The Goo Goo Dolls tweeted this today ...

I also received this article in an alert:

May 11, 2011

"Good Morning America" announced its sizzling 2011 Summer Concert Series lineup with the hottest chart-topping acts in the country and the biggest names in music.

From mega-watt stars including Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Jennifer Hudson, to pop sensations Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, all Top 11 American Idol contestants, Taio Cruz, Florence and the Machine, and The Goo Goo Dolls, to country superstars Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert, there's something for everyone this summer. Plus, don't miss the best nostalgia acts with The GO-GO's in a 30th anniversary performance, and Debbie Gibson and Tiffany on stage together for the first time.

"GMA's Summer Concert Series" kicks off on May 27 in an exclusive television event with the revolutionary Lady Gaga performing songs from her new album "Born This Way." This first concert will be a ticketed event, details to follow.

Summer Concert Series at Rumsey Playfield

The Summer Concert Series will be held for the third year at the Rumsey Playfield in Central Park.

Viewers interested in joining "GMA" in Central Park are encouraged to arrive at Summerstage Rumsey Playfield via the 69th Street entrance on Fifth Avenue at 6 a.m., when the park opens to the public.

With the exception of Lady Gaga being a free, ticketed event, all concerts are free and open to the public and will take place live during "Good Morning America," Fridays from 7 to 9 a.m. ET. Dates and additional acts will be announced throughout the summer.

Mmm...not me. Had to work last eve and this eve, so no way I'm going into NYC for 6AM. gah. That, and with all this yucky weather, that's gotta be tough to play outside. Hope it went okay for everyone.

But I saw them perform in Wallingford on Wednesday, so I'm good. Great show!

I DVRed it but haven't had five minutes to even watch it today. I'm going to try to watch it later tonight.

DWG ... didn't you love the older stuff? I saw them in Rochester Hills on Sunday. It's was great hearing the old SSCW stuff. Made my night.

Yeah, the heat seems crazy all over North America - Michelle Branch did a concert in a bikini top!

Oh, it made my night hearing the old songs. It's kind of like the crowd is split in two...half of us are singing along to the old songs, and the other half are more well-versed in the more recent songs. You're either in one camp or the other.
There was a guy behind us somewhere in the crowd who kept yelling, "Long Way Down!!!" all evening, lol. I wish.
The set was good, though, I can't complain.

PS: my sister lives in Rochester Hills.
