Paula - babybearcat@aol.com and I - Jossel@webtv.net are still taking names of all the people that plan to participate in Jessie's FANatic idea. Since there are still some people who have missed what's going on, we've put together this explanation. Ok, here's the idea. A lot of people are excited about the idea of a mailing list concert. In addition to the other ideas being worked on, we're working on Jessies idea of trying to make something happen through the FANatic show on MTV since that's what they do. Paula and I both volunteered to accept letters and/or videos from people that want to participate. Lettrs should say things like how much we love the Goo Goo Dolls and their music, how much we'd like for some sort of private event to happen and anything else you think mught give us an edge. They should also include your full name, some sort of contact information and a pic of yourself maybe wearing a Goo shirt (optional) or holding some Goo stuff (optional) or something like that. We're open to suggestions. If you'd like to send a letter and or a video please contact us at: Stephanie Riddle Paula Gunning P.O. Box 80422 P.O. Box 615 Athens, GA 30608 Bostwick, FL 32007 The deadline is tentatively set for 1/31/2000. If you have any other questions, please email one of us. Thanks and take care! I think if everyone volunteers to make 100 flyers and distribute them, then this can work. If thirty or so people have signs too, that would rock. It wont work unless everyone does it though! If you are interested, I will be compiling a list of all the people who are willing to help. Please email back with your name and where you are sitting. I have a map of the Shea's seating chart, and I will figure out who is where. I am hoping that we can hit all the sections... Keep checking back for emails from me. I will put all of you that respond on a list and keep you updated as to the progress of our little project. This could kick ass if it works... and it could suck if it doesn't. Some of you other college students may have gotten this today, but for those of you that haven't, there is a small write up of the mp3 tour with the goos in the The National College Magazine. There's a small pic of the guys. They are free mags, so if anybody wants one let me know TODAY before they get rid of them (they're only out for one day) and I can send em to ya. It's a really small article though. It says: ...Also on board (of the mp3 tour)are the less-than-techno-savvy rockers The Goo Goo Dolls. Bassist Robby Takac admits that he and the rest of the Goos have been "slow moving into computers," but adds that "the availability of people being able to receive things directly into their homes is going to make some changes in the music industry, so when (mp3) approached us about this tour, we thought it would be a pretty good way of getting involved with it early on." The tour, which has already passed through colleges like the U. of Illinois, Penn State U., Temple U. and the U. of Florida (I personally will add MSU where I saw the goos last week!), will continue through the new millennium. The revolution these artists predict has only just begun. For the full interview with Robby takac, see www.umaga zine.com. By Brian Conant, Illinois State U. Also, on the back cover it mentions mp3.com and says that coming November 21, the Goo Goo Dolls, Tonic, Moke, Lyricist Lounge, and Fono will have video concerts on the internet. (You know, like the concert footage. I think mp3 already has a few of the goos). It's at vtour.mp3.com . Stay gooey everybody! Finally, could some nice person please please give me the address to get a copy of Buffalo Beat. I seem to have deleted that message. And, if anybody is willing to make me a copy of the entire VH1 Hard Rock Live, the Goos doing slide and Iris on Rosie, and Slide and Iris on Jay Leno, and Iris on David Letterman--if you can do any of those for me I'd really really appreciate it. I have a lot of goo stuff on tape, so I can either pay (not a lot now, just enough to cover shipping and a tape, maybe a little more) or make copies of my tapes for you. Stay gooey everybody! Emily Sorry if this got sent twice! I think it didn't send the first time. