I'M BACK!!!!

Did you miss me or even notice I was MIA? Stupid computer. The hard drive completely crashed. They were able to salvage NOTHING from my old hard drive. I lost everything. I lost my music, pictures, etc. It's a sad, sad day for me :'( But I have a new hard drive now and it's bigger and better. I also have a DVD-r drive so I can back up my videos now. So I'm trying to look at it like a spring cleaning session.

I lost everything. So all those old threads with the cool acoustic stuff....everything. It's a sad, sad day.

I've never been good at doing backups because I didn't have the right drives to do it. But now I do so I'll do better at it. I had most of my pictures backed up but none of my music.....with the exception of CDs I own. But all the bootlegs, etc. are gone, gone, gone. :'(

Yeah, Shannon, if there's anything in particular you're missing I'd be happy to see if I've got it.

Actually, I've got a handful of bootleg CDs at my disposal and I was thinking I'd just rip them and post 'em up at some point anyway... I don't really listen to live shows much, but I feel like it's such a waste to hold onto them and not let anyone else get the chance to hear. So if/when I upload stuff I'll link it in this thread. :)

Oh, and just for future reference, try using mediafire.com instead of yousendit. The files last for an unlimited amount of time, instead of the yousendit ones running out in a week... unless of course you only want the links to work for a week... ;)

That 96x acoustic radio show is awesome. I've never heard that one before. So if the 96x & 99x are the same shows which one is the right number? I just want to label everything correctly.

99x. �It's a radio station in Atlanta. It's from 1996, which is probably where the messed up title came from.

Haha, whoops. Google says there's a 99x in Atlanta so I'm gonna assume that's right, since all the evidence I've got for 96x is a number scribbled on a CD with a sharpie by someone other than myself. :P

It's okay. My cd also says 96x and it's in MY handwriting. There is a 96x in Norfolk (?), but I'm pretty sure this show was in Atlanta.

It's not the first thing in the history of the Goos that's mislabelled. I have a concert video that's labelled with a venue the Goos never played as far as I know. Someone who used to post here and myself spent a long time trying to place it with no luck. I think I eventually made the authoritive decision that it was a private show that was never listed anywhere.

I just watched it and I'm not sure either. John did actually play the guitar so that was nice. And during 1000 words he was all sweaty and just rubbing his hair. Maybe that's what has everyone in a dither about it. :naughty: :devil:

How does one only get 2 tracks from a bootleg? Did you just stop downloading or did someone really just randomly give you two tracks?

Ohhhhh. The Vegas concert makes me so happy. It was the very first bootleg I owned and the first live thing I heard from the Goos. I recorded it off the late Sunday Live Edge on WEDG. That concert was also the first time I heard about half of those songs. :D

Like the time my friend won that trip to the Moscow Music Peace Festival from MTV, and on the plane trip to Moscow she taped the musicians on board singing "Desperado". Now that's a bootleg. Someday if I get desperate, maybe I'll sell that cassette.

OK, no offense, but I'm pretty sure that I'm Still Here and Lazy Eye can be bought legally still - Lazy Eye is on the European/Australian import of the Iris single, along with I Don't Want To Know. And I'm Still Here was released as a single so you should be able to order that from stores still. So you wouldn't need to fork out for the whole Batman&Robin album, or the Treasure Planet album, just the singles. Which would be eminently affordable... ;)

Chris Isaak. It's from when the Goos were on his show (2002). I don't really know if it's confirmed that the Goos were actually the backing band for that particular recording or if it was just them fake playing to the song. Either way, I love that song so much. :D
