Let me explain this again. If you liked Fern when they were on tour with the Goo Goo Dolls recently, then E-mail me back just saying that you liked them. I have been talking to Jason, the lead singer of Fern, and he wants me to find fans for him so that he has a 'streamline' of fans from everywhere, so that when they go on tour or whatever, they have an idea of where everyone is! You won't be put on another mailing list by just telling me that you liked Fern. You might get mail from Jason (singer) so thats all. On the "Hold Me Up" tour, they toured with one of my favorite bands, and then Metal Blade label mates, the Junk Monkeys. If you like "Hold Me Up," I'd highly recommend looking for a Junk Monkeys Cd or two (all are out of print, but their best, "Bliss" is still pretty easy to find online. . .if you need help, just ask). Musically, they are very similar to "Hold Me Up" era Goo. I'd be happy to make an MP3 or two for people if you want to get an idea what they sound like. You can get info at http://www.bamboomgfx.com/~junkmonkeys/ I'd also like too recommend another band to you all. They are called Amateur Night, and are from San Francisco California. You can check them out at http://www.amateurnight.net Make sure you get the .net part right, if you go to amateurnight.com, you get a porn sight! I can't make any recommendations about if it is a good porn sight or not, though. But, Amateur Night is a great band, two male lead singers, great pop/rock songs. . .you can download two MP3s from their sight. If you like them, please let me know, they are also all good friends of mine. And, finally, since everyone seems to be sharing their AOL Instant Messenger IDs. . I decided to make one of my own. I'm Twister Arcade. Feel free to add me and say hello. I'm much better at chatting live than I am at email! Anyways, if you are sending stuff for me to put in the John Birthday box lets try and get it in this next week. I said the deadline was the 20th but if you really can't get it in by then it will be alright. Because I'm allowing myself a week to decorate the box and get it all ready I'll probably send it out on Tuesday the 30th. Just incase someone just joined the list or whatever and wants to send something be sure to read the bottom of this e-mail and it will explain everything. Lots and lots of gifts for John, man I wish I got that much for my birthday ^-^. If you are sending e-mails you have until Monday the 29th at midnight. It seems to be going much more smoother than the Robby Birthday Box, probably because that was the first time I had ever done anything like that. Anyways, have a GOOdnight all, If you have any further questions please e-mail me. TO ALL THAT WANT TO SEND SOMETHING FOR JOHN'S BOX: This is to everyone that has no clue what is going on here with John's Birthday Box. I'm putting together a box for John for his 34th birthday, inside will be stuff sent to me from fans, who want to send him something for his birthday. I will then send it off to Bill Reiser from the list and he will then take it to one of the 3 Buffalo shows on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd of December. I'm sending the box to his hotel in Buffalo. I think that covers it and once again here is my address to send things to: Jill Hargrove 1722 Aldridge Rd. Cortez, CO. 81321 USA Thanks all and have a GOOdnight ^-^ -May The Force Be With You- -Jill- "I hated sports, and I hated the people who played the sports, they were all idiots" *Johnny Rzeznik "But tomorrow holds such better days" *Blink 182 Adam's Song "Space may be the final frontier but it's made in a Hollywood basement" *Red Hot Chili Peppers *Califronication ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Nov 1999 20:42:22 -0500 To: goo@mailinglists.org From: Antonina Stevens Subject: Re: [goo] Goo Buffalo shows Message-Id: <3.0.3.32.19991114204222.006be2d8@mail.csrlink.net> Hi Joe- I thought you would be the perfect tour guide! I have started to compile information, pictures, quotes, reviews, etc...about the Goo Goo Dolls. I am actually starting to write a book about them and have some connections with publishing companies that may be interested in my idea. This project will take a lot of time, but I was wondering if you guys wanna help with the completion of this book. I worked at Rolling Stone and I have some BIG connections there that would be more than glad to help me get started with this publication. Not only do I know writers and critics, but I know the editor for their publishing dept. really well. I just notcied that there is no book about them whatesoever and that really bothers me. Therefore, I got the idea of writing this book. The more information I have, the better. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to email me, I'd really like to get some feedback from the list. I don't have much stuff, so getting more would be great. I also want to add more of the reactions from the fans and stuff, like concert reviews and goo encouters and stuff. I would add your name to the contributor section and notes at the end of the book. Your help is very much appreciated. I am a true GGD fan since 1989 or so, so please let me know how you can help. I was wondering. Who have the Goo's been on tour with? I know they've toured currently with Tonic and in the past Bush, No Doubt, Gin Blossoms (whoo hoo! Home town band done good! Although they are broken up and are now The Gas Giants - plug, plug!) Sugar Ray, and Fastball. But who else? The reason I'm asking is I seem to own a lot of CDs by artists who have toured with the Goos. I just bought Tonic's two CD's in the last 3 weeks, even though the mp3 tour isn't coming here. I also bought Sugar Ray's latest and Fastball's as well after I saw them live. Also, off topic here but for anyone here who subscribes to Rolling stone, I need a little help. I sent in my subscription via the internet site back on Oct 17. It says on the site you will get an issue in a few days. My card has been charged and I've called them like 4 times and I guess I am not in the computer files because they can't find me and keep taking my info but no issue comes my way. So my question is, how long did it take to get an issue for anyone who's subscribed this way? I'm tempted to tell them to just give me a credit if I aint' going to get a magazine. Also, for anyone who's done back orders this way as well, how long did it take to get your issue? I backordered the Johnny fashion