoulder while he was reading another letter and Mike came out from behind the drums to actually go and take it from Robby to put infront of his bass drum. Then Robby went and took it back but after Mike gave him a look for awhile he put it back infront of the drums. It was very cute. Johnny threw a guitar pick out during a song and I got it so I was happy but I gave it to my roomie since she really loves him and got hurt. Johnny was wearing a black tank top with a scruffy red happy face on it and green kacky pants. He looked so good. So they start playing the last song Robby sings "Burning Up' and the PA starts going out so you can't hear him for most of the song which I thought sucked and he found out and got mad and threw his mike stand. It really sucks that most of the time the sound goes out it's durning one of his songs. I can see why he was upset and Johnny was like "What the hell? " and Robby told him him that we couldn't hear them. The sound came back in and they fininished up the show with 2 Days in Febuary. Throwing their guitars into the drums. I was a really great show. My roomie was able to get Robby's set list too. HE WORE SOCKS! What was he thinking? LOL So afterwards we managed to get out my roomie had to talk to the EMT briefly and they told her to take care of herself cause she has a bruised kidney and we might have to take her to a doctor if it gets worse. So we ended up by the buses waiting to see them leave and they make us wait forever out there and then the TOUR MANAGER rushes them all out, when Johnny came by all the crowd of 15 starts to rush at him and he stopped and went to signs some things a couple of girls got to touch him and their TOUR MANAGER starts screaming at security to do something and security is like "What do you expect us to do! There is 3 of us and 15 of them!" Then their TOUR MANAGER turns to Johnny who is trying to be friendly with the crowd and says " THANKS FOR HELPING JOHN!" in a shity tone and then he SHOVES Johnny on the bus and slams the door. Now I don't know about you people but YOU DON"T SHOVE JOHNNY AROUND INFRONT OF HIS FANS! especially since the show the next night is in San Diego which isn't more them 45 minutes away. I don't see why he couldn't let the guys hang out long enough to sign a few things for the small crowd that was around. It's not like they had to go far and Johnny really wanted to do it or he wouldn't have be the one to stop and try. So I think their TOUR MANAGER needs to get a wake up called and know that without the fans there is no tour. You can't treat people like that and expect them to want to keep buying the records. There were alot of younger fans out there who were very DISAPPOINTED that they didn't meet their idols and that isn't right. There is a time when you have to act like that when there is alot of people around and your rushed but there weren't that many people there so it wouldn't have killed the man to let the band be nice to their fans! So that was the first concert I'm sorry this is so long but so much happened. Message-ID: <0.630a2cc6.2569d85e@aol.com> HEY ALL, ME AGAIN! Sorry but this has to be told. This was the best show in GOO history and the best day in my life! First off we got to the show later this time cause at the Irvine show my car broke down and had to be towed home, so I got to drive my boyfriends car to this one and it's a nice new black VW beetle. SO we get there at 3 pm and the campus guys park us in with the road crew which I thought was funny. I was dressed very casually in my Goo t-shirt with a picture of them on the front from the Greek show we went to in July and my cut off jeans and my zeros baseball hat on. I call it my roadie look, but some people say it's old Goo that's cool too. The only comparison is I wasn't wearing any shoes until I was getting ready to go into the show. So we're walking through the parking lot with our stuff and one of the GOO crew goes "Hey you should be wearing shoes" I just laughed. He was walking a golden retriever and I can't remember but isn't Johnny's dog a retiever??? If anyone knows please get to me. So after that we get our place in line up front with a bunch of people from the list which was cool. Everyone was having fun hanging out and my roomie and I start making our "NOTES". I was just writting them on paper since it was said awhile back that the security at most of the shows were taking them away. So I just put them down on notebook paper to fold up in my pocket to hold up later. While doing this we all spot the GOOs bus coming up the street. My roomie had her BIG camera with us incase there were shots before the show that we could get since we were told at this show they would throw you out if you had a camera. So she goes around the building to see what she can see, I hold our place in line. Now for some of you at the Irvine show you know I thought the guitar player of Tonic was a cutie also I had a roadie I liked too. My roomie comes round to me and tells me Jeff is around the other side so I'm like here have him sign this for me and I'll just stay inline so she goes off around back again, but then I decided to go with her so I took my stuff with me since this is the last show and all for us. WE get around back were the buses are and they is NO SECURITY AT ALL! The GOOS bus is RIGHT there and so is the other bands we were like COOL. So we start talking to Jeff and then he had to go. There were only 3 other girls there at the time one of them being Diana who is the biggest sweetheart. (( IF your parent ever let you off restriction please email me I have something for you from this show!!)) Anyway we're all just hanging out here and