Title: Greatest Hits Wish List
Post by djgeneral on Jan 21st, 2008, 1:22pm
"I'm Awake Now"
"Wait for the Blackout"
"Don't Change"
"Lazy Eye"

I've got all their studio albums, greatest hits, complation, and live CD (minus their debut!) and on the 2nd greatest hits disc, I really want good quality versions of the above four listed. I never heard Wait for the blackout or don't change and for some reason im thinking they won't be on it. but as long as i can at least get i'm awake now and lazy eye, i would be super happy!!

Besides those four songs and their studio albums and what not, is there any other goo goo dolls songs/johnny songs? (I have the treasure planet/transformers songs/)

I don't think they'll put the ones Johnny did on his own on there, because they aren't Goo Goo Dolls songs (I always get angry when websites say they are >.<)
I'm not sure what I'd like on there...Maybe a new version of Stop the World (a girl can dream, right?!)...I dunno, whatever they put on there is good for me. Except for Lance Diamond. *shudders*

I'd love to have a new recording of their Fleetwood Mac "I Don't Wanna Know" cover.  I always loved that one.  But I doubt that would ever show up on there.

Anything that was a "demo" would be great too...

I'm not picky, I'll take what we get. ;D

I'm just hoping for some unreleased stuff. Well, that and the Give a Little Bit house techno remix. ;)

Even if it features "contributions" by Mr. Glen Ballard? :P

My wishlist would be 12 cds filled with stuff that we don't even know exists from 1986-2002.

That's not going to happen, so here's my guess for what will be on the new cd, based on absolutely nothing.

1. Lazy Eye
2. I Dont Want To Know
3. Stand Alone
4. Tuesday
5. Dont Change
6. Nothing Can Change You
7. studio version of A Thousand Words
8. American Girl (either live or studio)
9. unknown old song
10. unknown old song
11. acoustic version of an album track
12. acoustic version of an album track
13. new song
14. album track (This is due to the fact that nothing they have done in a while made complete sense and this album needs to have something to piss me off)
15. another album track (see #14)
16. new cover song
17. remixed song that you cant hear any difference in
18. GALB: The Dance Mix (obviously)

What's Tuesday?

I'd love for the following to be on the GH2 cd:

I Don't Wanna Know
Lazy Eye
I'm Awake Now
American Girl
Don't Change
Tell Me Something I Don't Know
acoustic versions of some of their singles that we've never heard before (say, an acoustic Eyes Wide Open or Stop the World and things like that... a girl can dream right? LOL)
great live versions of songs like All Eyes on Me, Domino (yes I'm dreaming again LOL)
...and I think I better stop now or else I'll just get disappointed if not even one of those listed makes it to the cd LOL

Tuesday was a track that appeared on the original tracklist for LLI.  It was removed shortly after and John made some comment (without naming the song) that something had been removed because it was BAD.  We know it wasn't just a made up track that accidentally appeared because it is registered with ASCAP.

I hope we get Tuesday even though Ballard has writing credits on it.  If it was deemed BAD for LLI,  then it will either be epically terrible or infinitely better than anything that made the cut.

Hahahaha you know that will happen. And it won't even be that old. It'll be Truth Is A Whisper. Or EOAC 2 Days.

Ugh.  I can see them putting the new Two Days in February or Acoustic #3 on there.  Dammit.

And one thing I would like to add to my wishlist that is more reasonable than the 12 cds is that the booklet is more informative than GHV1.  I would really love for them to include a brief write up about whatever songs they give us that were never released, explaining why they never made it to an official release and why they have chosen to release them on GHV2.

I think some people missed what I put in my org. post.  ;)

Are there any other officially released songs from the Goos besides the soundtrack songs I listed, transformers and treasure planet?

I know about the yardbirds song and the live song with fred durst of limp bizkit. any other songs from goos or solo john???

I'm confused. :P

Are you asking us what we want to hear on GHV2, or are you asking for a list of their "rare" songs? 'Cause for me those are two completely different things. Haha.

Here's another:

John did a cover of U2's All I Want Is You, for a Les Paul & Friends album.

I've heard this is the list for the CD. (Now set for an April 15th release)

3. Take Me Out
6. Lazy Eye
12. I'm Awake Now
13. Bitch

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but how do you claim to know only four of these songs when you listed two others in another thread nine days earlier? (Not to mention the fact that you claimed to know the setlist of GHV2, and now are making a wishlist for it...)

And then there's this, where people attempted to help and were apparently ignored...

Not all of them.

From Drew's list:
Stand Alone - only appeared on promo copies of ABNG
Silent Night - bootleg
White Trash Wagon - live bootleg
King Of The Road - live bootleg
I See You Everywhere - ripped from Chris Isaak show

I think the rest were all officially released somewhere or another.

I thought that White Trash Wagon was sang by johnny in a radio show because he liked the song alot. Or is it also covered once?

Silent Night was officially released on a KROQ cassette called How the ... stole Christmas.

Didn't John, like, hate Slide and Dizzy when he first wrote them? Makes you wonder how bad it really has to be for them to chuck it...
