Title: Clive, IA 5/18/10 Post by Lamb_Chop on May 19th, 2010, 2:23pm This was my first time going to a Goo Goo Dolls concert and only my second concert in my whole life (the first being Third Eye Blind last summer). I was disappointed that the band wasn't coming to Kansas City, but when I saw they'd be in Clive I decided that a three hour drive would be worth it to see my favorite band. My friend and I got there about an hour before the doors opened and we ended up getting in the second row (this was all standing up of course). The starting band was Vedera and I had actually heard of them through a radio station that I work at so that was exciting. Not only that, but they were from KC! There were some dumbasses behind us that kept yelling rude things to Vedera. I kept telling my friend how if they didn't shut up soon that I was going to throw my water on them. They shut up quickly after... Guess they heard me. The set list was basically the same, but sadly Flat Top was cut. :( The boys weren't too talkative, however at one point, someone threw panties on the stage and Johnny joked that the needy women in Africa need them so that they can have fun too. Johnny forgot the words to Can't Let It Go. Now the highlight for me: It was right before they started playing Home, the security guard handed me one of the band's guitar picks! He must have seen me singing to all of the songs (even the "unknown" ones like Another Second Time Around) and decided I deserved it! I was quite pleased. Overall, AMAZING show! I have some pretty good pictures that I'll try and get on here later. |

I should have rephrased that... He didn't really forget a lot of the words, just one of the lines in the beginning and he said, "Oh shit" and Robby laughed at him. It was actually pretty funny and I doubt they'll cut the song. I'll get pictures up in a bit. |
