I have to post this because it is such a cool story....

A guy by the name of Zachary Nipper won a Grammy for Best Recording Package for the Bright Eyes cd Cassadaga (released back in April). This guy has NEVER taken an art class....ever. A few days after Cassadaga was released, a woman who works for the Foo Fighters called Zach asking if he would be interested in designing the next cd cover for the band. He said...no, he is too busy! lol BTW, FF won Grammys for Best Rock Album (Echoes, Silence, Patience Grace) and for Best Hard Rock Performance.

And it looks like Amy Winehouse is still pissing people off...lol

The Grammys confuse me now. It seems they used to honor artists for actual artistic merit (with some hits and misses, of course) and the nominees weren't always the most popular and highest charting songs/albums/artists. Now, the Grammys seem like a big ass kissing event where they try to get the most popular current artists to boost their ratings, and pretty much guarantee a Grammy to anyone who performs. Even looking at the red carpet pictures or events surrounding the Grammys, most of the people present weren't even musicians.

I don't even know where to begin on the Amy Winehouse thing. Hey, kids, want to know the best way to win awards and be called the second coming of Christ? Get hooked on drugs, write a song romanticizing your drug use, marry another addict and criminal, get arrested for possession, enter rehab a few times, repeatedly cancel or not show up to shows, thus treating your fans like shit...
