2007 was the year I got into the Goo Goo Dolls! My older brother had been listening to them years prior so I was familiar with their songs. One day I was putting music on my new mp3 player and I listened to Slide over and over again. I'm not sure what it was that caused me to fall in love with that song, but something triggered in my mind. That summer the Goos were coming to Kansas City and I so desperately wanted to go. At the time, I was seeing someone and I asked if she wanted to go with me and she basically alluded that she'd only go if I paid for her ticket. I was so desperate to go that I considered it. All I have to say is, it's a good idea I didn't end up buying tickets because we broke up a few weeks later. I was always disappointed that I didn't go to that show, but three years later I got to see the Goos finally! It all worked out for the best. Fun fact: I got up for Homecoming Queen my senior year of high school and they do this formal assembly where you and your date walk down a "red carpet" type thing in your formal wear. Well anyway, each of the candidates got to pick an entering song and an exiting song. My entering song was "Slide".

2008 2008! GHV2 is released! GGDs play the UK and a couple US shows. They pretend they're making an album but instead just give us one song, Real. Real was originally released as part of the US Olympics soundtrack. The first music video had clips with US athletes. Here is the original music video and an Olympic interview. http://www.mediafire.com/?3jzs08tpmcckqt4 http://www.mediafire.com/?73qdx9zkvpaqgk3 (Please let me know if these did not work. Mediafire was being mean.) Personally, 2008 was a lot of fun. I stepped into a chatroom on a whim, made some friends, and ended up on a lot of wild rides because of it. Oh, also, I got to see Another Second Time Around the first time it was played in a longggg time.

2009 ALMOST THERE, GUYS. 2009. The GGDs made SFTROU v1.0. They entertained us with a generous number of studio videos. They played an ice skating show. Wait, what? Obviously, first of all, studio cam videos are an awesome thing to go back and watch again. Second, if anyone missed it the first time around, here is Improv Ice. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CMCKY09A http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PWI6TSA4 This is about 2 gb total. It's the big version I sent Ronnie at the beginning of the year so you may already have this. (The next two days will be 2010. Tomorrow will be 'past' 2010 and Tuesday will be 'just happened a couple hours ago' 2010 if all goes as planned.)

August 31, 2010 Something For the Rest of Us is released* I have yet to see them called sell outs, but I am sure it is coming. The GGDs appear on Sirius' Coffeehouse to play an acoustic show. http://www.mediafire.com/?7yaoo8x1jb2w4cj Thank you to everyone who has participated. I had a lot of fun remembering the history of this band and it sure made that last month go by fast! Now go listen to SFTROU! *Yes, it has been released other places. I started this as an American-centric project, I am sorry.