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Nov 1999 18:24:28 EST To: goo@mailinglists.org From: Curly110@aol.com Subject: GGD on TV today Message-ID: <0.77275f38.2564932c@aol.com> Hey~~ GGD was on MTV today on Total Global Request...they were jsut promoting the Fly2K...if any1 knows if/when this show repeats...please let me know...ttyl...buh bye ~~Bon Bon ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Nov 1999 17:30:13 -0700 To: From: "Elissa Zlatkovich" Subject: El Paso concert on 11/14/99 Message-ID: <00e601bf315c$16c31860$8eb81c18@computer.elp.rr.com> ------=_NextPart_000_00E3_01BF3121.67B41480 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hey everybody! I know this concert happened three days ago, but even = still, I wanted to write a little blurb about my experience. Anyway, in = a e-mail I sent to the list on Friday afternoon, I was talking about the = possibility of me getting backstage passes to meet the Goos at the = concert. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. My friend's older sister, = Jennifer, was one of three contestants in a contest sponsored by KLAQ (a = local *Goo-friendly* radio station), and in order to win she had to go = on a scavenger hunt for items that rhyme with "Goo". She had plenty of = items, considering her time was limited, but lots of them were = disqualified, so this other girl won. (For instance, Jennifer had a = picture of a *zoo* and a *Drew* Carey figurine, but the judges claimed = these things didn't count because she had to bring in the actual item. = How would you take a "zoo" and "Drew" to a radio station? That rule = eliminates almost everything I was able to come up with!) We had = another connection... a promoter for both KLAQ and KISS, and she went to = Club 101 with Jennifer to try to win passes, but that didn't work = either. So I wasn't going to meet the Goos... at least it didn't seem very = likely. My friends (Ian, Mindy and Jennifer) and I got to the concert = venue at 2:30 and went over by the busses to see if we could meet the = band that way, but there were so many screaming girls hanging around = that Johnny, Robby and Mike were practically hiding the entire time I = was over there. After about half an hour we got really discouraged and = just went to stand in line, since we had floor tickets and wanted to be = in the front row. At first we were at the head of the line, but then... = never mind, that's another story. Anyway, while we were waiting in = line, Ian spotted Nathan sitting on his bike in front of one of the MP3 = tents, so he and I went up to him and Nathan was nice enough to sign my = Japanese version of Dizzy Up the Girl and he even drew a nose ring on = the girl in the CD booklet who's sticking out her tongue!!! I got to = meet a Goo after all!!! I know Nathan isn't an official member of the = band, but he's still an awesome guy and it was wonderful to finally meet = him!!! Okay, just real quick, and then I'll shut up... I threw a buffalo Beanie = Baby onstage during Broadway, and Robby ran over to it, read the note I = had attached to its neck (it said, "For the boys from Buffalo: Johnny, = Robby & Dave. Love, Elissa"), laughed, and put it on top of one of = Mike's drums, where it remained for the rest of the concert!!! If you wanna hear more, e-mail me, or you can read my review on Fab = Fay's site as soon as she posts it. =20 Also, last call for anyone who wants copies of the 93.1 KISS FM = interview with Johnny. A couple of seconds are missing from the tape, = but it's really not all that noticeable. I'd also like to inform = everyone that my supply of "What's Up" and "Tiempo" has been exhausted, = so unless you've already gotten an e-mail from me about it, I am unable = to get you a copy. Thanks for reading all this! Have a great evening! -Elissa =3D) ------=_NextPart_000_00E3_01BF3121.67B41480-- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Nov 1999 18:44:43 CST To: goo@mailinglists.org From: "Eliza Goo" Subject: Beanie/Buffalo Residents/Looking 4 a very mean person Message-ID: <19991118004444.2909.qmail@hotmail.com> Hi all! GOO GOO DOLLS CELEBRATE 1 MILLION SPINS IN LOS
ANGELES
The Goo Goo Dolls celebrated their recent radio
accomplishment of 1 million spins from a single album
(Dizzy Up The Girl) with a rooftop mini-concert at the
Museum of Television and Radio in Beverly Hills, Calif.
on Tuesday (Nov. 16).

