Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars' tops UK's all time favourite track poll

London, Dec. 28 (ANI): Snow Patrol's hit 'Chasing Cars' has been voted the UK's favourite track of all time in a new poll by Virgin Radio.

The song is the third single from Snow Patrol's fourth album 'Eyes Open', which was released in July 2006 in the country. It won the top position by beating American alternative rock band Goo Goo Dolls' hit number 'Iris', which came in second in the poll.

On the third position was U2's 1991 hit rock ballad 'One', which was voted as having Britain's Best Lyric.

According to the Sun, the fourth position was obtained by famous British rock band Oasis' song 'Wonderwall', which was at number 99 in the UK's list of best-selling singles in 2005, and frequently appears in "best-of" single polls.

The list of the nation's 500 best tracks was made according to votes cast by Virgin Radio listeners. (ANI)

YEah but all the other songs are old, and Chasing Cars is a very new song, so its most known and people like it so thy probably voted for it. In 5 years would Chasing Cars top it?

Who knows? It's been 8, almost 9 years since Iris came out, and it's #2. I'm not saying Chasing Cars is that good--There's a grammatical error in it!! I swear, "If I lay here, if I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world?" Wouldn't it be "lie" all three time?--But it's possible that it'll be that popular.

That makes it even more surprising that Goo Goo Dolls were number 2. I would think the Irish band U2 would be more popular.

Did any body ever see that commercial a couple years ago at Christmas time, where the little girl woke up her parents. and they went downstaris, and it was, like, the most amazing array of Christmas gifts ever, and the dad says "What kind of cookies did you leave for Santa, honey?"
"I didn't leave him cookies. I left him cheese."
That's, like, the best commercial ever.

That's not what their myspace says.

Or this:

And Wikipedia also agrees that they are from Ireland:

Haha yeah, they're definitely Northern Irish- from Belfast I think. But they got their record deal in Glasgow Scotland so maybe thats where the confusion came from.

But yeah, coming from N. Ireland makes them British lol
