Happy Forth of July!! I hope everyone had a great day!
I didn't do anything too exciting or celebratory. I climbed a mountain in the morning and then in the afternoon I rode two horses and long lined a young horse.

See...now this sounds very exciting to me. Consider me fairly horse ignorant but what is "long lined a young horse" mean?

My day was fairly low key. I went dress shopping for a wedding I have in Vail next weekend. And I did sparklers with the kids when it started to get dark.

Isn't it when you like, lead a horse around on a long tether?  Am I just making that up?

Nothing super exciting happened for me.  It rained all day and I went into the lab to work for a bit.  We had a little cookout in the afternoon and then I went to the fireworks at night.  I had to behave though, because the professor in charge of the ChemE graduate department was sitting directly in front of me.

Long lining is when you have two lines connected to a horse, and you are on the ground. With the two lines you can you can work the horse similarly to how you would when you ride. It's kind of like when someone drives a horse without the carriage.
I couldn't find a decent picture of a horse being long lined.

No. I live in Michigan. My husband's cousin is getting married in Vail so we're going. I'm so excited. It's at the top of the mountain. We have to take a 20 minute gondola ride to the top.....talk about your photo opportunity. I'm very excited to see Colorado again. My father's family is all from there so we used to go there alot when I was little. But I haven't been there in more than 20 years now.