The band tore through the four guilty parties, "Dizzy,"
"Slide," "Black Balloon," and "Iris" for an intimate
crowd of record executives, radio folks, friends, and a
few select journalists before being presented with a
slew of plaques commemorating the accomplishment.

Before the gig, the trio joked about their upcoming
military tour, which will take the band to several
naval and army bases in Europe, including Tuzla Army
Base in war-torn Bosnia. "I'll tell you this much, I'm
not going to wander off the road to take a leak because
I don't feel like getting my legs blown off by a
landmine," said singer Johnny Rzeznik.

In addition to the gig in Bosnia, the band will also
play a show for the sailors on the U.S.S. John F.
Kennedy aircraft carrier somewhere in the Mediterranean
Sea (the exact location is classified, which, as it
turns out, is a good thing). "I'll be sitting there
with my compass so the Chechens can sink it," joked
Rzeznik.

In addition to the gigs, the band is sponsoring a toy
drive in their hometown of Buffalo, N.Y. on Dec. 1-3.
Fans who donate toys at the three-night stand will
receive an autographed photo of the band. Half of the
toys will be distributed to children in Buffalo while
the other half will make the trip to Bosnia. "We
thought as poor as the poor kids are in Buffalo, there
are kids that have it worse off [in Bosnia] so we
decided to get the Navy to fly half the toys over
there."

Just to put things into perspective with regards to the
band's radio accomplishment, it would take seven years
of total air time if you played all four tracks
back-to-back, 24 hours a day to equate 1 million spins.
"We may not be the coolest band in the world, but we're
the most fucking played band!" joked Rzeznik from the
stage.

FAITH HILL OVERCOMES RAGE IN CHART BATTLE
Country bombshell Faith Hill had little trouble
knocking Rage Against the Machine's The Battle of Los

Savage Garden's sophomore effort, Affirmation and the
soundtrack to this year's kid-crazy movie Pokemon: The
First Movie, which includes tracks by 'NSync, Britney
Spears, 98 Degrees, and Christina Aguilera, among

Pawn & at No. 13; Totally Hits at No. 14; The Artist's
Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic at No. 18; the soundtrack to
Light It Up, which includes tracks by DMX, Ja Rule, and
'NSync, at No. 19; the soundtrack to End of Days, which
includes tracks by Guns 'N Roses, Korn, and Limp
Bizkit, at No. 20; Andrea Bocelli's Sacred Arias at No.
31; Montell Jordan's Get It On ...Tonite at No. 32; at
No. 32; Jars of Clay's If I Left The Zoo at No. 53;

POLICE HAVE LITTLE HOPE OF FINDING SANDRA ROSAS ALIVE
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's department is seeking
the public's help with the Sandra Rosas case. Rosas is
the wife of Los Lobos' Cesar Rosas and was reported
missing on Oct. 23 from her home in the East Los
Angeles neighborhood of Rowland Heights (allstar, Oct.
25
(/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=InSeRtSiDhErE/pagename=/RP/ALLSTAR/article.html/fid=156695/nk=)).
Originally thought to be a kidnapping, police now say
they believe it is a homicide case.

They are currently looking for an unidentified man who
may have dropped off Gabriel Gomez, Sandra Rosas' half-
brother who is being held as the prime suspect, though
he has not been charged with the crime, at the Rosas'
La Puente, Calif. around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 23. The only
information detectives have about the man, who is not a
suspect, is that he is believed to have been driving a
shiny, red compact car. Anyone with information about
the man should contact sheriff's homicide detectives
Scott or Zumwalt at 323.890.5500.

In a statement released late Tuesday (Nov. 16),
homicide detectives said they "have little hope that
Sandra Rosas will be found alive, but are still
continuing their investigation." Meanwhile, Gomez is
still being held at the Twin Towers Correctional
Facility on a parole violation.

SNOOP DOGG PRESENTS THA EASTSIDAZ ON TVT RECORDS
Snoop Dogg just can't decide which label he wants to
call his dogghouse. First it was Death Row/Interscope,
then it was Master P's No Limit/Priority, and now the
unlikeliest candidate of all will release a Snoop
project, TVT Records, who have teamed up with Snoop's
own Dogghouse Records.

TVT/Dogghouse will release Snoop Dogg Presents Tha
Eastsidaz on Jan. 18, 2000. The album, a collaborative
effort between Snoop and childhood friends Tray Deee
and Goldie Loc, will include a plethora of rap
all-stars. Those making appearances on Tha Eastsidaz
include Dr. Dre, Xzibit, Kurupt, Bad Azz, Nate Dogg,
and Warren G.

The first single from Tha Eastsidaz will be "G'd Up"
for which a video will be filmed in late November in
Long Beach, Calif. with director Diane Martel. The
single will hit stores on Dec. 7. A sneak preview of
the track will be available on the TVT Records Web site
(www.tvtrecords.com (http://www.tvtrecords.com)) on
Nov. 22.

Snopp Dogg will remain a No Priority artist for his
solo work, but TVT remains in discussions with the
rapper to strike a more longterm deal with Dogghouse.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA: 'SPANISH AND PIANO ARE MY
DOWNFALLS'
In addition to several tracks from her current RCA
Records debut, Christina Aguilera will record several
brand new songs for her planned all- Spanish album.

