Title: Your Ultimate Live Setlist? - *New Challenge*
Post by UpYours on Dec 11th, 2004, 11:38pm
*This has probably been done before, but what would you consider to be your ultimate live setlist? I've only seen them live once in 2002 on the Gutterflower tour, but based on what I like on the studio albums I'd like to see something along the lines of (19 Songs, as in Live In Buffalo):

Big Machine
Stop The World
Lucky Star
On The Lie
There You Are
Slide
Tucked Away
A Million Miles Away
I'm Addicted
Domino
All Eyes On Me
Flat Top
We Are The Normal
Lazy Eye
-------------
Fallin' Down
Slaughterhouse
Long Way Down
-------------
Iris
Up Yours/Slave Girl

Ok, so that's a little unrealistic but I wouldn't have any complaints if they pulled that out.

I had to cheat and add Slave Girl, but oh well. Up Yours is short anyways.

the entire superstar car wash album would be my dream live setlist and then just to make it a full set I'd add lazy eye, two days in february, there you are, on your side and some of their covers, don't change, I don't want to know, nothing can change you, and million miles away

I haven't heard most of the B-Side/Compilation/Soundtrack songs, but I probably should when I look at those.

Fallin' Down would be an awesome opener. I can just imagine the drums coming in right at the beginning.  I put it into my first encore instead of Just The Way You Are.

From the last few years, it sound like they turned down the volume on alot of their harder songs and John sounds more adult top 40 rather than that drunk very scratchy voice parents don't aprove voice. I remember hearing the goos live for the first time on the radio around 95 and John sounded drunk, depressed, and very scratchy. I love that voice!! hehehe.

Right now is still, cool, but I missed the older dayz. When performing, John looked really depressed, really into the music. Now when he sings a song like "Naked", he looks happy..hehe.

I like how John sang out of key on Up Yours; one of my favourite songs, obviously. :D

So if they were to play two nights in a row like they did for New Years Eve Eve and New Years Eve, what would you have them play if it was up to you?

Night 1:

Big Machine
Just The Way You Are
Lucky Star
On The Lie
There You Are
January Friend
Tucked Away
A Million Miles Away
Hey
Already There
All Eyes On Me
Flat Top
We Are The Normal
Lazy Eye
-------------
Fallin' Down
Slaughterhouse
Stop The World
-------------
Iris
Up Yours/Slave Girl

Night 2:

Dizzy
Long Way Down
String Of Lies
Another Second Time Around
Ain't That Unusual
You Know What I Mean
Road To Salinas
Truth Is A Whisper
Eyes Wide Open
Burnin' Up
Hate This Place
Bullet Proof
James Dean (w/ full band jam at the end)
Nothing Can Change You
-------------
Only One
Tell Me Something (w/ completed lyrics)
What Do You Need?
-------------
I'll Be There For You/Up Yours
We Are The Normal

WOW! I never considered 'fallin' down' as an opener before but that would be soooooooo cool. Personally I wouldf love for 'Hey,' 'So Far Away,' and 'Only One' to be added to their set list. Also, if I'm not mistaken, I think that they mentioned something about the fans voting on the set lists waaaaay back in the web chats in may.
That would be far too cool!!!
