I checked my e-mail on Friday morning, I received an e-mail from my friend
saying that Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls was going to be at
Blockbuster for an in-store appearance. He was going to sign autographs
and promote Edgefest, which was a concert happening the next day. The Goo
Goo Dolls headlined Edgefest that was sponsored by 103.3 The Edge, local
radio station.

At about 6 p.m. the Goo Goo Dolls walked into Blockbuster. Johnny, Robby
and Mike made an appearance. I had a gigantic smile on my face because I
was electrified to see all of them. Being the first person in line, I
talked to all the band members and I got all of their autographs. They
were willing to sign my Goo Goo Dolls CD's and pictures.

I had a little conversation with Robby Takac, bass player and singer. I
got real nervous when I spoke to him, I couldn't believe that I was talking
to my idol. I waited 2 years to finally meet him, I was so excited to just
see him in person let alone talk to him. We talked about the school I
attend, West Seneca East, because he graduated from there in 1982. I was
happy to finally meet them and they seemed delighted to be there.

But my weekend wasn't over, I still had Edgefest to attend on Saturday.
Edgefest was probably one of the best concerts that I have ever been to. I
was only a few feet away from the Goo Goo Dolls and I enjoyed every minute
of it. The concert was exhilarating because the bands were full of energy
and everyone had a great time. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend
and I will never forget the adventures I had with the Goo Goo Dolls.
