The whole suitcase thing may be a possibility. Though I'm going to Europe so it'll be a long flight. I've taken yoga classes and pilates classes, but I'm not nearly that flexible.
I believe you need a passport to cross the border if you are traveling by air. You won't need a passport for overland crossing until 2008.

Yeah, sorry, it's not that you need a passport now, but everyone will need one in a year or so, so people are getting them now. In some places there are 8 month delays for passports.
