Title: You know you're a 90's kid if...
Post by the white o on Dec 15th, 2006, 1:06pm
You know you're a 90's kid if...

*You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air".

*You've worn leggings and felt stylish.

*You yearned to be part of the Baby-Sitters club.

*You use to love playing with your MY Little Pet Shop.

*You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

*You wore a ponytail on the side of your head and had scrunchies.

*You remember reading "Goosebumps".

*You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off".

*You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

*You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

*You remember the craze then the banning of yo-yo's.

*You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

*You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green Ranger were meant to be together.

*You collected pokemon cards.

*You wore socks over leggings scrunched down.

*You knew what it meant to say "Care Bear Stare"

*You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell".

*You played and or collected "Pogs".

*You used to pretend to be a MIGHTY MORPHIN Power Ranger.

*You had at least one GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere.

*You watched the ORIGINAL Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles

*Yikes pencils and rubbers were the shit.

*You remember when the new Beanie Babies were always sold out.

*You used to wear those stick on earings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.

*You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

*You thought it would be so cool to be Alex Mack.

*You know the Macarena by heart.

*Talk to the hand" ... enough said.

* You thought Brain from 'Pinkey and the Brain' would finally take over the world.

*You were made to wear a pair of leggings with the straps on the bottom. ie: stir-ups

*Bum Bags, or Fanny Pax whatever you called them.

*You collected tazos.

*I'LL BE BACK!

*2 words ... SPICE GIRLS...
______________

Anyone remember these? WOW, it brings back a lot of memories!!

I remember about some of this stuff...But I was never interested in most of it...
I can, however, do the Fresh Prince theme song...
"Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air"
And OMFG, Pinky and The Brain!!
We just got my Dad the full box set for his birthday. I LOVE Pinky and The Brain!
Narf!

I know the rap to the Fresh Prince of bel Air, but I never watched it until after the 90's.

I used to only wear leggings, and I had some with the foot straps on the bottom, but I didn't like those.

I wanted to be part of the babysitters club, and me and my friends used to pretend to BE the babysitters club!

I always watched cartoons on Saturday morning.

I wore scrunchies, but no side ponytails.

I loved Goosebumps! I read the books, watched the movies and the TV shows!

I DO remeber the craze and banning of yo-yos!

I used to pretend to be a power ranger sometimes, but by brother actually thought he WAS a power ranger.... and freaked out a lot of innocent strangers.

I had a Tamogotchi, which was like a GigaPet, and I had it chained to a scrunchie I wore around my wrist and I took it everywhere with me!

Care Bears and My Mittle Pony were my favorite shows, and I watched Ninja Turtles too!

I wore those stick on earrings!

I still have all my beanie babies!

I loved "Are You Afraid of the Dark" and I thought it would be so cool to be Alex Mack!

I loved the Spice Girls. I had Spice Girls pencils and pretanded to be them!

And I also collected crazy bones, which weren't mentioned on the list.

I collected Crazy Bones too! I had all the second series in one colour, I felt so special. :) Remember Eggy? He was the most valued one.

I had a Tamagotchi and a Giga Pet! I felt so proud. I have a picture of me and my sister at Christmas one year with two of them around our necks!!

I never collected Crazy Bones, but my brother did. And he battled with them (is that what it is called?) Where you fling them at the opponents trying to knock them down.

Dude.
Here I am, admitting it for, what, the second or third time in one week?
I loved the Backstreet Boys. If I had a time machine, I would go back and hit my mother upside the head, and tell her that in liking the Backstreet Boys, her daughter and several others would be EMOTIONALLY SCARRED in the future.
Cuz it's true.

I think my first CD might have been Spice Girls, too.  And me some other kids on my block would always pretend to be the Spice Girls.  I was usually Baby Spice, but sometimes six people would play and since I was the youngest, I couldn't be a Spice Girl, so I had to be Sheryl Crow instead.

Which sort of sucks.
Cuz I don't remember anything until, like, '98(which was, by the way, overall, a fantastic year, and NOT just because DUTG came out), and I don't remember most of life until I was 9....

I remember for my Youth Ministry Talent Show years ago, a bunch of my friends and I got together and did Spice Up your Life!! That was fun, we had dance moves and everything!

I had one Polly Pocket, and I think my sister had two, but they were the original, small, ity bity Polly Pocket the original

I remember doing a Spice Girl's song with a few of my old old friends back in my old primary school when I was about 9, before I moved house I also believe my older brother has a video of me when I was 9, dancing on my bed along to Spice girls and b*witched! ;)

The thing I always remembered about polly pocket was that you had those little spots on the floor to stick them down, andom I know. ^^

Does anyone remember Sylvainian Families? (sp) I used to have loads of them too, hehe. :3

You mean Sylvanian Families?
I have a closet full of them.  I used to collect them, and I sorta still do.  Tomy, the original maker, discontinued that brand name though.  They are now sold as Calico Critters.

Post by the purple o on Jan 1st, 2007, 6:45pm
Character summary

Tinky Winky

Tinky-Winky is the largest of the Teletubbies, is covered in purple terrycloth, has a triangular antenna on his head, and is notable for the red luggage (described by the show as a "magic bag", but often described by other media as a purse or handbag) he carries.

Dipsy

Male and green with a straight dipstick on his head. Favourite thing: black and white hat (used for role-playing). Dipsy is the most contrary of the characters, and will sometimes refuse to go along with the other Tubbies' group opinion. One example is the episode where Laa-Laa played the guitar. Both Tinky Winky and Po ran away, but Dipsy thought her playing was lovely.

Laa-Laa

Female, yellow, curly antenna. Favourite thing: orange ball. Very concerned with the welfare of all. Thinks she's the best singer. "Drama queen", party-girl and mother type.

Po

Though Po's gender IS unknown by the general population, most speculation points to Po being a female. This would promote the balance of two males and two females. Po is the smallest of the Teletubbies, and often the one who gets into innocent trouble, e.g. Running over the others to make tubbie mince. Favourite thing: Running over the others and her scooter. Bilingual: Speaks the broadcasting country's language and Cantonese. Of all the Teletubbies, Po usually becomes most involved with the audience.
