I see that we are having a resurgence of Johnny's status topic again and for that reason, I thought that I should let Johnny explain his marital status himself: According to the article in the most current issue of Rolling Stones, Chris Heath states that: For the last year they've been SEPARATED, but not in the way that necessarily leads to divorce. She's studying to be a teacher. "I don't know what's going to happen--we still talk to each other," he says quietly. "I needed to do this and nothing else. I didn't need the distraction. She wants to be with me and I want to be with her, but I don't want to do it half-assed, and right now I would." So here is the most up-to-date info on Johnny's marital status. The most recent info on his status was on a telephone interview were he talks about a stalker sending stuff to his home in Buffalo and that if his wife sees the girl she might kick her a**. I know this was from last February and YES! I know what could happen between last February to the present. But the reason I posted this interview is b/c this is the most CURRENT publication that states what Johnny said. I don't take word of mouth very seriously b/c interpretation gets f**ked up when it keep on being transferred from one person to another. If you want to continue to contemplate Johnny's martial status, go ahead and do so. BUT READ ALL YOUR EMAIL B/4 POSTING A QUESTION!! SOMEONE MAY OF ALREADY ASKED THE SAME QUESTION YOU HAVE ASKED!! As far as I know, he is separated. That's all I need to know until another publication that he done an interview on says otherwise. Thank you! Goodnight and Hope you are having a better day than me! Every so often when the list kinda die's down, one simple email causes an explosion, it happens every time, hehe. But really, I don't see why so many people are upset about it, John's marriage status may be irrelevant, but some people would like to know, the only thing that pisses me off is all the email's about it. I am sure that if someone knew on the list if John was still married for sure, they would let the list know, so it is a lost cause because we have been asking for ages. Anyways, hope all is well tonight. If you are going to send something for me to add to John's Birthday box then please e-mail me so I can give yah my address, some people are sending SASE so they are sure I got it or I can just e-mail you or whatever. Now it is a more than GOOd chance John is going to get this stuff, since I am sending it to Bill who is also on the list (thank you so much Bill) anyways, I'm sending it to his hotel in Buffalo, so we can't send things directly to him. I promise it will not get lost in the mail I will get insurance and everything on it. If you are going to send a present please try to include a $1 or whatever yah can afford because I know it is gonna take alot to send off. I will be posting a seperate message about e-mails right after this message so I know when you reply then you either want my address or me to print out your e-mail to him. I think I will set the deadline to get in stuff for John on the 17TH OF NOVEMBER that way it will give it time to get there. So get stuff in the mail to me this week or this next coming week. If anyone has any further questions please e-mail me, I will be happy to answer them quickly. Have a GOOdnight all and Happy Halloween (if you celebrate it) in advance ^-^ P.S sorry about that last message I hit enter accidently. Here is what yah need to know is you are sending an e-mail to John for his birthday: If you are sending an e-mail to John for his birthday I always go into word pad and just copy and paste you text so it doesn't have your e-mail stuff on there like the ad's at the top of the e-mails and stuff. So it won't have that on there and if you prefer a type of text you want it in I can do that too. Here are the colors of paper I have to print e-mails to him on: purple blue white peach orange pink tan yellow green they are all sort of pastel colors, not real bold. So they look nice and you can read the words perfectly. Instead of putting the e-mails in an envelope I just cut around them in those cool scissors that make like nice borders so I cut around the e-mail then I fold it over and staple it and put to John on there your name and then Happy Birthday. Unless you want something special I can write that on the outside. ALL E-MAILS NEED TO BE RECIEVED BY NOV. 18TH AT MIDNIGHT. If you have any further questions please e-mail me and I will get back to you. I understand that some fans want to guard the Goos privacy, and that is admirable. They feel it is no one's business but John's, and since it has nothing to do with the music, why does it matter? And they are right, to a point. Why do we have this list if people don't want to exchange information? Are there lines to be drawn about what is acceptable to ask, and what is not considered our business? Can we ask a birth date, but not a wedding date? Can we watch Behind the Music and BIOrhythm without prying? Ask what his middle name is and send him gifts without trespassing? People ask me my marital status, and I tell them, people ask me my age, and I tell them....or maybe I lie ;) As long as someone doesn't obsess about John's life with multiple insane postings on this list, what is the harm in asking a question? If you don't want to discuss something, don't answer. If