I'm obligated to comment because of the 12/29 date, which will forever be hilarious after last year's Goo community discussion of that date...

What's upscale casual attire?  Is that like a sweater and jeans, except that they have to have name brands and cost a lot?

Oh, right, and very cool of the Goos to do a charity gig.

Okay, I'll bite.... what was last year's great discussion of 12/29? I'm afraid I can't recall :P

Haaaaa.... I forgot about this post and just got to laugh all over again.  It didn't happen on WOG.  Basically, some people will say absolutely anything to support the Goos and it somehow came out that every day from about 12/27 through 12/30, but especially 12/29, is also New Year's Eve and that this is very common knowledge.

We need a book written about the GGD internet community.  It's more fascinating than the band these days.

It's probably better that way.

I completely missed this conversation last year. Somehow I feel lucky ;D

hehe, I remember it, not all of it, but the I remember the gist of it. It's the major reason I no longer participate on the messageboard of the site where it was discussed.

The tournaments are dead to me anyways. Plus, my favorite lyric is about to be eliminated. So suspend away.

And I don't love Goofan anymore. Gage Naylor has replaced him.

Hang on... I'll send you a PM.  It's going to be terribly anti-climactic.

What's your favorite?

Can you send me a PM too. I totally don't remember that from last year.

Is anyone here going to this benefit? If you do go, I'd love to hear about it.

OK...the video is not popping up yet, so I will post the link now. There is a video of the guys from their February show, just scroll down a bit and you will see it. When I see this gig, I'll let you know...

The set list from this show :

SWY
Slide
Feel The Silence
Black Balloon
January Friend
GALB
Become
Naked---worst intro ever! blah..
Name
BITL
Slave Girl
Broadway
LLIn
Acoustic #3
Iris
Encore was Petty's American Girl

You always know when John is on a dark stage cuz all the screaming starts. At first I thought the sound was really awful, it seemed wayyy too loud but I guess I got use to it after awhile. They moved along with the show..and seemed well rested..happy to be back on stage. Someone had a sign which John took note to, I think it had to do with the holidays, etc. They gave the guitar away after Name and these two hot babes came out on stage, and John smiled "Excellent!!" A young boy won it.  John thanked everyone for paying the Nebraska State Lottery, cute. And then John walked closely behind the girls as they walked off stage.  lol  Then he went on to say how he loves being an uncle so he can show all his sisters' kids bad stuff. lol (I think)..It was during Slave Girl when it struck me odd that Korel could pass as Robby's kid brother! lol  Had big screens on both sides of the stage..not many true fans were there, so it was fun for them not having to get crowded.

Interesting note..I met a woman who said that this organization tried to get the band for last year's show (SmashMouth performed instead), but the band wasn't available.

I just remembered the performer for next year's show...according to my sources it is going to be Rick Springfield. I think it is very nice these performers do this show for the kids..

Thanks for the review (and welcome to WOG).  What intro did Naked have?  The drum solo one, the piano-y synth-y one, or something completely different?

A quick search tells me this show was on 12/30/06.  The Goos played in Niagara Falls on 12/29/06 ( ::) is all I'm going to say) and then Anaheim, CA on 12/31/06, so it would make sense that they couldn't make it between those two dates.  Pretty cool that they did it this year since they couldn't do it last year.

Welcome to WOG Calla. Thanks for taking the time to write a review for us. I hadn't heard much at all about this show. :)

I haven't forgotten about you guys...apparently the webmaster has decided to go on a honeymoon, so I patiently wait.

Someone asked about the Naked intro...I don't really remember..it was just really off.... and short.

Peace,
Calla