spread issue around the same time as I did my subscription. I looked at the merchandise they were selling, and the only CD's that were being sold were of Tonic. . .so in other words, a live CD was not being sold @ this show. I also wanted to share about my wonderful luck. I flew all the way from Denver to Austin, and my seats for the concert were pretty bad, which was dissapointing. My cousin arrived early and hung out in the village area for a while. The first tent I went to was the Scour tent (they are having contests to win tix over the internet, and on the website it mentioned to visit their tent @ the show for more chances to win.) We talked to the guy and he said that they already gave their tixs away earlier, but if anyone didn't come to pick them up right before the show, that we could have them. As we were talking to this guy, a guy from the next tent came over and said to the Scour guy, "Are you giving these ladies some good tickets?" The guy said "No, I don't have any left!" The other guy said, "Oh, I do!" He walked over to the table and got a small stack of tickets and said "How would you like to have floor seats?" I just stood there in awe as he handed me two tickets for 7th row center section, center seats! I was so completely happy, the seats were great, and the show rocked! All the MP3 bands were good, Tonic was excellent, and the Goos rocked. We ended up with 17 people in our group by the time everything got started (with just my hubby and myself being total goo-heads). By the time the last note was played, we had "converted" the masses of our group!!!!! All day long, people have been calling for album info, etc..... The El Paso audience seemed to agree with us that this was an awesome show. I did see a few folks from this list and they did us proud with some posters, black balloons, and little gifts. ;0) If y'all have any questions...or just comments from an old fart who survived to tell the tale, just drop me a line!!!! Kimberly ;0) PS the beanies are hats, the CD compilation is from MP3 and will be mailed after the tour (don't know if it will be live, though), and the village was VERY small..... ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Nov 1999 21:38:14 -0500 To: goo@mailinglists.org From: ggd383 Subject: buffalo hotel info/rollingstone Message-ID: <3830C396.9F7546AE@home.com> hey dudes~ i need help. my friends and i really wanna go to the buffalo concert, and we have found someone who can most likely get us tickets, but i depserately need hotel information! it doesn't have to be some four-star hotel, just something sanitary and safe! and preferably cheap! so anyone who's going to the shows, who can help me out soon, please let me know! thanx:) also, i have another copy of rollingstones, with nick cage on the cover, so if anyone wants it, lemme know. thanx dudes:) ~rachel aol sn: ggd383 "if we had had fifteen more minutes..." ~robby, on the band's name ~hate this page~ http://www.angelfire.com/nj2/ggd383 ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Nov 1999 21:54:32 -0500 (EST) To: GOO@MAILINGLISTS.ORG, TTB@ONELIST.COM From: RobbieBoy@webtv.net (Rob Kaminski) Subject: For those people who were interested in a copy of "What's The Cover" Message-ID: <2444-3830C768-23279@storefull-174.iap.bryant.webtv.net> --WebTV-Mail-8128-12915 Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Hey GooHeads! Those of you who got back to me by the deadline...I asked them your question. Those of you who were tardy...I'm sorry I didn't have more time to give you more notice. It was a last minute thing. I was suppose to interview Tonic. Then it turned into Goo. Many of you have expressed interest in buying copies of the show on video tape. We don't have a crew to do that, but I might be able to make it happen. When bands appear, they can buy a tape of the show...costs are tape, edit time, and postage....usually about $35. Bands feel like that is a bargain, but I'm not sure you will think so. Karen B, Lauren H, and Rob K might think it worth it...I read your question and said your names. The guys were gracious and friendly and the show was great. For those not willing to cough up bucks, I'll try to type up a transcript for you in appreciations of you attempted contributions. I have some more crap to ask about. First my english class is doing an assignment where we write to a famous person/people. And of course I chose the Goos! What a surprise, I only talk about them 24 hours a day. Anyways, I have the address, the burbank one, and I was wondering if anyone who has sent mail to that address gotten a reply. Also would you like me to mention the list concert? PLEASE GET BACK TO ME ASAP ON THAT ONE!!! Second, I have been wondering how in the heck do you make copies of t.v. shows on another tape for other people? Could someone explain tom e how because I have a fair share of things on tape. Third, I am DESPERATELY seeking these things, Regis And Kathy Lee feet thingy Softball newsapaper article Slide on Jay Leno If you have these things please e-mail me, I can make you a copy of my interview, any tv shows I have (if I learn how to make copies) and $$$. Last, I am worried about me and being so in-love-with-goo. I mean I love them soo much that I can't stop thinking about them and talking about them all day long,, literally. So if there is anyone on the list who would be willing to help, could answer me one question, do I have a problem? I mean I'm not saying that in a bad way but I am just worried that I'm breaking the 1st commandment because I haven't really thought about how much I love God but I know I love him I just don't know if I love the goos more. Sorry for the long message I just have my things to ask about. Thanks! They were talking to 98 degrees who said what we already know - that winners will fly in a plane around the world and then end up back in Times Square for the New Year's Eve performance. But then they showed an updated commercial - I think it was updated, it seemed to be longer. Anyway - the Goos are going to get picked up in London. And it also said that the performance would be "in studio" which doesn't look too promising for those of us crazy enough to actually go to Times Square for New Year's. That's it. Goodnite. And please don't email me with questions b/c this is all I know. And if everyone already knows this - sorry - I guess I haven't been paying attention. bye bye SJ ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