that person is obnoxious and re-posts a million times, we can get rid of them. Chasing someone's car with mopeds down a narrow tunnel in France (sorry, another example here), sending them Boo letters, staring at them in their hotel in Italy is scary. Asking questions, whether personal, or musical, or whatever, sharing information and experiences, being excited about a band is harmless fun. Stalkers=bad, Fans=good. I think we are all fans here, and can get along, share our opinions strongly about anything Goo without hurting feelings, getting feelings hurt, or using profanity that doesn't include f*ck*ng symbols in them ;) Just be considerate about posting the same questions over and over that might already be answered or that we don't want to discuss. As John and Robby say, they hate each other 4 days out of the week, but they want the same thing, so they work it out -- like all of us. Sorry this is so long, but I had something to say. And if you are tired of reading email, then why subscribe? It may take time to wade through it all, and you only add to it telling everyone not to add to it ;) The most important stuff always ends up on Fay's or Alex's or Joe's sites anyway, if you just want to hit the highlights. They rock and definitely deserve it! :) I got my Buffalo Beat with John on the cover in the mail today. They also sent me rockstar with a Goo Goo Dolls feature in it--it's "5 questions for John Rzeznik". I don't know if anyone's typed it up yet, but if you guys wanna see it, I'd be glad to type it up and e-mail it to ya. :) (I also got some really cool dk [d][a][m][n][k][i][d][s] bicycle co. stuff today in the mail--my favorite bike company--I love BMX! esp. dirt jumping--sorry this is non-goo related, but if anyone else loves BMX/any extreme sports, e-mail me! hehe :)) So anyhow, since I got a lotta stuff in the mail today, my dad started talking to me about how I could do promotions stuff and get lotsa cool free swag. He said he was listening to NPR (national public radio) earlier today, and on the show "Marketplace" or something (anyone else happen to hear this?), they had a feature about how especially in the music industry these days, music groups/bands hire people to pretend to be fans to help promote them. They interviewed (i think) a teenage girl who loves Leonardo DiCaprio, the Backstreet Boys, and 'N Sync, but somehow got a job promoting the Goo Goo Dolls...I was like, "what Dad? are you sure you heard right? why would the Goo Goo Dolls need to hire people to gain popularity?" I asked my dad if he was sure he had heard "Goo Goo Dolls" right, and he said yea...I'm sorta not sure if he really did, but he's been peeling his eyes/ears out for them lately, and he was pretty dang positive he had heard right. But I guess everyone has promotion people. So yea, on with the story--this girl named Alyssa or other has apparently been promoting the Goos and in return for it has gotten a whole bunch of cool promo Goo stuff, swag, free stuff! Wow, lucky!--the only thing is that she's not a Goo fan! Ah well, at least she's making new Goo fans outta other people. :) So Pollstar is saying that the Goos are playing in Visalia, CA now. Wow...that's 4 or so hours away from here (Bay Area), but at least it's closer than Irvine or SD. Should this Visalia show be for real, anyone from the Bay Area--or from anywhere for that matter planning on going? Let me know. :) Hmm oh yea--one more thing. Only read on if you're bored...or need some amusement...LoL--For French, we had to make a weather forecast/report video. My 'N Sync-obsessed friend, Stephanie, just had to have our video have something to do with 'N Sync, so my other friend Cathy and I (for the sake of Steph) devised up a mock-weather report with an 'N Sync-incorporated storyline for the video. But then, Cathy, being the cool bud she is, said, "Wait--we have to put the Goos in somehow for Jen..." So this is how our video ended up being--warning--it's cheesy, but sorta funny (well it is when you watch it heh): I'm the news anchor with a special report interrupting regular programming...I have the bad news of reporting that the 'N Sync concert has been cancelled due to bad weather (oh no, big whoop...j/k). On the site of the 'N Sync concert is Cathy, giving us a weather report, and chatting with a dissapointed 'N Sync fan (Steph)...the two of 'em have a little interview...and then because we need to include French verbs in the future tense, Cathy gives a forecast of the next day's weather weather--She says that everything looks beautiful and sunny for the Goo Goo Dolls concert going on tomorrow. And brings it back to me in the studio. I say it's the end of our special report...and not to forget to go to the Goo concert. And I have Goo posters in the background while doing so. After I edited the Goo music in today (I used "Slide" since everybody in class should know it), I thought it looked pretty cool. (It was all spoken in French by the way, LOL) Turn it in tomorrow--hope it gets a good reaction. :) Okay, okay, I'm done now. Aren't you all so relieved? Hehe. :) Goodnight all, take care! :) Jennnnnnnnn signing off to go study for a damn math test...ech =T ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Oct 1999 03:28:32 -0500 To: From: "Lynn-Anne Friese" Subject: WB Radio Music Awards Message-Id: <199910290832.DAA11574@apollo.gmtcom.com> OK, so