Title: MY PERSONAL HALIFAX GOO SHOW REVIEW/STORY
Post by sympathy_0 on Nov 22nd, 2006, 5:03pm
OMG what a night. heres how it went.

-I left school at 10:50 and went home. I got ready for the show, put my goo "outfit on" and went to the store and bought some stuff then we were on out way. We left at around 1:30, and got there around 4:30. We were going from Cape Breton to Halifax soo. Lol. Any ways, once we got there at 4:30 there wasn't much of a line. We were third. But there was more doors. So we stood in the freezing cold for two hours, and made some friends (Named Amy and Brittany). So then they opened the doors (they stood in front of it counting down the seconds taunting us lol) and t hey finally opened the door. I went through the metal detector and then ran! First i went in the wrong door, then I found the right one. I could see the gate from the top, and NO ONE WAS ON IT. As i proceeded down the stairs my feet gained more and more feeling, but i got to the thing, then ran for the gate :). I GOT ON IT! At first i was inbetween the mics then they switched it so John and Robbys Mike were on one side of the stage, so i was off them a little. I was standing right in front of a speaker too, but it wasnt that loud.

The opening band was good, but i was getting a little impatient lol.

When the goo's were about to come on, there was this tanting music, getting louder and louder. Of course, when Mike came out first i freaked out, But i didnt hear anyone else. I was like looking around saying "WHATS WRONG WITH YOU ITS MIKE!" and then John and RObby came out and i freaked and lost it. I was going spastic! They began playing there set immediatly:

SWY
Slide
Black Balloon (Memory gets fuzzy on order here)
Better Days
LLI
We'll be here (when your gone)
Smash
Tucked away
January Friend
Sympathy
Name
Naked
Iris
Broadway
Feel the Silence
Encore:
Become
GALB

All the songs were good. John made comments about free speach, the dixie chicks (which i thought was rude), George Bush, Moving to Canada, Needing a canadian wife, etc.

My sign said "I love Polish Buns" he laughed at that. Me and two people next to me (one i had just met) started doing the arm wave thing and John laughed and was like "Oh you guys". I was freaking over Robby, because i love the man, and i made a heart with my hands around his head, and he smiled right at me and made this cute frustrated-happy-oh well face at me :).

There songs were good, John cursed alot (lol), his voice was clear and stroing, Robbys voice was amazing.

Things that disappointed me about the concert:

-John seemed more focused on the female fans more than the fans as a whole, which kindof bugged me. Robby was great though, seemed kind and a sweetheart, I enjoyed him alot.

-I was sad Robby didn't play more songs off the new album and songs in general. He's really underrated

-John threw a pic into the crowd and my friend caught it, and after buying her the ticket, driving her up there, buying stuff for her (food, dye, etc) she didn't even give me the pic OR say thankyou at the end of the show, OR when we dropped her off  >:( . Shes note ven that big of a fan, she sang along to 3 songs. Iris slide and SWY. Totally p issed me off lol.

-There was a girl behind me shreiking at the top of her lungs, and i had to plug my ears, she was louder than the speakers which were right in front of me centre stage.

-I didn't get to make skin contact with ROBBY! or johnny grr. lol

BUT OVERALL IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCED OF MY LIFE :d

I want to see thema gain! thats it! PICS SOON!
