Non alcoholic:
1.  COFFEE
2.  san pellegrino or perrier
3.  vitamin water (dragonfruit or fruit punch are the best)
3.  iced tea
4.  the occasional Coke

Alcoholic:
1.  Malibu & pineapple juice
2.  Southern Comfort w/cranberry & orange juices
3.  pretty much anything mixed with juice as long as it isn't too strong

And lauren, if you liked the kamikaze, you'd probably really like a raspberry kamikaze or jolly rancher shot.  They're yummy and go down real easy.

green tea

pineapple juice

hot cocoa

...and this really weird peppermint-chocolate soy milk I found this past winter. It's great warm or cold.

My drink of choice most of the time is water.  Not frou-frou, tuity-fruity 'vitamin' or lemon water.  Straight-outta-the-tap, fresh-from-the-well-in-my-backyard water.  Nothing beats it.

My drug of choice is Mt. Dew (straight up, none of that diet crap).  But I limit myself to one per week.

I'm not much of a drinker, but I did discover Cosmopolitans recently, and they're quite good.  Otherwise, a cold Labatt's Light will do just fine.  8)

Ooo! Raspberry kamikaze!!

I've had the Jolly Rancher drink when I go downtown, and it's really good, I didn't know that it was a shot as well! I'm going to ask for it the next time I go out!

thanks! ;D

But hey ... I can't rag on you too much.  You've got better beer up there.  And good thing too, you'll all need lots of it when Ottawa loses to the Sabres in the next round.

Hahaha! I'm rooting for the Sabres. The Sens are an eastern team. Outside of the Canadians I can't stand eastern teams.

Buffalo is one of the few American cities that I wouldn't mind having the cup.   :P

There aren't any Sonic fast food restaurants in Maine.  :'(

Title: Re: You're Favourite Drink!

Or in NY.  :-/

Don't these restaurants feature girls on roller skates who bring you your food order ala the early episodes of Happy Days?  Because that could explain why there aren't too many of these franchises up north.  Kinda tough to skate in a foot of snow.  ::)

Yeah, that Sonic! I think you have to eat outside in your car. So...in the summer it's hot & sticky and in the winter you're freezing your butt off while you enjoy that frosty cold Sonic concoction.
CC, you are the wise one. I didn't think of the snow thing. How 'bout we get those girls some snow shoes or something?  :snowfight:

it is a fast food chain...i've never seen them on roller skates, but it is like a old skool fast food place. they have a few tables under an awning, but usually you eat in your car... or just take it to go.

they make the most fantabulous grape slushies. OMG! they are so sweet and yummy! plus you have a purple tounge forever! lol  also, there vanilla cokes are yum! they put the vanilla syrup in the coke and it's just as good as the vanilla cokes in the can.

Diet Vanilla Coke....RIP.

I had two friends tell me they saw Diet Vanilla Coke in the store. You don't know how excited I got. I go to the store and see this tub of...Vanilla Coke! So I'm searching for the Diet kind and see...Vanilla Coke Zero. Definitely not the same as Diet. I died a little inside when I realized my friends had gotten the two confused.

Anyway, I'm addicted to Diet Coke. And now Diet Coke Plus because it tastes the same, thank goodness.

Also coffee and last but not least, water.

After all the teasing commercials, I finally got to eat at a Sonic when I was in Myrtle Beach last week. I had the Banana Split that I'd seen taunting me on commericals all last year. It was yummy! I wish I had one near me. I think the closest one is 400 miles away :(

My new favorite alcoholic drink is the Mojito. Anyone tried one of these yet? Pure yumminess.

I've seen the commercials, which are kinda cool, and it looks delicious.  What exactly goes into it, Shannon?  I'm looking for a new refreshing summer drink I can share with my buddies poolside.  ;D

Then this is definitely the drink for you. It's either Vodka or light Rum with soda, fresh mint, sugar cane and fresh lime. If it's made right you don't taste the alcohol at all and it's purely yummy. I had a really good one at a restaurant called Bahama Breeze. Give it a try! I found this recipe from www.tasteofcuba.com.....

Cuban Mojito recipe

the original authentic recipe from Havana Cuba

1 teaspoon powdered sugar
Juice from 1 lime (2 ounces)
4 mint leaves
1 sprig of mint
Havana Club white Rum (2 ounces)
2 ounces club soda

There are countless recipes for the Mojito (prounced moh-HEE-toh), but this version is for the one Hemingway himself enjoyed at the Mojito's place of birth: La Bodeguita del Medio in Havana, Cuba.  If you are throwing a Cuban theme party (Havana night themed party), plan on serving mojitos.

Place the mint leaves into a long mojito glass (often called a "collins" glass) and squeeze the juice from a cut lime over it.  You'll want about two ounces of lime juice, so it may not require all of the juice from a single lime.  Add the powdered sugar, then gently smash the mint into the lime juice and sugar with a muddler (a long wooden device pictured below, though you can also use the back of a fork or spoon if one isn't available).  Add ice (preferably crushed) then add the rum and stir, and top off with the club soda.  Garnish with a mint sprig.

** Optional ** While the following isn't the authentic original Bodeguita del Medio Cuban recipe for a mojito, some people will take half of the juiced lime and cut into into four wedges to add to the glass.  Another variation is to add Angostura bitters to cut the mojito's sweetness, which is a popular version in Havana hotels although not the true Bodeguita recipe.  Some Cubans also use "guarapo" in place of the powdered sugar, which is a sugar cane syrup available in some supermarkets or online Latin grocery stores.

Title: Re: You're Favourite Drink!
Post by EgoOpinion on Jun 27th, 2007, 8:52am
I have no idea actually! ;) I've never watched her make it, although I've been planing to quite a few times. But I guess you cook the berries, and then add some sugar... Put it in a bottle, and then when you want some you just mix it with water. ^^ No seriously, I don't know. Haha. I'll have to ask her. What I DO know is that the lemonade is quite low on sugar though, which is nice, it feels fresh.

Mmmm!  Sounds yummy!  I really prefer drinks in which you can't taste too much alcohol.  I'm a total lightweight when it comes to drinking.  :-/