I watched the WB Radio Music Awards tonight, and I saw the Goos win the award for best contemporary/hot A/C song with "Iris" (Yay!!), but what about the other award they were up for? This also seems odd to me that the Goos would play the Paramount on the MP3 tour...it is an old theater downtown, with no place for the "village" or the multiple acts MP3 is presenting. One would think this show would be scheduled for the UW....I haven't been able to find anything there that indicates they have booked the show either. Of course it was great and I managed to hold on to my front row spot on Johns side until they came on. It was difficult though standing there from 6:30 on. Anyway there were a group of young girls behind us and their Mom had brought them, which by the way I thought was very cool of her because I don't think my Mom would have done that when I was that age. ANYWAY, before the Goos came on 2 girls, one was about 6 feet tall pushed in front of them saying they were passing threw and then just stopped right in front of them. Mind you I watched this girl and she didn't even know the words to the songs besides Slide and Iris. Anyway my point is it was RUDE and ignorant and if you are at a show and it is GA then of course we all want to get as close as we can but if you are 6 foot don't cut in front of a bunch of short people who have been standing there for hours. I felt so bad for these girls!! She's lucky she didn't try to do it to me. Well, the show was great and I was sooo close to Johnny which was the best but he didn't interact with the crowd the way I have seen him do before. He looked tired, now from reading other posts I am seeing that other stuff was going on in the crowd. I also felt a little sick and suffocated because of all the pushing but I wasn't giving up my spot !! It was awesome as usual as this was my 4th concert. My friend and I actually got to watch half of the show from backstage and saw the guys come off. We happened to go out a side door where the buses were parked. We waited around for a while to see if we could see the Goo's. Well, Tonic is touring with the Goo's and they happened to be hanging out at their bus. We got to talk to them and take a few pictures. They were wonderful and were very happy to talk to us. If you like Tonic you can go to their website and email them and Jeff (Tonic member) will write back to you. Anyway, while we were doing that I looked over and saw Nathan standing behind the Goo's bus. I walked over to him and introduced myself. He is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I only stayed a couple of minutes and left. We walked back over waiting for John to come out. He finally came out and ran and got on their bus. Too bad, didn't get to see much of him. It was a great experience and that's the end of my story. My wife and I stood not more than 15 feet from Mr. Rzeznik himself, and man, what an experience. I actually caught one of his guitar picks- my new lucky charm. Anyway, their music was awesome as usual. They played "A thousand Words" as an interlude in the middle of "Cuz You're Gone". My wife never heard that before, so she was very impressed. Cameras were allowed, so I took a lot of pics of the band during the concert. They turned out OK, but nothing really worth enlarging and framing- but that's what I get for using a disposable camera. Some people actually left in the middle of the concert- I guess they were tired of all the pushing. During "Full Forever" Robbie stopped in the middle of the song because some "assholes" (that's the way Robbie put it) were crowdsurfing and doing other stupid stuff. The only bad thing was all the pushing and shoving in the standing room in front of the stage. One poor person actually blew chunks. Another almost suffocated. One thing I noticed is that John wasn't as funny as he was at their concert in Camden, NJ. He was like a stand-up comic there, but last night he laid off the jokes. That's ok, because they were still awesome. As far as the other bands go, well there was "Moke" from London- they sucked. Then "Fono" which weren't bad, then "Thrillcraft", again, not bad and I forgot the name of the other band, but they were really good. One of them had a red-headed bass player that I thought was going to lose his head because he was banging it so much. Then came "Tonic" and they were great, too. I found out that they are releasing a new CD named "Sugar" on Nov. 9th. I'll be picking that up. They have a bright future. Back to the Goo's- my wife and I will surely miss them, because they are going overseas and then working on their next album, so they probably won't be around again for a while. We accomplished our goal of getting within 15 feet of them at a concert, so now our last goal is to actually meet them. Who knows when that'll happen. I didn't ask around at the concert, but I was tempted to ask out loudly "Who here is on the Goo@mailinglists.org mailing list? But I was so excited I totally forgot. Anyway, there's my "review". If anyone ever wants to chat, I'm on AOL- so feel free to IM me. See you later. I'm sorry to hear that you got hurt. This show sounds a lot like the Green Bay show I went to a few weeks ago. I had to give up my nice 4th "row" position that I waited hours for (which would have been 1st or 2nd row, if it hadn't been for the group of creeps who just hopped in the front