Aguilera has received the translated lyrics for "I Turn
To You," and has already re-recorded her No.1 hit
"Genie in a Bottle," which was added to her album in
Spanish-speaking territories. The track is also
available in North America on the Latin Latino Exitos
compilation.

The New York native, whose father is from Equador, is
by no means fluent in the language, but says she is
doing her best. "I'm working on it," she says. "I
should be able to speak it. I'm very disappointed.
Spanish and piano are my downfalls. I wish I would have
stuck with them. I have a good feel for the Spanish
language though. I heard my parents speak it growing
up. I totally understand it. It's just speaking [it]
gives me trouble."

Aguilera's all-Spanish album, produced by Rudy Perez,
will be released sometime in 2000 on RCA/BMG Latin, but
further details are sketchy at press time.

MCCREADY GOES TO CAPITOL?
The Nashville grapevine is buzzing that former BNA
Records artist Mindy McCready is close to signing a
deal with Capitol Nashville.

The blonde country singer parted ways with BNA, her
label of four and a half years, just as third album I'm
Not So Tough was released. Although the usual "creative
differences" were cited for the split, McCready had
long been rumored to have a difficult relationship with
her label -- even openly complaining about BNA to BBC
television, in a program broadcast stateside on the
Bravo network. Insiders say the last straw occurred
when McCready mouthed off to Rolling Stone magazine
about her feelings about the label.

McCready's first release for BNA, 1996's Ten Thousand
Angels, sold over 1 million copies and spawned hits
such as "Guys Do It All The Time." Her second album, If
I Don't Stay The Night, didn't sell nearly as well, and
label execs blamed McCready's unwillingness to promote
the project for the lagging sales.

Capitol rep Karen Byrd said only that, "Capitol has not
signed Mindy McCready." Other artists on the Capitol
roster include Garth Brooks, Trace Adkins and Deana
Carter.

LONESTAR STARTS WORK ON FOURTH ALBUM
Lonestar headed into a Nashville studio Wednesday (Nov.
17) morning to begin recording its fourth album, just
as the group's current album Lonely Grill goes
platinum.

The group celebrated Lonely Grill's million-selling
status at a party Tuesday (Nov. 16) night. Lonely
Grill's sales skyrocketed after hit single "Amazed"
spent an astonishing eight weeks at No. 1 on
Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart; it still remains
in the chart's top 20.

"The normal thing in country is that a record comes
down the chart as the new record comes up," RCA Label
Group chief Joe Galante said Tuesday. "That did not
happen with this project: The new single 'Smile' is
going up while the other single is still there on the
chart."

Galante added that, with Lonestar actually selling 1.5
million copies of Lonely Grill and "Smile" steadily
moving up the chart, he fully expects to have another
platinum award party before they're through.

Lonestar lead singer Richie McDonald gave much of the
credit to producer Dann Huff. "We had some success
before this but we really feel like the turning point
in our career was the Lonely Grill project," McDonald
said at the party. "And we've gotta give credit where
credit is due: Dann Huff, I'll never forget the night
you came to our rehearsal and you said you wanted to
make this thing 'sonically correct.' We still don't
know what that means, but you did say that! And you
know what? We're going to start again in the morning at
10 o'clock."

No plans on when that project will be released,
according to BNA spokespersons. With just three singles
released from Lonely Grill so far, the label isn't
planning on retiring this platinum-seller it any time
soon.

PAUL OAKENFOLD WELL ON THE WAY TO CONQUERING AMERICA
So Paul Oakenfold's back in the saddle hoping once
again to conquer dance music in America. The fact that
Tuesday's (Nov. 16) Los Angeles show, the second on his
current North American stint, was more akin to a Limp
Bizkit mosh pit than a typical club crowd, complete
with overworked gym beefcakes, frat boys, and of course
the requisite hand bag dancers could be an early
indication that Oakey has reached his goal. Or it could
have just been a misplaced Viper Room crowd.

Kicking off with a bang, before Dave Ralph, (Oakey's
touring partner), even graced the stage, a woman
allegedly on liquid ecstasy was rushed off in an
ambulance. But the drug overtones of the early evening
faded away quietly before Ralph took to the decks. Once
there, Ralph let his chilled-out mix of breezy trance
and progressive house tunes ooze out mistily.

