If anyone has already posted this, I apologize for doing it again...but I found this article that says the Goos will be headlining an opening night event that benefits the children's hospital in L.A.  I love it that they're always doing GOOd in the world!  :)

MAGICS ATTENDEES SET TO GO GOO GOO OPENING NIGHT
Released: Tue Jan 31,2006

Multi-Platinum Rock Act The Goo Goo Dolls Headlines MAGICs Opening Night Event Benefiting Childrens Hospital Los Angeles

Woodland Hills, CA (January 31, 2006) Continuing its much-anticipated tradition, MAGIC International has announced that The Goo Goo Dolls will Give a Little Bit back to the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles as the headliners of its opening night party on Tuesday, February 21.  A highlight of one of the fashion industrys busiest weeks, the charity event will be held at The Joint and Body English in the legendary Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The Goo Goo Dolls, who enjoyed a spot on Billboards top 10 last year with their single Give a Little Bit, a remake of the Supertramp hit, were an unknown trio from Buffalo, N.Y. until they climbed the charts in 1995 with their single Name from the album A Boy Named Goo. In 1998, their song Iris from the album Dizzy Up Girl was featured in the movie City of Angels, and spent 18 weeks on the charts, earning the band three Grammy nominations. The bands newest album, Better Days, was released this month and will be accompanied by a cross-country tour kicking off in Los Angeles on February 4.

Great music for a good cause is what MAGICs opening night party is all about, said Laura McConnell, Vice President and General Manager, MAGIC International.  Were proud to be associated with Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and thrilled to make The Goo Goo Dolls the latest in a long line of outstanding performers headlining our charity event.

The fashion industry is recognized for its commitment in generating awareness for numerous charitable efforts, and MAGICs Opening Night Party reflects its ongoing efforts to give back to the community. Over the years, MAGIC has raised awareness and funds for childrens charities with Opening Night Parties featuring Seal, Duran Duran, Maroon 5, The Black Crowes, and many more.

Tickets for the February 21 MAGIC opening night party will be $65.00 with all proceeds going to the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Tickets can be purchased by calling (877) 5544834. For more information, please visit www.MAGIConline.com.

Hang on, my head just exploded from all the inaccuracies in this paragraph.

A prize to whoever counts how many errors there are... ::)

Oh, but no, it hasn't been posted.  And it makes me so proud that the Goos do such great things like this.

nmf016, LOL!!  ;D

I think there are...let me see...at least five errors there  :shakehead:
1. "Give a little bit" never reached the Top 10, as far as I know, but it made it to the Top 40
2. The single "Iris" appeared on the City of Angels soundtrack BEFORE Dizzy Up the Girl was released
3. -5. Better Days is not the album title, it wasn't released this month, and they're definitely not on tour yet!!  ???

You can tell how much time I have on my hands   ;D but there's probably more errors I didn't catch

Yeah, that sentence is definitely the worst, seeing how it has three blatantly wrong facts in it, but I think I like this one the best:

Iris spent 18 weeks at #1 on the Billboard airplay charts, and nearly a year on that chart, which still holds the record for the longest stay at #1.  18 weeks on a Billboard chart is pretty common, but to be at #1 that long is crazy.

Hehe, I think "Iris" was on the charts for more like 81 weeks instead of 18 . . . :P
