You may have noticed that the registration button at the top is missing. I've done this because I'm tired of all the spam accounts registering.
So if you want to register here send me an email at [email protected] with the screenname you want to use and your email. Your password will be emailed to you automatically. If it's a spam account I won't be registering it at all. I realize this is a HUGE pain in the neck but you have NO idea how frustrating all the spam accounts are. This is the only way I can control it until we get a board upgrade....which is coming soon.
I really do apologize for the inconvenience but I just can't take the spammers anymore.

It won't bother any of us who are already members....but I'm sure anyone new will find once they register with you, it will be well worth the extra steps!

I like this idea for the sole reason that it will probably reduce the number of emotional NGAB viewers who post after each episode.  (Seriously, we need to prepare.)
And I want Shannon to not lose her mind of course...

I just noticed I originally posted this 9-11-07. I commented that we would be getting a board upgrade soon  It's been 2 YEARS and we still haven't gotten that board upgrade. Oh well. We're still kickin' anyway.

It's for the best to make hurry with the update. Standard forum scripts like this one are used by a lot of websites and therefor they make good targets for hackers. If they find a bug they'll write a robot to scan the internet for forums that use the same version so they can exploit it.
I know this because they took down one of my forums in the past too, although that didn't really matter because I only used it to play a game for a month and abandoned it after that.
I hope the next update will have a CAPTCHA when you register. Ever since I installed one on my website, I went from 10 spammers a week to 0 in over a year. And all mine says is "How much is 5+5?".

I agree but I now don't see an upgrade at all. MFC has vanished again. I really have no idea what's going on with them. But as long as they let us keep our board it's all good.
It helps tremendously having people register through me. I realize it's a hassle but it keeps the bots out.