On Oakenfold's tour in the spring, Ralph played a
silent backseat set to Oakey's thundering, popular
sets. This time around the Liverpudlian DJ, whose
Tranceport II was recently released, asserted himself
and his laid back style. The name may not be the
flashiest, but if Ralph keeps up his current pace, he's
likely to have made himself a place among the ranks of
the DJ elite by tour's end -- that is, if he manages to
create an impression strong enough to last through a
mind numbing Oakenfold set.

Hard, dark, and full of the wonders of the unknown,
Paul Oakenfold is taking the kind of quality sets he
gained a reputation for as a Cream resident and giving
them an overseas birth. While he may throw in the odd
trance anthem inter-spliced among the white labels,
gone are the poppier sets he showcased during his
spring tour. While he's already in the Guiness Book of
World Records for being the Most Popular DJ in the
World (allstar, Nov. 20, 1998
(/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=InSeRtSiDhErE/pagename=/RP/ALLSTAR/article.html/fid=156678/nk=))
, he's said it would mean a lot for him to conquer
America, but he's attacking it this time with his
style, and with his kind of tunes, rather than a
preplanned formula for how to break dance music in the
U.S.

Coming on to the universal club chant of "Oakey!
Oakey!," Oakenfold bowed politely to the crowd before
wielding his commanding hands. As he railroaded the
night through furious trance it got hotter, sweatier,
and meaner. Only it didn't matter so much that the
crowd had been hit by flying hands in the eye or shoved
by all the testosterone-fueled young men who we're
diving every which way, because Oakenfold is a torch
bearer and his set was blinding. He was recently
reaffirmed the No. 1 DJ in the world by the British DJ
Magazine, and Tuesday it was easy to see why. By the
time his blistering set ended, there wasn't a dry shirt
in the house, and that's the way it was meant to be.

MISS TRUTH

Capitol Records hip-hop outfit Dilated Peoples have
nabbed the opening slot on the first five Rage Against
the Machine dates, beginning Friday (Nov. 19) in
Oakland, Calif. and continuing on through Nov. 26 in
Chicago. Gang Starr, who were picked by Rage to
open the tour in October (allstar, Oct. 26),
will remain on the bill as well.

The sleepy town of Kernersville, N.C., may not seem
like a rock and roll hot spot but between the tobacco
fields lies the Fidelitorium, the recording studio of
pop-producer extrordinaire Mitch Easter (Let's Active,
R.E.M., Game Theory, Baskervilles).

The Minneapolis quartet the Hang-Ups recently tapped
Easter and Don Dixon (R.E.M., Matthew Sweet) to oversee
their latest CD, Second Story (Restless).

The Fidelitorium's architectual charm and Easter's
southern hospitality made recording more like a
vacation than work. Guitarist Jeff Kearnes recalled
dogs, cats, and various barnyard animals wandering
around Easter's red-brick farmhouse. "It was like a
petting zoo!"

The Hang-Ups enjoyed the experience so much, they
penned a tribute to Easter. In "Mitch's Farm," the band
confesses the burning desire to stay with Easter on the
farm. Although it's not available on the CD, the
Hang-Ups will perform "Mitch's Farm" Thursday (Nov. 18)
at Spaceland in Los Angeles. Anyone who can teach the
band to milk a cow should attend (Donna DeChristopher).

