On August 19, 1998, I went to our annual Erie County Fair for the day.
I was having a good time walking around the fairgrounds.
At about 7:00 p.m. I went into the outdoor music dome because
I saw that Lance Diamond, a Buffalo lounge musician, was
going to be playing. Lance has played a few songs with the Goo Goo
Dolls at some of their Buffalo shows in the past.
I was sitting there waiting for it to start when I noticed a guy sitting
a few rows ahead of me who looked familiar. He had on a baseball hat, sunglasses
and an eyebrow ring. He was sitting with a security guard that used to work
at the clubs where the Goos had played. So, I went up to the guy in the
hat and it was Robby! He graciously gave me his autograph.
We talked for a bit while we were waiting for Lance to come out.
He was very friendly and down-to-earth.
After that I saw him again and this time had a camera, so I got a
couple of pictures taken with him.
It was the best time I have ever had at the Fair.