we hear the GOOS doing soundcheck they did a part of "Black Balloon" even in soundcheck they sound great. Then one of their security come out and tell us we can't hang out right infront of the stage door so we moved like 6 feet away and sat down. That's when we all started talking and I finally meet Diana. Another girl came around about that time and I can't remember may names right now cause I was so tired that day but I also have a picture with you in it too. SO the 6 of us are standing around when all of a sudden JOHNNY walks out! WE were all in shock I mean he was the last person I expected just to walk right out like that. We were all standing there in shock and he looks at us all and says " So do you guys want some autographes?" We were all like YES and we handed him our things to get signed. He was such a sweetheart!!! He also looked so TIRED I think that's why everyone there was so good to him, noone wanted to freak out or ask for too much just as long as we got something signed and he did it. THe one thing I'd been wanting to do was show him my Tattoo that I've had awhile now that is on my right ankle that is just like his old one that said GOO GOO DOLLS. HE looked and it and said "Yeah cool!" so my mission was done, then he signed Diana's shirt on the back and the funny thing was he was like "Are you sure you want me to sign this? It will ruin it." How could his autograph ruin anything!!!! HE was so mellow with everyone, then he walked off around the corner. We all were in disbelief that this actually happened. So while we were standing there one of the campus security comes up and asks if we've seen Johnny and which way did he go. We were like he's long gone. He asks us what he looked like cause Johnny's cousin just got there and want to see him so everyone points to my shirt and says "He looks like that" They guy was like OK I'll keep looking. So another guy comes out to us and says that the caterers just got there and the rest of the band wouldn't be coming out soon cause they were in eating. So the other girls walked off to get back in line and a few of us hung out with some of the opening bands and started talking to them since they were all really nice people. Gunburner started playing football in the parking lot. So we decide to go back in line and who comes strolling casually my but MIKE. My roomie says to him like, "Isn't it nice to just be so disconcerning." and he was like "YEAH it's great noone ever recongnizes me and I can just walk around. So he stopped and signed our stuff and take pictures and then goes in to eat. He's so down to earth.. So we go in the bathroom and I change into my (Johnny) shirt. It lookes like a girls version of the shirt he used to wear in 95-96 which is in the cover of the german version of Long Way Down cd. That's when I helped my roomie write her note on her chest that said GUITAR PICK PLEASE. Then we got back in line and waited to get in. I finished up my notes and wrote out another for her to hold up while she let me use her back to write on since we were about to go in. Security lets us in around 6ish. I have to pee like you can't believe so once I knew we had right infront the the rail on Robby's side and Jo's holding my place I go in search of the bathroom so I ask security and he tells me right through the doors and points over in the corner. Well there is two sets of doors one left and a bunch on the right in the corner so the right ones look like the exit and I don't want to leave I've only been in the building less then 5 minutes so I go through the left ones and run right into GOO CREW who are standing infront of the doors that say catering. I can't believe I was one door away from everyone. Now I know who these guys are by this point and now I know where I am so I play dumb and go " Is the bathroom back here cause security told me it was." The main GOO crew guy you always see onstage says to me " YOU are definately in the Wrong place". So I"m like ok and go the other way. I was dying so I finally found the restroom and pulled out my camera from were I had hide it and headed back to the front. We had 4opening bands. Lucky 7, Justin Clayton, Fono, Gunburner and then Tonic after that THE GOO GOO DOLLS. By that time everybody had things written on their hands and arms for the guys to read so everyone was doing it. People wanted their messages to be seen and didn't want then taken so the only place you could put them was on your skin. When the GOOS came out the front on the rail started hopping. It was great all the 6 of us who meet John were right up infront so they could see us. Johnny came out in his green tank top and green pants and looked beautiful as always. THey were all in really great moods. At one point I held up my sign to Robby which said SMILE ROBBY and he broke out in this huge grin and started playing around more and then my roomie showed her sign that she wrote on her chest to him for a guitar pick so he threw one to her and she gave that one to me since the night before I got Johnnys for her. She didn't expose anything else like someone had implied she did! Just the top of her chest. Then after a few songs I held up my sign that said GOO GOO DOLLS RULE! and they laughed and smiles and then my roomie had written a note on a blank t-shirt that said THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR GREAT MUSIC FROM GOO GOO DOLLS TO DIZZY UP THE GIRL. WE'VE BEEN FANS SINCE 89. LOVE JOANNA AND MISTY. HERE'S TO ANOTHER 10 YEARS. She throws it across the stage to where John's at his mic and hit him in the leg and he turns and smiles at her and says "That was a good shot!" and then he read it and said "THANK YOU!" back