I have to say I love where iI work!!! I work for Warner Bros!!!! that private party was sssooooo awesome, I have already told Fay that I will be doing an encounter/review for her, so look for the review/encounter when you get the chance!!! Also for going to the party, I received a free goo goo dolls cd, I dont know if its available for purchase but it's called the goo goo dolls platinum play ep: iris, slide, dizzy and black balloon, and a copy of the press release and a donna karen book, also there were flags everywhere that had their picture, I took a flag, I think it's about 4 feet!!! Well, it looked shorter in the magazine...lol. ROCKSTAR: I know you are on tour with the Goo Goo Dolls, but let's start out with C.O Jones. What are you doing with them; what's this project all about? DAVE:I wanted to put the material out, because it really shows our progression as a band. We had a coupke of songs that were older and we reworked them. The rest is mostly brand new, plus one live track. Putting it out also gives us the opportunity to thank and credit all the musicians we've worked with, and who've put up with my crap. I haven't lost sight of the desire to do my own music, even in spite of all that has happened. My ultimate goal is still to have my own music. Steve is my ultimate writing partner. ROCKSTAR: How did you hook up with Steve in the first place? DAVE: I met him fighting over a t-shirt in the Am-vets Ladies line. Right there, I knew what his dress size was. Just kidding! Actually, we maet a Lance Diamond gig, where he was filling in. We like alot of the same music, and has the same influences I do. More importantly, I guess, was that everything I couldn't do, he could and everything he coudln't do, I could. We compliment each other, and we're trying to go in a different direction than before. The new record comes out Dec. 4th, with a record release party at the Calumet. It's called 'Who Knew?'. ROCKSTAR: How is it different from your first cd? DAVE: It's alot hookier. It wraps alot of the music I have been listening to: Peter Gabriel meets Earth, Wind and Fire. Everything that's powerful to me. A couple of the songs were done for Almo Records, Garbage's label. ROCKSTAR: What did Almo want you to do? DAVE: We got a 5 song demo deal. We just finished the 5 songs when the Goos called. I had been going to school for Comouter Science, and had just got a real job. I get through training & the first day of real work, I'm complaining how much I hate it. I get home, & there's a message from Robby. He's like "Dude, can you do us a favor? We need you to play with us at Woodstock, you've got to leave tonight." So basically, I hate my job, & he think I'm doing him a favor? I fly out to Hollywood that night,& had to call work and tell them I'd be gone for a week. The Goos needed me for Iris. Originally, it was just 3 shows: Woodstock, Hard Rock Live and Arpark. After that, I'd be hoem in Buffalo. They called me in the hotel after the second day of practice & asked if I'd like to play with them permanently. My whole life changed in one day. It was at the perfect time, like a dream. ROCKSTAR: Anything really stand out from the first 6 months you were in the band? DAVE: All of my high school dreams of being a rockstar were shattered when Boy George hit on me! ROCKSTAR: What? DAVE: You think you are going to marry a supermodel & play in front of 35,000 people. It ends up being Boy George hitting on you in a bar at 4 o'clock in the morning. John & I were hammered. I'm playing the piano, & we're doing weird songs. In walks Boy George & 2 of his freaky cronies, some kind of weird bisexual, all clad in a leather thing. I start playing "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" polka style. Boy George comes over & sits down right next to me, starts rubbing my lower back & singing "Do you really want a b, job". I was outta there. He walks over to John, winds up & slaps him on the ass, & I found out later he whispered in his ear "I want to f*** your keyboard player". John blows his drink all over the piano, & we get kicked out of the bar. That was the day I realized we're living in a different world. ROCKSTAR: I saw you at the GQ awards last night DAVE: I had seen American Beauty that day, & while we were settign up, Kevin Spacey was accepting his award. I love that guy! Claudia Schiffer was standing 10 feet away ROCKSTAR: You've known these guys a long time. When did you become friends? DAVE: On tour really. I've know Robby for about 5 years, I got to know him through Lance Diamond. I've known John since I was 9 & he played in a band with my older brother. I'm really close to them now, we've been out for 14 months, & the tours ends in March 2000, after which, I'm moving to LA. These guys saved me, I can't say enough about them. The comedy arounds these guys never ends either. At the Grammy's, Robby was sitting behind Kenny Rogers. He taps him on the shoulder and says "I love your chicken". When that happened, I realized that we all had the same sense of humor. ROCKSTAR: You were telling me that you went to see Springsteen. DAVE: His management invited us in Boston. It keeps you in check to see someone like him in concert. It's a total dream. None of this would've been possible without the Goos, & my loyalties are to them. ROCKSTAR: Are you now officially a member? DAVE: No. It really depends on how things end up in the future. I'm playing on their next cd. I'm still doing stuff with C.O. Jones actually. I got our website going, it has .wav samples of all the songs. It's linked to "The World of Goo". I'm selling the record through the site, and locally, through Home of the hits and New Word Records. This record represents me finding out what I'm all about, and delving deeper into that. ROCKSTAR: What do you think you are all about? DAVE: In alot of ways, the rock world is really different. It's so full of contridictions & little paradoxes. I'm interested in layers of meanin, in things that appear one way on the surface, but once you start digging deeper, you find so much more. Digging in the dirt. That's what I'm all about. That's the stuff i'm interested in, the irony inherent in all of this stuff. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Subject: anyone who's going to the Buffalo shows Message-ID: <19991118200929.30228.qmail@hotmail.com> Hey kiddies! I just had an idea while I was in my car driving. For those who are going to the Buffalo shows and who are planning on doing the happy b-day singing for John, two things: 1) on the fliers that you send out, you may want to describe Acoustic #3 for those who may not know the name of the song (who are NEW goo fans) - something like, 'we're going to sing happy b-day to John after Acoustic #3 (song where John is on the stage with his acoustic guitar singing by himself)...' 2) someone who is close to the front could try to get Robby's attention (maybe with a sign) to let him know what you're up to - I'm sure he'd go along with it. That way John doesn't start talking over you (not realizing you're singing) or go right into another song or something. Just two suggestions that popped into my head while listening to the goos in my car! Good luck in doing this - man, I wish that I could be there! Take multiple pictures PLEASE!! anyone bringing a cell phone with them (that I could call you up on and be a part of the sing along?)??? :) -Frosty! ~~~"You grew up way too fast, now there's nothing to believe, and re-runs all become our history..." - John Rzeznik ~~~ ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Nov 1999 17:11:20 EST To: goo@mailinglists.org From: FelinaJo@aol.com Subject: Re: [GOO] anyone who's going to the Buffalo shows Message-ID: <0.65525581.2565d388@aol.com> In a message dated 11/18/1999 3:27:35 PM Eastern Standard Time, karen_bio@hotmail.com writes: << 1) on the fliers that you send out, you may want to describe Acoustic #3 for those who may not know the name of the song (who are NEW goo fans) - something like, 'we're going to sing happy b-day to John after Acoustic #3 (song where John is on the stage with his acoustic guitar singing by himself)...' >> i dont mean to add to this but heres something else you might want to think of..you might want a back up song INCASE for some weird reason they don't do ac #3 you can do it like after a song that every goo fan new or not so new would know (ie slide black balloon whatever) that can be the back up plan ya know? and i agree w/ getting robby's attention ya know "They painted up your secrets. With the lies they told to you.And the least they ever gave you.Was the most you ever knew. And I wonder where these dreams go.When the world gets in your way. What's the point in all this screaming. No one's listening anyway.Your voice is small and fading. And you hide in here unknown. And your mother loves your father 'Cause she's got nowhere to go.And she wonders where these dreams go.'Cause the world got in her way. What's the point in ever trying.Nothing's changing anyway. They press their lips against you.And you love the lies they say.And I tried so hard to reach you.But you're falling anyway. And you know I see right through you. When the world gets in your way. Okay, I've been feeling kind of guilty reading about so many of you wanting to get into the New Year's Eve bash in Times Square. Especially since I've found this (on Yahoo! Auctions in a search for Goo Goo Dolls): New Year's Eve 24 Hr. VIP Private Loft Party All inclusive private loft party in the heart of Time Square(44th & Broadway). Platinum Band Invite allows 24 hour access, beginning at 7am, to reserved private section of Time Square. Be a part of the "backstage" ongoing event all day long, watch the ball drop with the celebrities, mingle and party with the stars that are performing. All day/night inclusive access to private loft(3,500 sq. feet), catered food/open bar from 9pm-2am, live entertainment and DJ. Join the New York Knick Cheerleaders and The Goo Goo Dolls in ringing in the millenium. Bands are limited, this party is private and exclusive, any winning bidder can purchase additional bands at auction sale price. Also offering the silver band beginning at $125 and the gold band beginning at $200, call James for more info at 212-768-1441 *goo goo dolls time & presence not assured I'm not sure who this person is, but s/he is also selling Gold and Silver passes. But the Platinum is the one that lets you into everything. I believe you need a yahoo account to bid in these auctions, because it asks for a password. Anyway, I really wanted to go to this since back in June, and I thought this might be my chance to go, but since I'm going to Buffalo for those concerts, I don't have the money for this. :( I thought I might be able to help those of you who could go and pass on this information. The auction ends in 4 days. Hope one of you from this list gets it. Later, Jenn P.S. Any responses should go to googoodoll@about.com Thanks. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