of the line 1/2 hour or so before the doors opened... but that's another story) before the Goos even went on because we were getting crushed and tossed back and forth like rag dolls. Throughout the night I must have counted about 20 people being pulled out of the crowd who couldn't handle the abuse anymore. I'll never understand why people have to act like that. By pushing forward they get maybe a whole 6 inches closer to the stage, and then have to endure the rest of the show packed in like sardines. How can you even enjoy the show like that? It's nice to hear so often, though, that the Goos stop during the show to tell people to chill out and stop acting like such jerks. Most bands don't give a rat's behind if their fans get hurt during their shows, and some even encourage that type of behavior. Message-ID: <0.b603a656.254bc95c@aol.com> Hey all! I'm so pumped! As some of you may know I go to Purdue University which is in indiana. Well this weekend I made the 7 hour trip home to Ohio. I am just sittin here chillin and I decide that I'm going to read the paper. I wasn't that interested in reading the trials of the world so I decided to open up the entertainment section. I kinda thought to myself "wouldn't it be cool if there was something about the goos in here. There probably won't be though b/c they aren't coming to cleveland anytime soon." I open up to page 12 (I don't know why I went straight there but I did). Staring right back at me were Robby, Johnny and Mike! The title of the article is "Goo Goo Dolls Life is Good for this rock band". Then the caption for the picture starts off "TOO MANY GOOD SONGS". This is awesome! If anyone wants me to type out the article I will! Oh I'm so excited! I know its trivial but hey I"m excited. *kerri* ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 30 Oct 1999 00:22:47 EDT To: goo@mailinglists.org From: Sparkle627@aol.com Subject: My Gooism got me a job! Message-ID: <0.8dbdacf7.254bcc97@aol.com> Hey all, I know there's a lot of mail, but have you ever had that feeling of excitement where you just HAVE to share it?? (Like when i found out i was sitting 4th row center at the 1st Buffalo show!) Well i have that now.. See, the Buffalo News has this little section on Tuesdays called NeXt for teens/kids. Well they have this "call for writers" every year and i entered and sent in my Goo review. today i got a letter back saying i got the job, and at the bottom the editor wrote me a note : "Congrats on your Goo encounter (or non-encounter, I should say)!" So my Gooism got me the job!! LoL I know it's pretty pointless, but I wanted to share! *^*Amanda*^* P.S. If you want to read the full review (I sent in a shortened version) that I had posted to the list in August, you can go to my site at http://www.gurlpages.com/music/goo-goo-girl/concert.html. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 30 Oct 1999 00:53:42 EDT To: goo@mailinglists.org, DitZy301@aol.com, Sugar6254@aol.com, Alien628@aol.com, ADIDASR785@aol.com, GUKE2@aol.com, Tiffy1022@aol.com, PS60369@aol.com, Strawberrygurl03@aol.com, BSB013181@aol.com From: Curly110@aol.com Subject: I MET THE GUYS!!!!!!!!! I thought id say a little bit about the Temple show Thursday night in Philadelphia. The crowd was insane and the Goos rocked as usual. I had an incredibly mixed emotion kind of night. My Mom took me there as a surprise birthday gift (remember from last Tuesday when I posted how she talked to Johnny and the guys on z100 about me?) Anyway, we left at 6:30 am and didnt get back until 4:30 am Friday.....we went early and hung out basically all day in front of the venue. When the crowd got crazy and they started bodysurfing my Mom got knocked down full force and her bag went flying and she lost her wallet. Our money and return tickets back to New York were in there and we freaked cuz we didnt know what we were going to do. She was really bruised up pretty badly. At the very end of the show she located the wallet and we were so grateful. Before the show we went and saw the entire soundcheck and i met Dave and Nathan. I took pics with them and i thought they were the nicest guys. Johnny Robby and Mike were on the stage they looked and sounded great. The show itself seemed faster than the Levis fuse tour over the summer. Johnny didnt tell any "stories", and even the band intro flew by with no extra words said. I think they must've felt the crowd is nuts lets get them done and out y'know? Whatever, I think they are the best live. I just wanted to say that my Mom is such a "doll" LOL that she said even though she got hurt that she would do it all again to give me that experience of being right in front of the stage. Thats love right? LOL Oh. and one more thing we held up a sign so that they would know who we were after having spoken to my Mom on z100 and Johnny and Robby both saw it (they couldnt miss it cuz we were directly in front of Johnny's microphone) and smiled at us and then cracked up as they nodded their heads as if to say.....oh yeah its them! lol Well, that's it in a nutshell I guess, and if anyone wants to know details about anything about Temple, IM me or e-mail me and ill answer your questions. Oh and for those Johnny lovers out there let me just sum it up in one word.........PERFECT!!! LOL Bye!! ~Heidi~ ------------------------------ End of goo Digest ***********************************