at her in a sincere voice. You know he never reads the emotiional ones out load just the obnoxious ones. So they go into a song and I hold up one I wrote asking Robby to do AMIGONE OR LUCKY STAR since those are my favorite RObby songs and he smiles. Then while John was singing BLACK BALLOON another of my faves I was blowing bubbles and we threw up some black balloon( like the night before just not as many) So that's about the time the "NOTES" come out. RObby goes into January Friend and Johnny starts playing his guitar infront of us to read them and he squinting cause the light was really bright then and in his eyes and he held his hand over the top to see it. Then he reads them and gets this HUGE grin on his face and shakeshis head and walks off. I was like cool he took it as a joke and liked it and also he gave us that look like I know! THen he walked off so like two songs later there's a break and Johnny comes walking back over and goes ''OK wait a minute, let me see it". So my roomie shows the chest sign and I show my PLAY "THERE YOU ARE" and he goes to her "Not those." "the thing, ya know the NOTE." she has it folded in her hand and opens it and he goes "Yeah, let me have it." So she stretches her arm up and he reaches over and takes it then takes hold of Robby's mic and says " I don't get notes like, "Hey John nice hair!" No I get Notes that say JOHNNY RZEZNIK IS A PUSS TEASE! and says "IS this TRUE! What do you think?" And the crowd goes wild and he's like "OK" walks back over to his guitar tech folding up the note, turnes round and says into his mic "Hey at least she didn't call me a cock tease" points over to her. "That's the kind of week I'm having" He says then walks the note over and gives it to his tech. I was in disbelief read my quote to EVERYONE I was dying since I've been calling him that for months and swore I'd make a sign. He just took my roomies sign which was written better but he still took it . So he'll remember her face and my words too cool. Then later I'm singing to BROADWAY with my eyes closed during one part and Robby was trying to get my attention and then he looks at my roomie and smiles then back at me and my eyes are still closed and he made faces at me and then looked at her again and did his HUMF face like he was fake upset and threw his nose in the air and walked off. TOO FUNNY. Also I think Johnny was actually considering adding THERE YOU ARE. He leaned over and asked Robby by his ear and Robby was like sure go ask then Robby started singing 2nd TIME AROUND Johnny went back and asked their TOUR MANAGER and he started bitchin and pointing at his watch so Johnny walked off with a attitude on is face but hell at least he tried. So next thing to happen is Diana gets her white and silver punk rock wig up there to Johnny he goes and takes it and say " YOU want me to wear this?!" She like yeah and he puts it on his head. " THIS is how those heavy metal guys in the 80's wore their hair". Nathan is in the back holding his hair up agreeing. So he flips his head around for awile then takes it off and goes to hand it back " DO you want it back or can I keep it?"" he askes and she's like " I want it back". He's like "Yeah you want it back so you can put it on your old man and pretend he's me!" Smiles and hand it back then goes into the next song. Oh and to prove the "NOTE" theory he comes over to our side again and gets down on his knees and playes his guitar in front of us ( which I got pi\cture\s of cause that's when the camera brigade started with disposible cameras we all snuck in. They finished with 2 days in FEb and Robby broke his bass completely into pieces all over the floor. It was the greatest concert and they ROCKED. Afterwards everyone went out to see the bus leave and they all got run past us with John with his cousin in front of him and the TOUR MANAGER pushing him along. Johnny put his hand up on the window to say bye to everyone as the ROAD MANAGER slammed the door. Then they were off. I know for a fact that that man is the most HATED MAN in all GOO circles. He came out onstage before the show and all the girls were like " THATS HIM THATS THE JERK WHOS BEEN PUSHING AROUND JOHNNY. and we all glared at him. He was very uneasy to which he should be. Anyway thanks all who made it through this far if your anyone I talked to please Email me if you want to talk or see the pictures when I get them scanned I'll be posting them as soon as I get them on the computer. Well a fellow goo friend said when she met John at a truck stop one day on their way to the next concert...she said John said "Ya Know" ALOT!!! Well for stupid fun and facts i watched the tape and counted how many times he said it......... Good Goo! This must be a record for "ya know"....ya know? John said "Ya Know".....82 TIMES in the hour show (counting commercial time) That equals to 1.36 "ya knows" per minute....LOLOLOL I was bored what can i say...but fun though. As a fellow "ya know" person...i felt like ahhhh he is human too, ya know?..lol Most of the ya knows came from him during deep thoughts of the past. I LOVED IT.....next time Robby. Robby started saying ya know alot too..but i just didn't have enough paper after John!...LOLOLOLOLOL SEE YA !!!!!! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 21 Nov 1999 19:51:28 -0500 To: From: "Nancy Casseus" Subject: Robby's Middle Name....? I know this doesn't completly answer the question, and I'm sorry if I've wasted your time in sending this to you, but I figured at least it may give people a clue to guess on! So....what names begin with C? Have a great night everyone, I'm ready to crash five straight hours of dance rehearsal later!
